Not by post. Not from a courier.
Slid under the front door.
Sophia picked it up. Plain brown envelope. No name.
She opened it—and froze.
Inside were three things:
A photo of Adrian entering a luxury hotel.
A time-stamped receipt: Dinner for two – Cassia Hotel Restaurant.
And a message in blocky, printed letters:
"You don't really know who you're living with."
Her fingers trembled. She glanced at Adrian, who was on the phone, laughing lightly with someone. Was it Cassidy?
The air around her thickened. Was he hiding something?
But before she could say anything—her phone rang.

She answered.
"Miss Carter," a deep voice said, distorted. "Adrian Blake isn't who you think he is. Check the hotel camera footage for April 3rd. Room 907."

Sophia stood frozen, heart racing.
