In the medical room, Chloe felt a slight headache as she observed her somewhat despondent Primeape.

Just a few days ago, it had been promoted to B-level. It had been so elated then, prancing around with childish glee.

Now it resembled a defeated warrior at the foot of a mountain, completely stripped of its former arrogance.

But that was understandable.

Two months ago, it had battled Elekid on relatively equal terms, even demonstrating superior strength. Yet in today's match, despite their three-against-one advantage, they had been utterly crushed.

This sensation of being overtaken and then left far behind was deeply unpleasant...

It had dealt a severe blow to Primeape's self-confidence.

"Monster," Jordan muttered indistinctly while munching on potato chips. "Listen, Chloe, don't even think about revenge in the future. We're in the same class as that Roy guy—we're just unlucky. Accept it."

Chloe responded angrily, "I never had any illusions about that."

The bespectacled girl sighed, "With our group defeated, we can only watch Cade's team now. Besides them, no one can stop Roy."

And indeed, this proved true.

In the subsequent team battle assessments, Roy continued to deploy only Elekid from start to finish, securing twelve consecutive victories with absolutely overwhelming advantages.

It was as if a legendary boss had appeared in a beginner village, employing ruthlessly effective tactics.

"Just like Lucario before him, in two months, Elekid has become another B+ grade Pokémon with no weaknesses," Elon murmured, his face expressing disbelief. "This rate of progress is terrifying... Is Roy actually capable of producing such monstrous Pokémon?"

Earlier, Elon had reasoned that Elekid's comprehensive evaluation had reached B+ level, but that had been mere speculation, not certainty.

It wouldn't have been advisable to state it definitively—what if it had been a fluke?

But after so many battles, Elekid had performed with remarkable consistency, his overall capabilities completely outclassing all opposing Pokémon.

"B+ level—meeting the standard for selection to the school team."

Brian experienced mixed emotions.

Even Elekid, Roy's most recently acquired Pokémon, now possessed the strength worthy of main team selection. So how powerful must Lucario, Roy's ace Pokémon, be by now?

Brian didn't know, but he understood that reclaiming his honor or his school team qualification from Roy was now impossible.

In terms of raw strength, Roy had surpassed him.

Based on current trends, this gap would only widen...

Elon noticed the expression of acceptance on Brian's face and smiled slightly.

Brian had finally come to terms with his loss to Roy.

That was appropriate.

Competing against a monster who crushed his entire generation was merely an exercise in frustration—thinking otherwise meant reality hadn't been harsh enough.

Elon knew a senior who had graduated from Capital University. Two years ago, that senior had been promoted to a higher rank and had just won the position of school team captain.

Then the 'Dragon King' had taken it away.

Yet, didn't that senior live happily every day now?

The secret was simple: don't compare yourself to the 'Dragon King.'

Compared to that senior's traumatic experience, Elon felt quite fortunate.

He would graduate next year, and Roy would never have the opportunity to take his captain position.

Heh-heh.

After crushing another opponent, Elekid happily returned to Roy's side.

The masochistic training had paid off remarkably quickly.

Looking at the opponents he had defeated, Elekid instantly felt that all the pain he'd endured during training had been worthwhile.

He had truly become stronger.

"Well done," Roy praised.

Achievements meant nothing without recognition, like wearing brocade clothes in darkness.

Wasn't the purpose of training hard and practicing to experience the sweet taste of victory?

Providing Elekid with positive feedback from battle was one of Roy's objectives in sending him to compete.

Another goal was...

"Is the combat experience still not enough?" Roy muttered.

Elekid's strength had already met the conditions for evolution.

What was missing was the trigger for evolution.

There were many potential evolution triggers, and accumulating combat experience was the most common method.

This had been the case with Wartortle before.

To increase battle difficulty and gain more experience, Roy had even forbidden Elekid from using the 'Armor of Lightning.'

However, despite participating in numerous battles, the Electric-type showed no signs of evolving.

Walking back to the lounge with Elekid, Roy continued pondering the reason, murmuring to himself:

"For Elekid's evolution, what's missing..."

Just then, an emotionless voice sounded behind Roy.

"Ordinary combat experience is insufficient."

Roy was startled—his Aura sensing abilities had completely failed to detect someone approaching.

The only person capable of such stealth was the renowned 'Psychic Queen.'

Sure enough, when Roy turned around, he saw Caroline with her cold expression and eyes as clear as summer spring water.

If a master Aura user couldn't detect her, how powerful must this woman's psychic abilities be?

"Miss Caroline, have you heard this saying?" Roy asked solemnly. "A wound on the back is a swordsman's disgrace!"

"Are you a swordsman?" Caroline tilted her head expressionlessly.

"No," Roy sensed she didn't understand jokes and said frankly, "What I mean is, don't speak suddenly behind people—it's startling."

"I see."

Caroline responded without emotion.

