Chapter 1 - THE HUTT GAMBIT

CHAPTER – SHATTERED PEACE

NARRATOR (voice-over):A galaxy divided! Striking swiftly after the Battle of Geonosis, Count Dooku's droid army has seized control of the major hyperspace lanes… separating the Republic from the majority of its clone army. With few clones available, the Jedi generals cannot gain a foothold in the Outer Rim… as more and more planets choose to join Dooku's Separatists. While the Jedi are occupied fighting a war, no one is left to keep the peace. Chaos and crime spread… and the innocent become victims in a lawless galaxy. Crime lord Jabba the Hutt's son has been kidnapped by a rival band of pirates. Desperate to save his son, Jabba puts out a call for help. A call the Jedi are cautious to answer.

INT. CORUSCANT – SENATE CHAMBERS – Day

A soft bluish glow cast shadows across the Chancellor's war room. Dozens of holograms flickered from surrounding consoles, all displaying unrest: fires on Ryloth, protests on Malastare, and Separatist troop movements across the Rim.

At the center of it all stood Chancellor Palpatine, calm, composed — a serpent in silk.

A fuzzy image of a Hutt droid emissary and Jabba buzzed from a central holotable.

JABBA DROID (hologram):"Jabba requests that anyone who can help us find his kidnapped son send any information they have immediately."

Palpatine leaned forward, folding his hands beneath his chin.

PALPATINE:"We must help Jabba. This is the opportunity we've been looking for. The Jedi must find Jabba's son."

Beside him, Master Mace Windu remained statuesque — stern eyes burning with barely suppressed distaste.

MACE WINDU:"I don't like it, dealing with that criminal scum. This is a dark day for the Republic."

Palpatine's tone softened, almost mournful.

PALPATINE:"I agree, my friend. But what choice do we have? The Hutts control the Outer Rim… and we'll need their space lanes in order to move our troops."

Windu's gaze darkened, troubled.

MACE WINDU:"There is more to this kidnapping than it seems."

PALPATINE:"Then you must send as many Jedi as you can."

MACE WINDU:"Impossible, Chancellor. The droid General Grievous has our forces spread thin. The only Jedi we can spare are Skywalker and Kenobi. They just captured the planet Christophis."

Palpatine turned sharply.

PALPATINE:"Then contact them immediately."

INT. BRIDGE – VENATOR-CLASS STAR DESTROYER RESOLUTE – ORBITING REPUBLIC REFUELING STATION

The massive command bridge hummed with restrained tension. Lights blinked across control panels. Outside the viewport, the glowing sphere of Christophis turned slowly beneath them.

Admiral Yularen stood near the wide glass, hands clasped behind his back, eyes flicking over data feeds. He was tired — too many battles, not enough rest.

A sharp beep broke the stillness.

CLONE OFFICER (adjusting console):"Admiral, incoming priority holocall... coded clearance—Jedi High Council."

Yularen stepped forward briskly. The air shimmered as blue light formed into the figures of Yoda and Windu.

WINDU:"We need to make contact with General Kenobi."

YULAREN:"We've been unable to reach him. It could be a solar storm, it could be... or rebooting their communication system. I'm sure that this is just temporary."

YODA:"A messenger, we are sending, with important orders for General Kenobi."

WINDU:"See to it that she gets there as fast as possible."

YULAREN:"Yes, sir. As soon as we load relief supplies—"

YODA (firmly interrupting):"No time, there is. Immediately, the messenger must go."

Yularen nodded, swallowing his reply.

YULAREN:"I understand, sir. I will personally take an unloaded ship to drop them off..."

The image flickered and vanished. The clone officer beside him already had his datapad ready.

CLONE OFFICER:"Shall I prep the Coronet, sir? Fastest ship we've got docked and dry."

YULAREN:"No, the Peregrine. Less conspicuous. Minimal crew. Ready it within five minutes—and get the messenger aboard."

