Yetao was wandering across an endless field made of carnations. He felt scared but was lost in its beauty.
"Did I go into another world now? Or did I die and go to heaven?", Yetao was confused.
After a long walk, he saw a human figure far across the field. Relieved and excited, Yetao ran towards the figure, only to get surprised.
"Jeff Gege's mom?", Yetao shouted in surprise and the lady looked at him.
"You came here, my child?", Linda smiled brightly and hugged Yetao who just stood there still.
"I don't know how I can thank you, but you did something great", as Linda cupped Yetao's cheeks, happy tears started to flow out of her cheeks like pearls.
Yetao felt relieved after seeing her smile after a long tragedy but was confused by her presence.
"Aaron always did whatever he wants. The only regret in my life was saving that evil man for once when he was injured near our clan. But I did not think his greed would be far as to be cold towards his own child and killing an innocent child", Linda claimed as her face saddened.
"Aaron must be Jeff's father", Yetao thought to himself.
"The members of wolf clan have a special power. Power to make our last wish come true. We can't ask to kill or save a life. But rather than that, however absurd it maybe... it occurs. You know what Barcode's last wish was?", Linda's expression softened.
"He wanted Jeff to know that his mother loved him dearly. So when his body started to perish, his spirit got preserved in a memory gem. I was the one who hid that within the carnations with my familiar", Linda welled up tears again.
Author's note: A familiar is a spirit or an animal which has contract with it's master and obeys each and every command of its master.
"By familiar, you mean....", Yetao was about to guess but Linda cut the sentence by answering, "The mole"
Yetao was bewildered.
"But why did you hide it? You could've gave it to Jeff gege directly right?", Yetao was bewildered.
"I was actually about to do that but..... someone said fate will find its way to make my wish come true if I placed that in something that is more precious to all three of us within 300 years", Linda stated.
"And that place is the flowerbed?", Yetao put the pieces together and Linda nodded gently.
"And my wish was to see my Jeff being loved. You made that come true, my child. If Jeff have gone through his memory lane alone, he couldn't have saved Barcode and would only be a bystander. It's something about you that brought him back", Linda smiled in relief.
"Wait. So someone knew that this would happen? With the exact timeline? May I know who said such a thing to you ma'am? And what's with me being the one?", Yetao was curious but also suspicious about the person.
"I just know he was an immortal. He had this strange aura around him which made me believe in him and it actually came true. I was about to summon my familiar and take it to Jeff, but fate really played well", Linda laughed.
"An immortal? But.... immortals are enemies of demons, aren't they? Should I ask her or not? But wait, how do I get out of here?" Yetao was conflicted with his thought and Linda noticed it.
"Don't worry, my child. You're in my space. The space I created to protect Jeff. Since you changed the child's fate, your body was already exhausted. When you had the scale, your body was about to perish. But I sucked you to my space. I was actually unsure, but considering how you even changed that child's fate, I kind of expected it" Linda stated with a soft smile which made Yetao to be even more confused.
"But... ma'am, how did I go inside the memory? Wasn't it already a past?", Yetao was puzzled.
"Well, Barcode's soul was basically trapped in it. That could be one of the reasons on how you could save him. But, I guess that was also something related to the strange energy you're having in your body. Some energy I've never seen in my lifetime. Or could it be your mark? I don't know", Linda tried to examine the energy but she couldn't understand what it is.
"A mark?", Yetao checked his body to see if any tattoos were there.
"You can't see the mark? Give me your hand", Linda held Yetao's hand and a mark glowed golden upon his left wrist.
"Whoa!!! A glowing tattoo? It's cool but looks dangerous to me though. What's this?", Yetao forced a smile and Linda chuckled.
"You are a lively kid. But this mark.... I believe its good if you doesn't know what it is", Linda observed the mark with a worried expression.
"No. I can't sleep at night if I have an invisible tatt.... I mean a mark and doesn't know why is it even there. Will you tell me? Pretty please?", Yetao pulled out his cute card but Linda dodged it.
"I can't tell you what it is. But I'll give you this in return for your favour" Linda gave a pouch full of grade-1 elixirs.
"Huh? Pills? For what?", Yetao was perplexed.
"You just have this friend who's giving up on all his life energy to wake you up right now. I believe, you'll need it to save him", Linda beamed.
As she was speaking, Yetao felt himself to be disappearing from the surroundings and was shocked.
"Huh? What's happening? Why am I vanishing?", Yetao panicked.
"You're about to return, my child. And I believe its my time to take my leave to the afterworld too. Afterall, Jeff has someone precious by his side now. When you meet Jeff again, just tell him not to cry over me. All I want is his happiness. And you too....fi....y...h....am....ord" Linda's voice started to disappear since Yetao's consciousness started to vanish from her space.
