Camellia, always remember that I will always...Please...
"..."
Fragments of a memory long gone went through my head. I let out a sigh "why am I remembering all of this now of all times?"
The descent went to a halt and the darkness began to disippate. It was a rather large flat room something akin to a warehouse. The floor was dyed with a messy array of colors. Think of a canvas where you just splashed every single color.
At the perimeter of the place I saw 10 different people. They looked nothing out of the ordinary, save for all of us wearing the same matching white gown that reached up to the ankles. Six women and five men huh.
A voice echoed throughout the room.
"The rules are simple, all you have to do is kill each other until seven is left. Easy right?" After that disturbingly nonchalant delivery the God chuckled to themselves. Concerned, one of us called out to them.
"Hey! That's insane! Do you think we could just kill each other that easily?!?!"
"Hmmm....I guess you're right forgive me for my oversight. Here, you all get a little dagger to speed things up. Don't want things to unnecessarily drag on now do we?"
"Wha- T-that's not what I meant! Do you think we couls just take another persons life like it's nothing!!? He acclaimed, clearly shaken up by the turn of events.
"Hehehehe, you humans really are shameless creatures aren't you? I handpicked all of you!! I know very well what each and every one of you sick, vile creatures are capable of! That is why you are here to entertain. You will be offered no salvation, no kindness and no remorse for it is merely what you deserve.
The man let out a relieved sigh as if he heard exactly what his heart desired.
The mood around the room turned tense. I looked around and all of them had eyes of a killer. Resolved and steeled to take another life. I must say though, I wanted a thrill but to take another life... perhaps this was what they meant with the saying "be careful what you wish for".
"Alright then when the countdown reaches zero you are free to do as you please! Well then, three! ZERO!!!"
They started rushing each other like wild beasts. Judging from how they move I stood no chance. So i had a plan. The pillar I stood on was black and naturally that blended in well with the darkness. Whilst the fighting began I sneakily grabbed hold of the ledge of my pillar and simply held on until the fighting finished. As a man who has lived a lengthy 22 years of his life I'd say I've went through a couple of odd and laborious jobs every now and then much off the likes of carpentry, sewage work and other stuff I'd rather not recall. But still I guess it did do wonders for my physical strength. I'd say i could hang on this ledge for 5 minutes more until I give in. It's no easy task but it's better than staining my hands with blood.
"Please don't kill me!" She pleaded. I stared at here eye to eye with my cold unshaken gaze. It may as well tear a hole into her, I was staring so intensly.
That distasteful memory came back to me as I push my dagger deeper into the screaming man in front of me. "I..didnt want to do this. I'm tired of living like this. But I'm sorry I have things yet to be done." The man replied with curses before he took his last breath. I looked around it seems that the fighting had come to a close. I felt relieved. I approached the remaining people. Hm? Theres only six of us left. I wonder how that voice would deal with this sort of problem. Knowing that they're pretty much god though, they could just simply revive one of us.
"Get away from me! Don't you dare come close!" The woman scowled. "Relax, we already have enough people to qualify. This situations insane enough as it is. Thinning the herd even more wont do us any favors you know?" She glared but I could see that she wasn't as tense as before knowing I wasn't after her life. "Well then what do you want?" She said, matter of factly. "My names Aster what yours?"
"We doin introductions now?" She scoffed at my remark clearly uninterested. "Don't get it wrong just because I'm entertaining this dialogue doesn't mean that I hold any speck of trust for you alright?"
Before I could reply the voice came back. It seems that it really is over. "Well done everyone, to think that one of you would get by without killing anyone is rather... intriguing. Looking puzzled I scanned my surroundings to see a tiny figure in the distance. How impressive... did he hold onto that ledge the entire time? "Now then let's get you back up here" with a snap of a finger I found myself back at the red pillar I stood on earlier.
"Well then now that we're all here shall I elaborate on this fun little game of ours?"
