Ahriman woke up in a warm bed, a familiar yet distant feeling that he almost forgot, he slowly tied to get up, but the pain from his side made his fall onto that warm bed again.
Hearing the fall a big lady came towards him, she was Tories, the same beastman that saved him, Ahriman seeing backed off entering the bed more, he was left mesmerised by her beauty.
She seemed conflicted about the approach so she started reassuring him first "Hey young man, calm down, I'm your friend you don't have to be so on edge, when we found you you were one step away from death" after saying that she tried to decrease the distance.
There was online one big problem, Ahriman didn't understood anything she said, they talked two different languages.
After living in hell for so long he became ready for every possible thing to go wrong and guided by his instinct he tried to punch her trachea in order to stun her for a while.
The result was predictable Ahriman hand got red and swollen and the girl's trachea didn't obtain any damage.
She got a little surprised and so she called Lucas "Hey Lucas, I think this little man has some took some pretty heavy hit on his head" everyone knew that a beastman strongest point was always hi trachea, so hitting there seemed irrational, if not stupid.
After a while Lucas understood the problem "Tories I think I understand what's wrong here, he doesn't speak our language" he explained.
Tories looked at him and then at Ahriman her face troubled "then what do we do? we can't leave him here in this village, the food his scarce and I doubt someone here could make him learn our language or help him " for the first since her birth Tories tried to think for a solution that didn't required violence.
They decided to take a stop at a near small village in order to heal Ahriman and maybe obtain something from him, but his inability to speak made all their plans fail.
"And if we take him with us? We could give him some secondary role in the party and in the meantime we teach him our language" suggested Lucas a shiny light shrone in his eyes, finally he didn't had to wash all the armors and weapons.
"For me it's fine, the travel to go back at the guild is too long, Why do they make us use the teleportation portal to kill the wyvern, but not to return" Tories quickly found another reason to give some punches at those damn guild's receptionist.
"You know how it is, they let us use the portal only because it was an emergency, nothing more nothing less" said a frowned Lucas, even him was deeply annoyed by the save money policy of the Guild.
While the two adventures continued talking and lamenting about their problems with the Guild, Ahriman stood laying in the bed, confused and annoyed by their unending talking, whoever they were they weren't surely some demons hunters, nor enemies sent from his ex subordinates.
The atmosphere became less heavy and for the first time in a long while, he felt peace around him, not a peace made of silence, but a warmth peace.
...
Meanwhile in the point where Ahriman appeared the first time.
A strange creature, with two big horns on his head and the head of a goat, started to kick the ground trying to sniff something.
Half an hour later the best seemed to take up the smell it was seeking, a big devious smile appeared on its face, it stood up and it began to move fastly towards the smell.
