Chapter 13 - Zero's Hospital Visit

Meanwhile Viltro and Zero had arrived at the hospital and had been there for a couple hours. Zero was under strict recovery orders no visitors until at least his skin healed. Viltro was arguing with the doctor.

"Let me see him now!"

"I'm sorry sir, I can't let him have any visitors until at least the skin has healed. To minimize risk of infection."

"How long will that take doc?"

"At least six to eight weeks."

Just as the two were arguing back and forth the nurse screamed from the room. Viltro and the doctor rushed into the room.

"What happened, nurse?"

"Look!" She removed the bandages from Zero's body.

"I was doing a bandage change like you said every hour. When I took them off there was no blood on them and when I looked at where the wounds were before, but they were gone ."

The doctor and nurse were shocked Zero's skin had already healed.

"How is that possible?"

"Well doc, his skin is healed. So you two can go now. I need to talk to him." Viltro shoved the doctor and nurse out and locked the door behind them. "Zero! How are you feeling? Ok?"

"Yeah, I feel fine but I don't remember much of what happened."

"That doesn't surprise me. You took on a challenge to free all the slaves and won."

"Who was that, Viltro?"

"That was Fay the Enslaver. She's the Celestial that rules over this dimension. She was newly appointed the title "Celestial" but she still is just as dangerous as the rest. But hold on for one minute, Zero."

Viltro walked over to the corner of the room and pointed down.

"Come out or I'll make you come out, Fay."

Just as Viltro said that, from the shadow in the corner came Fay from the ground. Zero panicked.

"How'd you know I was here? I could have sworn I hid my presence."

"Not good enough from me, Fay." Viltro said with a smirk.

"Now why are you here, Fay? You're traumatizing Zero."

"I'm sorry but I needed to come see him and apologize about everything."

"Why would you apologize?"

"Because I don't like doing that. I hate being the Enslaver. If I stopped though they would replace me with someone worse off. So I do horrible things to the people, but Zero just freed all of them so I would like to propose that he and his house become students at One United High."

"A school invitation is why you're here?" Viltro asked, puzzled.

"Yes. I wish to protect him for a little while because that event was broadcasted to the whole dimension."

"Oh no! you mean?"

"Yes, the judge saw it. Which means he'll be coming soon."

"Dammit! I thought we would have time before this," Viltro said with a worried expression.

"What are you talking about?" Zero said.

"Nothing important, listen, you're going to be attending school from this day forth."

"School? What's that?" Zero raised an eyebrow.

"It's where you go to learn about the dimensions." Viltro answered Zero.

"Why?" Zero asked.

"Because you're free now so you'll have to go to school like the rest of the free kids. You'll enjoy it, Zero." Viltro responded.

"Ok if you insist, but can I ask Fay something? Do you regret whipping me? If you do, don't. Because of that, I'm free now and that's worth everything." Zero says with a smile.

Fay looks at Zero and smiles a bit.

"I need to leave before they summon me. I'll see you later, Viltro, Zero." She then sinks into the ground and the shadow goes through the wall.

"Ok Zero, now that it's just us I need to let you know that we have little time to prepare for what's to come so I'll make this quick. You're moving to my house so I can keep an eye on you all."

"Ok, but prepare for what?"

"The Celestials. I'll go get you discharged, you just get some more rest, ok?"

"Alright I'll be here."

Viltro leaves the room.

A shadow reappears in the room and out comes Fay.

"Fa-"

"Shhh don't say it so loud he might come back. I just wanted to tell you thank you for everything. Okay? I'm leaving now."

She returns to the shadows and goes through the wall again.

Zero thought to himself

"I'm finally free, can't wait to start anew. But how am I alive? I should be dead, maybe I am dead."

Outside, Viltro talks to the doctor.

"I want to get his discharge papers ready."

"Sir, he can't leave." Viltro slaps A UDF ID on the desk.

"This is a UDF matter now. Get his discharge papers ready now!"

"Right away, sir! I'm sorry for the trouble."

After the conversation the hospital entrance door opens and in comes Rykar, Sierrna and Rhyunous all packed up and ready.

"We're here, let's go see, Zero."

The nurse stops them.

"I'm sorry but he's sleeping right now."

"Does he have guard rails?" Rhyunous asks

"Yes, but they're not up. Why would you bring that up, little one?"

"He has a habit of falling out of bed to wake up."

