Rain's POV
I froze.
The moment I heard his name, every muscle in my body stiffened like stone.
The fuck?
I spun around, glaring at the announcer like maybe he'd made a mistake — like maybe he'd swallowed his own tongue and called out the wrong name.
Alpha Batista.
No. No way.
My eyes darted to the entrance, and there he was.
It was him.
Him.
For a split second, my mind tried to convince me it was a dream, some sick, twisted joke my brain cooked up to mess with me. But it wasn't.
It was real.
Painfully, disgustingly real.
And as he stepped closer, my blood boiled.
Rage, hot and wild, surged through every inch of me like a storm. My hands shook. My heart pounded so hard against my ribs I thought it might burst out of my chest.
So, Dan and Victoria did it.
Those sneaky, backstabbing, cowardly pieces of shit.
They really pulled it off.
Kicked him out of his own pack.
Serves him right.
What goes around… comes around.
I locked my gaze with his, and it was all there.
