Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

The plan would have to wait until after Christmas. On Christmas Day, Alexander had already made plans to meet Penelope and Kate in Hogsmeade.

Besides, after Christmas, most of the students would leave Hogwarts, making it the perfect time to explore the castle without too many eyes around.

"Jack," Alexander called out.

"Master Alexander, are you hungry?" the house-elf asked warmly.

"I'll have noodles for breakfast today. Feel free to make them however you like," Alexander replied with a small nod.

A short while later, he sat before a fragrant bowl of beef noodles, slender chopsticks resting in his hand. As he picked them up, an interesting thought crossed his mind.

The Elder Wand—Voldemort's final wand before his death—was one of the legendary Deathly Hallows.

The Deathly Hallows were closely tied to Voldemort's downfall.

The Resurrection Stone had played its part when Voldemort resurrected himself using Harry's blood. That connection allowed Harry to survive the Killing Curse once again, ultimately leading to Voldemort's own destruction.

The Elder Wand, on the other hand, had a more complicated story. Dumbledore had intended to die undefeated so that the wand's power would end with him. No one would claim its mastery if no one defeated him in battle. If things went wrong, Snape was supposed to become the wand's new master.

But fate intervened. Draco Malfoy, by accident, disarmed Dumbledore and became the wand's true master. Later, Harry Potter defeated Draco, unknowingly claiming ownership. When Voldemort used the Elder Wand to cast Avada Kedavra on Harry, the curse backfired, leading to Voldemort's death.

Alexander also discovered that Gryffindor's Sword could be seen as another version—or perhaps an imitation—of the Elder Wand. Like the wand, it grew stronger by absorbing magical substances.

Through his research, Alexander found that Gryffindor himself shared a bloodline with the eldest of the three legendary brothers. He even speculated about a possible blood connection between Gryffindor and Slytherin, who was linked to the second brother.

The sword, not the wand, had been Gryffindor's true weapon of choice. Historical records showed he wielded it far more often.

Later, Neville Longbottom used that very sword to slay Nagini, Voldemort's final Horcrux, thus breaking the last piece of his soul.

According to Alexander's speculation, if the first two "children of prophecy" failed, it would eventually be his turn. At that moment, he would wield the Black Knight—a replica and variant of the Elder Wand crafted by his father, George Smith.

The Invisibility Cloak helped Harry survive countless deadly encounters. If Harry had failed, Neville would have likely inherited it and struck Voldemort down. And if Neville also fell, it would have been Alexander's turn—with the Black Knight in one hand and the Invisibility Cloak in the other.

The prophecy, the Deathly Hallows, and the bloodlines of the three brothers were all tangled together.

After finishing his meal, Alexander entered the kitchen and began preparing for an experiment he had long planned.

"Avada chews the big melon!" he intoned.

A flash of green light, strangely sacred in its glow, shot forward.

The fat pig—meant for the kitchens—collapsed instantly, dying without pain or struggle.

Alexander had been experimenting with the Killing Curse based on his own ideas. Sure enough, unlike the original method that required overwhelming hatred and murderous intent, Alexander's version relied on a completely different mindset. He assumed the role of Death itself—the Grim Reaper—seeing life not as sacred, but as a disease to be cured with the elixir of death.

Avada Kedavra: Lv5 → Lv6 (Temporary State)

Through this mindset, the power of his Killing Curse reached the limits of wizardry. Pushing it further to level 7 would step into the realm of the divine—something only gods could touch. Unfortunately, this surge was only temporary. His actual skill level rose from Lv4 to Lv5. Reproducing Lv6 required external boosts; his core ability hadn't advanced far enough on its own.

It was much like his Phoenix Incarnation talent: he could imitate the phoenix's power, but to truly master it, he needed to hone the magic independently.

Skills gained by "cheating" could only improve once the user genuinely reached that level of power themselves.

However, in Alexander's case, the talent boost served as a guiding star. It was only a matter of time before his real abilities caught up.

He had proved his theory correct—he could only understand and control the Killing Curse after breaking free from the "wizard group mindset" and obtaining a phoenix's eternal life perspective.

Avada Kedavra literally meant "Let the thing be destroyed." Life, in this view, was a sickness to be purged.

Using his advanced thinking skill, Alexander briefly abandoned all sense of self and fully embraced the role of Death itself during the spellcasting. He was not Alexander Smith anymore. He was the Reaper.

Without his thinking skill—essentially a perfect memory and processing ability—he would have been trapped by the common wizard mindset. He would have faltered, even with theoretical knowledge.

Learning any spell up to Lv4 was now effortless for Alexander. Thanks to his rare opportunities, he had pushed the Killing Curse to Lv5—something that would take a normal genius wizard an entire lifetime. He even temporarily touched Lv6, something beyond ordinary mortals.

He smiled bitterly.

Without the system, all of this would have been madness. Altering one's thinking pattern carried dangers greater than death.

Personality, Alexander believed, was more valuable than the soul itself—an irreplaceable accumulation of memories and experiences.

His thinking skill safeguarded that precious treasure, allowing him to analyze magic rationally and methodically without losing himself.

In the end, it was this skill, born from his natural tendency for random thoughts and daydreaming, that had evolved under the system's guidance into something truly remarkable.

It allowed him to find the correct answers seemingly out of nowhere, to resist arrogance born from shallow understanding, and to see the deeper truths hidden in magic.

A young wizard might possess great magic power, but an adult wizard with a deep understanding of magic would always outclass them.

Likewise, Alexander realized how hard it was to break free of the shackles of traditional magical thinking.

Perhaps, he thought, Voldemort had managed it too—by killing countless wizards and severing himself from the mindset of the magical world.