He turned back to the void of space, his reflection faint in the glass, eyes shadowed by the coming storm.

EXT. CHRISTOPHIS – WAR ZONE – MIDDAY

Blaster fire carved white-hot streaks through the broken skyline. Glass spires shattered in bursts of crystal shrapnel. The Republic line, battered but unbroken, held steady.

Captain Rex surged through smoke and rubble.

REX:"Go, go, go, go, go!"

The ground shuddered beneath them — artillery shells pounding.

The white-armored bodies of the 501st and 212th stormed forward. An ocean of blue and orange, cutting through the ruined avenues.

From across the boulevard, a fresh wave of B1 battle droids clanked forward.

Beside the Republic forces, two Jedi cut through the chaos: Anakin Skywalker — furious focus burning in his eyes — and Obi-Wan Kenobi, calm but intense.

ANAKIN:"They're back!"

OBI-WAN (grimly):"I told you this victory was too easy. We never should have sent the ship back for supplies."

ANAKIN:"It wasn't my idea to send the ship back."

A giant spider droid slammed down between ruined buildings, its red eyes scanning.

OBI-WAN (shouting):"All right, men. Second wave incoming!"

ANAKIN:"Rex, you and your men follow me."

OBI-WAN:"Cody, battle positions!"

CODY:"Up to the front!"

The clones surged ahead, moving in squads as plasma scorched the air around them.

A lone clone spotted incoming shells.

CLONE:"Incoming!"

Cody squinted at the skyline.

CODY:"Skywalker should have attacked by now."

Obi-Wan stepped beside him, deflecting a bolt without looking, spinning and slicing a B1 droid mid-sentence.

OBI-WAN:"Don't worry! He knows the plan!"

From atop a ruined building, Anakin gazed down — hair tousled by wind and fire, eyes scanning the battlefield.

REX (behind him):"What's our plan of attack, sir?"

ANAKIN:"Follow me."

Anakin leapt, cloak whipping behind him. His saber ignited mid-fall — a blue streak of judgment.

He landed on the spider droid's back, his blade flashing, severing circuits and metal. Sparks flew. Troopers jet-packed down behind him.

OBI-WAN:"Come on, then!"

Clones shouted as they charged:

CLONES:"Right on!""Give it to them!""That's the stuff!""Come on you traitors!"

CLONE SNIPER:"Target."

CLONE OFFICER:"Careful, lads. There, on the right!"

The spider droid screeched. Anakin drove his blade in deep — power core rupturing in a blossom of flame.

He sprinted back through the smoke to Obi-Wan.

ANAKIN (panting):"We're gonna need reinforcements."

OBI-WAN:"We haven't been able to get through to the Admiral."

INT. SEPARATIST COMMAND TANK – BEHIND ENEMY LINES

In the crimson-lit interior, General Whorm Loathsom loomed tall, armored in ceremonial red, tusks protruding from a permanent sneer. His thick hand slammed a console.

GENERAL LOATHSOM:"Why are we stopping?"

A B1 Commander droid crackled.

B1 COMMANDER:"We cannot get past their cannons, sir."

Loathsom growled — a low, inhuman rumble from deep in his chest.

GENERAL LOATHSOM:"Cannons? This will never do. We must pull back and set up our deflector shields. Turn the troops around!"

B1 COMMANDER:"Retreat! Retreat!"

B1 BATTLE DROIDS:"Roger, roger.""Roger, roger."

EXT. CHRISTOPHIS – REPUBLIC FRONTLINE

The droid lines began to crumble — movement growing chaotic as they pulled back.

ANAKIN (watching):"They're pulling back."

Obi-Wan stepped up beside him, flicking droid oil off his blade.

OBI-WAN (wry):"Looks like help has arrived."

A deep hum rolled over the battlefield.

Above them, a Nu-class attack transport screamed overhead, parting the smoke like a blade.

And with it, the battle — for now — shifted once more.