"Huh? What was she saying?", Yetao woke up from his deep slumber and opened his eyes slowly but was shocked to see Bambam by his bedside panting and sweating in overexertion.
"Bambam?", Yetao was so worried that he tried to move and touch Bambam.
"You're... alright?", Bambam was relieved to see Yetao wake up and fell unconscious.
Yetao panicked and tried to call for help, but he noticed something in his pockets as he was being shaken. It was Linda's elixirs. Without a second thought, he fed a pill to Bambam's mouth, but it kept staying there even after he tried to push it with his fingers.
Knowing that this isn't a moment for hesitation, Yetao grabbed Bambam's chin and fed it with his mouth. Bambam suddenly came to partial consciousness and pinned Yetao down to the bed.
Within Yetao could catch his breath, Bambam kissed him leaving Yetao's pupils to be frozen in shock. Yetao didn't have time to process what's happening at the moment.
When both were lost in their own worlds, Yetao heard Jackson's voice.
"Bambam? I arrived with the physician", Jackson shouted as he was walking towards the door.
Being panicked out of his wits, Yetao pushed Bambam with all his might but he was like an unmovable mountain. Yetao grabbed the elixir pouch and hit Bambam's head to snap him out of it, but he passed out as he was only half-awake.
Yetao was shocked and Jackson entered the room.
"Bambam?", Jackson was worried.
"Huh? Did I kill him with this pouch?", Yetao panicked in his thoughts and Jeff and Barcode arrived after him with a doctor.
"You alright, kid? You didn't wake up for 2 hours and this guy lost it. Wait...but why is this guy passed out now?", Jeff was confused as the physician checked Bambam.
"Is he alright? He was giving his spiritual energy to Yetao for a while to wake him up. Please tell me something elder", Jackson worried.
"He gave me his life energy? But why?", Yetao was concerned.
"Hmmm.....He's more than alright. He's just sleeping. It's impossible to recover so fast after transferring your spiritual energy. By chance, did you give him any elixirs? But even grade-2 will take its time to heal though?", the physician was more confused by Bambam's speedy recovery.
Yetao let out a sigh of relief that Bambam is alright.
"I gave him grade-1 elixir. Maybe that's why", Yetao said innocently which made everyone flabbergasted.
"Why...Why are y'all like that?", Yetao felt embarrassed by their stare.
"Grade-1? Where did you get it, my child? I'll give you a 1000 year old ginseng. Can you tell me?", the physician got excited.
"Is it a rare item or something?", Yetao was puzzled.
"Rare? It's almost extinct. I've never seen one in real life in my 1500 years. How did you get it?", the physician's statement made Yetao bewildered but he took his time to answer him.
"Um....sorry. But it's not for sale", Yetao forced a smile and politely rejected the offer which made the physician disappointed.
After putting Bambam to sleep in his bed and examining Yetao, the physician left.
"Yetao, where did you get the elixir?", Jackson interrogated him and the other two were curious as well.
Yetao sighed and prepared himself to tell the truth. He slowly went to Jeff and hesitated for a bit.
"I....I met your mom after I lost my consciousness...", Yetao said everything that's happened in Linda's space except about the mark.
Jeff let out happy tears.
"So she was here all along , huh? Good that she decided to rest in peace after such a long journey full of pain", Jeff said with a teary smile.
"I'm sorry that I thought you were my dad and.... thank you", Barcode thanked Yetao and Yetao accepted it with a smile.
Jackson observed the whole situation and remained silent even though he was worried about something. Jeff noticed it and waited for a time to ask about it alone.
Meanwhile, Barcode kept looking at Yetao's hands and showed a conflicted expression.
"Um... can I speak with you for a moment?" Barcode asked Yetao carefully and he agreed even though he doesn't have a clue on why Barcode's having such an expression in his face.
They went to the garden and Barcode checked his surroundings to see anybody's there before speaking to Yetao which made Yetao to feel confused, yet he remained silent.
"Gege.... do you know how you got this?", Barcode pointed Yetao's wrist where he has the mark.
"You can see this? Do you know what this is?", Yetao was surprised and Barcode hesitated.
"I don't know much details about what's the meaning behind it. But I know its because of someone from the wolf clan", Barcode stated.
"Wolf clan? Is that why only you and Jeff gege's mom could see it? Then can Jeff gege can see it too? He might know what it is right?", Yetao was curious.
"I don't think so. He's only a half-wolf and only a very few people knows to interpret the meaning behind the mark, since these are so rare. Did ma'am not tell you what it is?" Barcode inquired.
"No. She said its better if I don't know about it", Yetao sulked.
"Ma'am always has reason behind her actions and for some reason, the energy coming out of the mark is..... quite sad", Barcode's face saddened.
