Sunny stood up, getting ready to finally do everything he put at the back of his mind. First, he had to write a report on the Forgotten Shore since none of those morons actually wrote more than a rough sketch!
Both, just the the Forgotten Shore report or the things he learnt in his Second Nightmare alone could make him a lot of credits, enough to buy a couple houses... Not that he needed one anymore.
He went back to the accademy and quickly used one of its computer to type everything he learned into multiple reports, or well, he wrote it in a way helpful to him.
He then used his name and asked to me Saint For also known as Saint Wake Of Ruin along with Master Jet and Professor Julius. He wished to contact Saint Cor for government protection, Master Jet since they had to meet up for Antartica and he trusted her, rather irrationally, and Professor Julius since he owed it to him.
They met at a secluded room in another building, Sunny was picked up by Master Jet to the place...
"Finally, you're back, my boy! I never doubted that you would return, not even for a moment, I say. No student of mine would allow himself to die so easily!"
Julius shook his head.
"What am I saying… of course, you know. You're one of my students yourself, after all!" Julius paused, scratching his chin. "But boy... Clearing the Second Nightmare as a sleeper! Now that's something only my student can do!"
Sunny returned with a smile. When was the last time he had smiled so genuinely like this? "Thanks!"
"Professor Julius, calm down." Saint Cor spoke in a loud and stern voice, "Let the young man speak."
Summoning his memory, Sunny released the stored reports inside of it, and gently put it upon the table.
"Is that a report?" Professor Julius looked at it, hurriedly flipping the pages. Everyone around him were eyeing the report with curiosity.
"Why does a report concern us?" Saint Cor asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Because this signifies a new era." Sunny replied, putting his hands behind his head, elbows folding upwards, and eyes gleaming.
Professor Julius began to lose
himself in a rambling stupor, mumbling about all the interesting oddities of the Forgotten Shore. But something caught their attention amidst the countless new theories.
"Natural Awakening! Natural Ascension! We were right all along, my dear fellows!" Professor Julius said, practically drooling over the newfound information. "But what are the missing details…?"
Of course, Sunny had left some details out, he needed to make a deal after all. "For those, there are a few things..." He paused, waiting for everyone to turn towards him. "…that need to be confirmed."
Everyone sat silently, waiting for more. Finally, seeing nothing more was forthcoming, Saint Cor spoke up. "What things?"
"I think you know the answer to that question already." Sunny replied with a slight smirk.
"So government protection for you, and we get to control the information? Oh, and of course, the payment as well." Saint Wake of Ruin asked, sighing heavily, crossing his arms and leaning back. "Is that about all? Just tell us about the rest, then."
"Oh no, not just that. That's nowhere near enough, you know. I have information on how to become a supreme, too!" Sunny paused, "I plan on controlling the information as well; I wish to give it to the Song clan."
Another pause.
"And Chain of Nightmares, wherever that is. Artartica? Or something like that."
"Chain of Nightmares?" Professor Julius asked at the same time as Saint Cor asked:
"How do you know that?" Jerking his head towards Sunny. Sparks began to form in Saint Cor's hands as he summoned a Memory.
They both glanced at each other, evaluating.
"I told him about it... And it's Antarctica." Master Jet said, leaning back in her chair, playing with a strand of her hair. She tilted her head to the side, looking over at Saint Cor, "He's the one I told you about."
"I knew it before that." Sunny laughed, "Just not the place." He himself was starting to get tired of all the dramatic pauses, but what was life without a little flair?
Noticing how he laughed, despite seeing Saint Cor holding a Sword, pointing it at him.
"This is merely the start." He laughed, his voice echoing in the small white chamber, his fist slammed the smooth wooden table leading some of the pages to fly out, before the pages fell on the floor.
Julius frowned, "Why are you laughing, Sunny? This isn't—"
Saint Cor interrupted the old man, pinching the bridge of his nose. "The Second Nightmare can change people like that."
This time, the silence stretched across the room, broken only by the sudden, crisp buzz of the coffee machine.
