If it weren't for Tsunade, Sasame would never have become teammates with Shizune and Yakushi Kabuto.
First, both of them were medical ninjas.
Generally, a ninja team would only have one medical ninja—some teams didn't even have one at all.
Because medical ninjas were far too rare.
Second, Shizune was already seventeen years old—not a genin, but a chunin.
In principle, she shouldn't have been assigned to a team of genin.
But Tsunade had privileges.
And since Sarutobi Hiruzen had already approved, no one dared to complain.
Sasame was quite happy about it.
Three top-tier healers backing him up.
It was ridiculously safe.
And unlike ordinary medical ninjas, all three of them had combat abilities.
In the early stages, even Uzumaki Naruto couldn't compare.
After all, Haruno Sakura was dead weight, and Uchiha Sasuke was too proud—both were unreliable.
According to the original timeline, Tsunade should have already taken Shizune and wandered the shinobi world, living the life of a drifter.
But now, she was focused on figuring out how to safely improve Sasame's combat experience.
Sasame, Shizune, and Yakushi Kabuto—none of them were ordinary genin.
Simple missions weren't necessary, but if they took on something too difficult, there'd be risks.
If Tsunade ended up stepping in, the whole point of training would be lost.
For her, it had been a long time since she'd been this indecisive.
The main reason was Nawaki's death. If she lost Sasame too, she didn't think she could bear it—she might not even want to keep living.
Without the excuse of going to school, Sasame could only use the orphanage as a reason to leave the house.
Fortunately, Tsunade trusted him completely and rarely questioned him.
Gunma Casino.
After two and a half years of development, it had become the largest casino in Tanzaku Town.
Other casinos had tried underhanded tactics, but they clearly underestimated the power of brute force.
Did they really think Sasame, whose strength had skyrocketed, would be afraid of a bunch of ordinary thugs?
Even if they hired ninjas, how would they get past Tsunade?
After a few "persuasive" lessons, the casino chain began expanding outward.
Now, it had gained some fame even within the Land of Fire.
"Big Brother!"
As soon as Sasame opened the door, a little red-haired girl came running toward him.
So cute.
"Big Brother, I want a hug!"
Karin stretched out her arms, looking expectant.
"Did you listen to Mom today?"
Sasame picked her up and asked.
Just like in the original story, Karin had a fiery temper.
But in front of him, she was always well-behaved.
Uzumaki Ena often joked, "We don't seem like mother and daughter, but you two seem like real siblings."
"Of course!"
Karin chirped, "I always listen to Big Brother!"
"Good girl."
Sasame patted her bright red hair and asked, "Where's Mom?"
"She's practicing sealing techniques."
Karin answered immediately.
"Oh, then I'll go see her."
Sasame set her down and said, "Stay here and keep studying."
Karin immediately pouted, her little face full of grievance.
Because the books Sasame left for her were way too hard.
She didn't understand why she had to learn those weird square characters.
"Be good."
Sasame pinched her cheeks lightly.
Karin immediately brightened up and nodded.
North of Tanzaku Town was a small forest.
Now, it belonged to Gunma Casino.
Sasame had bought it precisely because it was so secluded—perfect for Uzumaki Ena to practice sealing techniques undisturbed.
The area was surrounded by detection barriers.
Since Sasame knew their locations, he didn't trigger any of them.
"Who's there?"
Uzumaki Ena dispersed the chakra in her hands and turned around. When she saw Sasame, she smiled.
It had to be said—the Uzumaki clan was truly blessed.
Especially in terms of chakra reserves. Ena had dozens of times more than Sasame.
Uzumaki Ena was twenty when she gave birth to Karin. Now, she was twenty-three.
Even after years of neglect, her progress was still astonishing.
And since sealing techniques were unique, Sasame wasn't entirely sure just how strong she was now.
Honestly, these past two and a half years had been great—except for the lack of grapes. That was a real shame.
"Sasame, congratulations on graduating."
Uzumaki Ena walked over and gently stroked his head with her soft hands, as if he were something precious.
"Got any gifts for me?"
Sasame looked up and asked.
Even though he'd grown a lot over the past two years, he was still under ten—shorter than both Tsunade and Uzumaki Ena.
But at this rate, in another two or three years, he'd probably catch up.
"I do."
Uzumaki Ena wiped her hands on her clothes before pulling out an omamori—a protective charm.
"Peace and happiness."
Sasame took it and read the four characters embroidered on the front.
"Do you like it? I made it myself."
Uzumaki Ena watched him with nervous anticipation.
"Thanks, I love it."
Sasame nodded—though the color was a bit too pink.
But then again…
Real men love pink.
Uzumaki Ena immediately smiled—soft, warm, and radiant.
Sasame thought to himself, She's really nothing like Tsunade.
Even when Tsunade was being gentle, there was still a sharp edge to it.
She also had a mischievous, playful side.
And when it came to outsiders? Downright terrifying.
But Uzumaki Ena never complained, no matter what Sasame did. She was the epitome of a devoted wife and mother.
Fire and water—two extremes. It was pretty interesting.
"I have a gift for you too."
Sasame took out a scroll and said seriously, "Memorize it, then destroy it immediately."
Uzumaki Ena blinked in surprise before opening it curiously.
"Yin Seal."
An S-rank medical sealing technique.
It could store chakra, regulate it, and enhance healing and offensive power.
It could also improve physical abilities and preserve youth.
Sasame hadn't stolen it—he'd memorized it when Tsunade was teaching Shizune.
Too bad Shizune's talent wasn't enough. Even now, she hadn't formed the diamond-shaped mark.
He gave it to Uzumaki Ena in hopes of boosting her strength—and keeping her eternally youthful.
"Don't say it's too valuable. If you can master it, that's the best help you can give me."
Sasame pressed a finger to her lips before she could protest.
At its core, the Yin Seal was a sealing technique, so he figured Uzumaki Ena could learn it.
At the very least, she had massive chakra reserves.
Uzumaki Ena could only nod in agreement.
"Let's call it a day for training—oh, I've got something to take care of. I'll be back soon."
Without explaining, Sasame turned and left.
Before long, he arrived at another small forest.
"Wow, her eyes are white!"
"A white-eyed monster!"
"Show us your disgusting eyes, freak!"
Three boys surrounded a small, black-haired girl with pale eyes, pointing and jeering as she shrank in fear.
Sasame smirked.
Finally, I caught this scene.
He'd spent 27 Fate Points on reconnaissance just for this moment.
But it was worth it.
Hyuga Hinata was the female lead—her Fate Points would be huge.
Sorry, Naruto. Your wife's gone.
But don't worry—you don't like Hinata yet anyway.
I'll help you chase Haruno Sakura later.
Or if you're into Sasuke… I can help with that too.
With that thought, Sasame stepped forward and shouted:
"Leave that girl alone!"
