Edward James was restless all through the night which seems to be the longest night ever to him, he had informed Kristen earlier on about his plan on revealing the truth about little Maria to his wife.
"Are you not well?" Maria asked him as she has noticed him tose several times on the bed.
"Am good just a little disturbed_ come on now sleep" he said placing her head on his chest.
"What's disturbing you?" She asked raising her head up
"You'll know when the time comes but now you have to sleep" he told her again but Maria sat up on the bed facing him.
"Can I ask you a question?" She asked
Edward still laid down but used his hand to support his head.
"Okay, am all ears" he assured her.
"How do you know Cent Clark and what did he mean by 'i once took her away' also how did he escape jail?" She asked in one breath, Edward smiled and took her hands in his.
"Why are you nervous Mrs Edward?" Edward James asked noticing her tensed voice.
"Well, I don't normally have this conversation umm,erm you know_"
"With Cent Clark" Edward James completed what she was to say and it surprised her.
"How did you know? She asked
"I don't know but from what I've heard you say regarding your relationship it's easy to detect it was a toxic relationship" he told her and she nods.
"Well to answer your questions_ Cent Clark or rather the Clark family was once a business associate with the James but now rivals. In other words Cent Clark was a childhood friend who copies me in everything but I saw it as nothing until he requested for some funds to start up a business of which I gave him but I later discovered it's for a drug deal business. I warned him but he didn't heed to my word, his family later found out but covered him up because he was funding the family business from his profit but, his then boss asked him to abduct Vanessa for his son to marry" he paused then continued. " I got to know about it after the failed mission from a friend, I confronted him but he saw nothing wrong in his actions. Then there was this girl I had crush on but didn't reveal it; Cent Clark found out somehow after we've separated for years_ he went after her and she agreed, they later got married but divorced after few months". Edward James told her, Maria didn't say anything as he waited for him to continue.
"How he escaped, well from my investigation so far it seems someone helped him escape, but you don't have to be scared I'll always be here to protect you, even though I know there's a supreme power protecting us all" he told her placing feather like kiss on her lips.
"Did I answer your question my Treasure?" He asked and she nods
"Words baby" he said
"Yes y-you did" she stuttered a bit
"Come on what do you want to say" Edward asked as he observed her reaction.
"Erm, well erm_ do it already" she told him but he smiled
"Do what I don't under_" he was saying but Maria immediately place her lips on his, her actions made him to smile before he deepened the kiss savouring every inch of her mouth. He let her go when they were out of breath, he kissed her forehead before tucking both of them in.