Now if only Sunny knew what his [Fated] attribute did and what coffee it was...
They drank the coffee in peace when suddenly Saint Cor broke the silence, "So why do you wish to join Song and be in Antarctica?"
Sunny put the cup away before replying with a simple voice:
"I need to grow stronger."
A wave of silence passed throughout them, no one said another word, only basked in the acknowledgement that all Awakened strived to be— to be stronger, to possess more authority, to survive in this cruel world. After a while, Sunny coughed, slowly lifting his cup full of coffee, his eyes brimming with curiosity,
"How is this made?"
He suddenly felt a strong sense of deja vu... As if this happened before!
No way that was the case... Surely not? Nothing like this could have ever happened!
"It's a kind of coffee made from coffee beans that are excreted whole by an animal called a civet cat. In simpler words, it's cat poop coffee. Well... It's technically not a cat since they are extinct but yes. That's all I am aware of." Saint cor replied, causing Sunny to spit the coffee out.
Sunny... Sunny had enough! How could he be so unlucky and why was the whole world insane!?
Atleast now he knew where the Deja Vu came from... It was the incident with Honey, back with Alex! And he was close to the exact thing!
'Damnation! This world- this cursed world is insane!'
Sunny ended up getting a good deal, the two of them, him and Saint Cor, could control this information.
All that would be published was the information till Natural Ascendance.
"So, why have you brought Professor Julius here, in a conversation concerning these things?" Saint Cor asked suddenly, causing Sunny to flinch with the intent.
"Why? Isn't our deal that we both can control information?" He replied, his flaw didn't activate since this did technically answer the question.
"Doesn't explain anything." Saint Cor simply stated, but this time the words carried intent, at the same time the shadows stirred, causing the room to grow colder.
"Stop!" Master Jet got in the conversation, stopping the two of them since the two would cause Professor Julius harm. Both of them caught on and stopped.
"Fine. You want to know why? Its simple, without his teachings I wouldn't be standing here right now. Don't you, anyways, need to stop the war that looms upon us? So you would take my deal anyways." Sunny replied, those words causing Saint Cor to flintch.
He caught on quickly. He meant both the wars. Both, the war against the Nightmare Creatures and between the great clans.
'How?' was written on his face, shown by raised eyebrows and a threatening face.
And that was how the conversation ended.
Soon it was time for the valor ball...
The ball was the next time Nephis met Sunny...
She saw him enter the hall, looking simply dashing with a calm smile on his face. She could tell the smile was nothing but a facade, but no one else could. No one.
Once again she realised the truth. The hideous truth that after getting close to him she stole his freedom...
She avoided meeting his gaze. She knew what she would find inside it. Through it. She knew, and that's why—thats why she left.
Left without meeting his gaze.
She was afraid.
Kai, who noticed that, decided to greet Sunny. He recalled the conversation Nephis had with them.
What Cassie did.
What both of them did.
Effie too, was stunned at the revealarion. How wouldn't anyone?
What made it a million times worse was that his only family died... And both of them knew about her existence!
Why would they both take it from him?
Especially Cassie, who knew—who knew what would happen.
To him. To his sister.
Why?
They stole his freedom. Stole his sister, both knowing damn well what she meant to him. He recalled Effie standing up, moving towards them both, and slapping them.
It took Kai all his energy to keep it inside of him.
The rage.
And for that first time... For the first time he let emotions get better of him.
He left before he did anything he would regret.
Left and didn't talk for a while... Not even in the ptv. Ofcourse, he would soon.
Kai took a deep breath and took a step forwards. Towards Sunny.
Sunny looked at him, sensed his precense and left.
And that. That was the last time he saw Sunny in a while...
Sunny went into a secluded corner, grabbing a plate and stuffing it with some food. Ofcourse, as far as everyone else was concerned he didn't have anything good to eat... First in outskirts and then dhe to being stuck in the Dream Realm and the Nightmare.
And he liked to keep it that way.
It was easier for him.
Convinient.
He suddenly sensed a shadow approaching him... It was Seishan of Song.
