She slowly turns her head.)
The ghost can disguise itself.
And now, she's going for Lily.
(Disguised once more as Duke )
(Next morning, around 4 AM)
Lily woke up, surprised to see that her brother wasn't on the floor.
Lily (confused): Where did he go now?
(She gets out of bed and heads downstairs. Duke is placing food on the table.)
Duke (smiling): You're awake.
Lily (coming down the stairs): Yeah... Did you see Max?
Duke: Max? Oh, your brother—yes, he said he wanted to explore the surroundings early this morning. I'm not sure why he isn't back yet.
(Lily frowns, sensing something off. She picks up her phone and tries calling Max.)
Lily (angrily): Ugh, this stupid guy. Why isn't he answering?! Did you see which way he went?
Duke: Relax. I'll come with you later—let's eat first.
(Lily glances around the room and notices a strange bottle filled with ash.)
Lily: What's that? I don't remember seeing it yesterday.
Duke (pauses, then smiles): Oh, that? It's just the ashes from the wood we used to cook last night.
(But Duke can tell she doesn't believe him. Lily's instincts are screaming now.)
Lily (quietly): I'd like to go back to the hotel now.
Duke: Let's eat first—
Lily (sharply): I'm not hungry.
Duke: But what about Max?
Lily: I'll find him afterward. He's not a child—he can come to the hotel on his own.
(Duke's smile fades.)
Duke: That's sad. I was enjoying the company.
Lily: Yeah... I'll just grab my bags.
(She rushes upstairs. Inside her room, she finds Max's things—his bag, clothes, even his shoes.)
Lily (in her mind): No way… He wouldn't go out barefoot in a desert. Duke's lying. What did he do to Max? Once I get out, I'll report him to the police.