"Oh, that's absurd!" As she says that a loud boom can be heard from Zero's room.

The group rushes to open the door. There next to the bed is Zero, who has fallen out of bed again.

"I told you so."

Rhyunous jumps on the ground and hugs Zero.

"I'm sorry big bro."

"It's ok. See? I told you I would be fine."

Sierrna enters the room.

"Did Viltro tell you we're moving into his house?" she asks.

"Yeah he did."

"Ok. The boys packed all your stuff but they almost forgot this." She handed Zero a ring with wings and a halo through them on it.

"Thank you so much for grabbing it for me, Sierrna." Zero smiled.

"Heyo you jerk, don't make us worry like that again." Rykar said.

"I promise, I'll try not to anymore."

"Ok good."

The doctor entered the room with a clipboard and started to take off Zero's face bandages.

"He's good to go, just have to take these off."

Viltro bursts into the room and grabs the doctor's hand before he can get to the bandages.

"No! I will do that at home."

"Yes, Mr Viltro, have a good day."

"Alright guys, let's get going."

"Ok." They all said at the same time.

"Wait, where's my hoodie?"

Everyone looked around for a bit.

"We don't know. You didn't have it during the beating."

Zero thinks back and realizes he gave it to the UDF Guard.

"It's with Fay. Viltro, would you be able to get it?"

"I'll try my best, Zero."

As the group heads outside they wave goodbye to the doctor and nurse Zero takes his bag from Sirrena.

"Is everyone ready?" Viltro asks before raising his hand.

"Yup"

"Yes"

"Of course"

"You know it boss"

"Alright here we go"

Viltro waved his hand,

"Teleport." They reappeared in front of a giant house.

"Welcome to your new home."

The group was amazed at the size of the outside of the house.

"Well no point in standing out here. Let's go inside."

Viltro opened the door and everyone went inside the house. It seemed even bigger than the outside. The group started to split up and look for a new room to call theirs.

"You can have any of the rooms, but the top middle is mine. Have at it!"

The group dashed in all directions; the boys headed upstairs and Sierrna headed downstairs. Zero was about to head upstairs when Viltro stopped him.

"We need to talk first, Zero, I have some stuff to tell you. Ok?"

Viltro and Zero headed outside.

"Zero you must have a lot of questions about stuff so ask me, and I won't hide anything from you."

Zero thought long and hard.

"I should be dead, correct?"

Viltro paused by the question and he then responded.

"Yes, if you were a normal human you would've been dead long before the end of the first hundred lashes, but you're not. You're a dimensional, a special race that existed not too long ago. The reason you survived is because they were known for their extreme healing capabilities and strength."

"So I'm alive because I'm special."

"Yes, you're one of the last living dimensional beings."

"So then that's why you didn't want anyone to look at me after the incident."

"Yes. But we were lucky, Fay did not report you."

"Why does it matter?"

"Because if she did and he knew there was a living dimensional alive he would send the Judge."

"Who's the Judge?"

"Someone I pray you never have to meet, at least not now. Anything else, Zero?"

"Yeah, did you get me that thing?"

"Yup" Viltro reaches into his bag and throws Zero what looks like bread.

Zero caught it and looked at it with much happiness.

"Thank you may I head in now, sir?"

"Zero your free now. You can do whatever you want now."

"Ok. I'm gonna head in now."

"Alright let me take off your face bandages and you can go to bed. Night. Remember, tomorrow we're heading to the school to register you guys."

"Ok, night!"

Zero heads back inside and upstairs and goes into a room with a giant bed and starts winding down. As Zero falls asleep he begins to have the same dream again. The angel girl is next to him.

"Don't worry! I wont tell anyone in exchange for that bread. Make me a promise."

"What is it?"

"When you grow up, come save my people. Bring them to salvation and remember who you once were." She said with a sad tone a single tear started to fall from her eye.

The girl starts to run away. The boy watches as she disappears and he realizes she dropped something. He picked it up it's a ring with wings and a halo through them engraved on it. He clenches it in his fist tightly and looks in the area the girl left towards.

"I promise I'll bring this back when we meet again."

Suddenly a man with a baby in his arms runs out of the street and sees the boy. He runs to him.

"Please take my baby and save him. I beg of you."

The man shoves the baby towards the boy's arms. The boy takes the baby.

"Thank you!" The man runs away. Zero's dream turns into a haze as it ends.