"She had this same expression too. Just what is it?", Yetao couldn't handle the suspense.
"I don't know. But I hope you cover it well gege. If other wolf clan members see it, it might be dangerous. We can't trust anyone when we don't know what it is", Barcode worried about Yetao and Yetao accepted the fact that he can't trust anyone here.
After a few minutes of conversation with inquiring what happened in the 2 hours, Yetao remembered something suddenly and snickered.
"By the way, did you give the book to Jeff gege?", Yetao gave out a sneaky smile.
"You probably saw it was burned by his father. But Jeff gege has already collected all my drafts and kept it safe. I'll remake it once again", Barcode smiled innocently not understanding the meaning behind the sentence.
"I don't think he burned both of your books though. What was it? I believe I read some love story between a wolf and a black dragon", Yetao teased him which made Barcode flushed.
"How did you know about the book? Did Jeff gege read it too?", Barcode was scared.
"Why are you shivering like you'll die this instant? Chill. No one but me has read it because I used that guest room. I believe the book's still there", Yetao's statement made Barcode relieved.
"But I must say, you're my favourite webtoon creator now. Your BL was so perfect", Yetao turned into fan mode.
"Web..toon? BL?", Barcode was confused since he's hearing some strange words.
"I'm just telling you that your love story was great in all aspects. So, did you confess to him and made the story real? Then what did he reply? Did he recite the words from the book or something? Wait... I can't ask you something personal, right? But I really want to know the ending of the web... I mean the book. You've completed it with a sad ending for such a lovely story", Yetao was excited and kept bombarding Barcode with questions.
Barcode got overloaded and his mind couldn't process all the interrogation all at once. Hence he dodged it with one bullet.
"Rather than that, I believe you have to take care of this first", Barcode pointed Yetao's lips which had a bit of smudged lip balm on it.
"And I guess it wasn't there when you fell unconscious. I remember well as the last person who saw you from close", Barcode squinted his eyes and laughed playfully.
"That's..... I.... maybe it could've happened when I was asleep", Yetao forced a smile as he kept wiping his lips.
"You didn't move an inch gege. And I just have this one doubt. Did Bambam gege eat the pill and went to sleep? or did he sleep before eating the pill?", Barcode widened his eyes and asked Yetao to which he already knew the answer.
Yetao blushed like a ripe tomato.
"Of course he ate the pill and went to sleep. He's fine now, isn't he?", Yetao answered as he walked away from Barcode since he couldn't handle Barcode's detective senses.
Yetao quickly walked away from the place and walked without a direction.
"Whoa!!!How did he notice the tiny detail? Guess all the authors are like that. I gotta be careful with him", Yetao stopped.
"Careful with what? It's not like I'll continue doing it with him", Yetao denied his thoughts but he remembered the feeling when Bambam kissed him.
"It was soft...", Yetao mumbled.
"Ahhh..... What are these unholy thoughts?", Yetao slapped his cheeks and snapped back to reality as he kept walking until evening.
Without knowing, he arrived the place where Bambam is resting.
"Huh? I must be crazy", Yetao thought to himself. But he wanted to check on Bambam, since his condition is because of him.
Yetao went near Bambam, and sat near his bedside carefully without making a noise that could wake him up.
"Why did you exert yourself too much for saving me? Didn't you always love to fight with me?", Yetao sulked and looked at him carefully.
"He's really beautiful when he's quiet. If only that nasty mouth of his is half beautiful as him", Yetao's gaze wavered at his mouth.
Yetao, then unconsciously touched his mouth and blushed.
"I'll give a nice beating to this pervert when he wakes up", Yetao was suddenly furious that he got up and tried to get out.
But Bambam held his hand.
Feeling nervous and embarrassed by how to face him, he stood still without turning back.
"So you're not going to turn back after you used me now?", Bambam's hoarse voice managed to get out of his throat.
"Hah, used you? You're the....", within Yetao could complete his sentence Bambam pulled Yetao to him and Yetao fell on top of Bambam.
"Didn't you then? You were the one who kissed me first", Bambam was stern which made Yetao turn red.
"K....Kis...Kiss?...", Yetao felt embarrassed to see Bambam so close and his eyes kept on looking at his lips but he snapped back to reality after much struggle.
"I was just giving you the pill. Some nerve of you to say that, you homophobe. I just came to see if you're alright. Since you're alright, I'll go for now", Yetao broke free from Bambam's clutch and left the room hurriedly.
Bambam laughed at Yetao's cuteness after he left.
"I have a long way to go then?", Bambam placed his hands behind his head and slept on it using it like a pillow with all smiles.
The night went by quickly with Bambam slowly realising his love for Yetao and Yetao denying Bambam's intention towards him.
