...
Back in his room,
Ryuma, agitated, said to the system, "Hey, system, can you think of a way?"
"Ding-dong... Sorry, host, there are no recommendations. The shop currently doesn't have anything related to medicine."
Ryuma lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and said, "Then give me a chance to draw a prize! Let me try my luck."
But the system refused.
"Ding-dong... Sorry, host, you currently have no chances to draw a prize."
Ryuma almost cursed, "Damn it, a robot is a robot. Even its responses are so stiff. It's useless."
Ryuma sighed and shook his head.
Things weren't as simple as he thought.
There was no way to save Roger.
"Do I really have to kill Roger?" Ryuma wrestled with the thought.
After a while, Ryuma sighed, "Fine. Tomorrow, let Roger die a glorious death."
Ryuma made his decision.
Just as he was about to rest, a knock came.
Ryuma frowned, went to the door, and opened it. Silvers Rayleigh stood there.
Rayleigh seemed ten years older than the night before. They looked at each other in silence, the atmosphere awkward.
After a while, Rayleigh broke the silence, coughing lightly, "Why aren't you resting?"
Ryuma extinguished his cigarette, "I'm trying to save Roger."
Rayleigh nodded, sighing, "I'm grateful you saved my captain... Though he might die, you gave him dignity. He may not say it, but he's thankful."
Ryuma nodded, smiling, "It's nothing. I admire him, too. It's what I should do."
Rayleigh's lips curled slightly, "It's probably not that simple, is it?"
Ryuma's heart sank, "What do you mean? Tell me directly."
"You saved our captain for a reason, right?"
Rayleigh said seriously.
Ryuma nodded, "Yes, I have ulterior motives. I just want to make a name for myself. Isn't that what you pirates have been doing your whole lives? You seek freedom; I seek freedom of thought."
Rayleigh nodded, smiling, "I don't know what you mean, but it sounds noble."
Ryuma couldn't tell Rayleigh the truth about the system. Rayleigh would think he was crazy.
Silence fell again.
After a while, Rayleigh knelt before Ryuma!
Ryuma was startled, "What are you doing? Don't do this."
"Please... give my captain a quick death. I won't blame you. What do you say?"
Ryuma pondered. He didn't want to do this, but there was no other way.
Ryuma nodded, "Alright. But what's in it for me? Killing Roger won't benefit me; I might even be vilified."
Rayleigh nodded, "You're right, but being a hero is lonely... If you agree to kill Roger, I will join you."
Ryuma smiled and nodded. Rayleigh was powerful. Recruiting him would significantly increase his strength.
Ryuma nodded, "Really? If you're willing to join, I have no objections..."
"It's true. My captain is suffering. A quick death would be best."
Ryuma nodded, "I agree..."
...
The next day.
On the execution platform.
Ryuma looked seriously at Roger, bound to a cross.
Ryuma took a deep breath, "Roger, are you ready to die?"
Roger smiled slightly, nodded silently.
Ryuma felt a pang of guilt, but killing Roger would allow him to rebuild Wano and his ship, not to mention the ten chances to draw prizes.
Ryuma looked at Enel behind him, "Leave this to you. What do you think?"
Enel was surprised.
"What? Execute the King of the Blue Sea? Hahaha, this is an honor! If you trust me with this, I'll gladly do it!"
Ryuma sighed, relieved. A painless death was the best he could offer Roger.