Then she looked at the alert Elekid, her eyes shimmering slightly.

"Ordinary combat experience won't suffice."

"What it needs is a battle opportunity that pushes its potential to the absolute limit."

The topic abruptly returned to their earlier conversation, and Roy was momentarily confused before realizing she was discussing Elekid's evolution.

"What's your basis for saying that?" Roy asked curiously.

"Because I saw it."

Caroline's eyes returned to Roy's face and remained fixed there.

"I can see the future."

"...Future Sight?"

"Yes."

Roy pondered this information carefully.

Future Sight—there was a Psychic-type move by that name.

But Caroline clearly wasn't referring to the move, but rather the literal meaning: she could glimpse fragments of the future.

In the Pokémon world, many powerful Psychics possessed this Future Sight ability.

For instance, Sabrina, another trainer known as the 'Psychic Queen.'

Additionally, Olympia, the Psychic Gym Leader in the Kalos Region, had accurately predicted the region's potential destruction crisis a year in advance. Her predictive abilities were considered among the strongest of any known individual.

Clearly, Future Sight wasn't mere superstition but important information worthy of consideration.

"I understand. Thank you for the guidance, Caroline."

Roy expressed his gratitude with a smile.

Caroline didn't respond verbally but continued staring directly at Roy's face. Perhaps due to her overwhelming psychic power, her gaze seemed capable of penetrating all barriers to glimpse one's deepest secrets, creating an unsettling feeling.

Wait, Future Sight...

Could she have seen something about him?

He harbored many secrets...

Roy suddenly felt nervous.

"I need to prepare for the final match."

Roy made his excuse and walked away.

Caroline made no attempt to stop him.

Before entering the lounge, Roy glanced back at Caroline and found her still watching him intently.

The final match would begin soon.

His opponents would be Cade, Jace, and Axel's team, who had also secured twelve consecutive victories.

However, Roy's mind wasn't focused on the upcoming battle at all, but rather on Caroline.

Considering various indicators, he suspected she might have some psychological issues...

To be blunt, she might suffer from mental illness.

Due to overdeveloped psychic abilities, psychic individuals experienced the world differently from ordinary people, and most developed peculiar personalities. Like Sabrina in the television series, who transformed people into dolls and kept them as pets—her father would have suffered the same fate had he not escaped quickly.

For some reason, Caroline had clearly taken an interest in him.

...It was somewhat unnerving, honestly.

Two-dimensional yandere characters were entertaining in fiction, but three-dimensional ones were terrifying in reality.

Roy didn't narcissistically believe Caroline had fallen in love with him after only two meetings. More likely, she had glimpsed some future involving him...

"What future could she have seen that makes her so interested?"

Roy pondered this question until he took his position on the bench.

"Please choose your battle Pokémon!"

The referee's announcement brought Roy's attention back to reality, and he threw his Poké Ball.

Once again, Elekid entered the battle on his side.

But his three acquaintances' Pokémon had changed from what Roy remembered.

Axel's Sandslash...

Jace's Ivysaur...

Cade's Kadabra...

No—the moment Kadabra appeared on the field, it received a psychic boost from Cade and evolved into Alakazam.

In its final form, Alakazam's presence rose dramatically, instantly surpassing both its teammates.

Through Roy's Aura perception, its bioenergetic fluctuations equaled those of Elekid at normal output.

"Psychic trainers are all so unfair," Axel complained irritably.

"Couldn't agree more," Jace added enviously.

"Hmph," Cade twisted his mouth into a smirk.

Currently, the ace Pokémon of first-year recommended students averaged around B-level in comprehensive evaluation.

Under normal circumstances, Kadabra was B-level, but after undergoing psychic-induced evolution, it rose to B+.

Regardless of methods, Cade hadn't failed to uphold his reputation as the "Son of the Psychic Master" by cultivating a Pokémon worthy of the school team's main selection within two and a half semesters.

If not for Roy, he would undoubtedly be the chief.

After glancing at Elekid, Cade shook his head and addressed Roy with a sigh: "Arrogance is the original sin... You taught me this truth. Now, I'll return the lesson."

Alakazam alone matched Elekid, not to mention the three-against-one advantage.

From Cade's perspective, the battle was decided the moment Roy chose Elekid over Lucario.

"Is that so?"

Roy shrugged noncommittally.

This guy... his sister just scared me half to death, and now he dares to act smug...

Time to take out my frustrations on him.

"Elekid."

"End this battle instantly!"

Elekid seemed momentarily startled, then immediately understood Roy's meaning.

No holding back—use full power...

Following the referee's "Begin!" command, Elekid suddenly released his restraints, unleashing the thunder beast within.

KRZZZT!

Violent blue-white electricity erupted outward, creating thunder that sounded like a thousand birds chirping in unison.

Bathed in lightning, Elekid's normally black body markings began glowing with fluorescent blue light, flickering between brightness and shadow...
