Jenny still can't sleep because of the premonition she saw about her sister Thalia. She can't close her eyes because she's afraid her ability will visit her again.
Thalia rarely replies to her since she arrived at their destination. She got up then. She didn't check what time it was on their clock. She left the room; she sat in the living room for now and pondered.
When she stepped out of the room, she suddenly saw a shadow; she got scared and grabbed the broom she found in the living room. Jenny looked to see who owned the shadow. She feared that ill-intentioned individuals might attack them.
She carefully looked to see who it was. She kept getting closer, and she saw the shadow of a child covered with a blanket.
"Greg?" she called.
Greg moved then, looking to see who had called. She even observed the child exhaling with a sense of relief.
"Sis!" Greg immediately hugged her.
"Why aren't you asleep yet? What are you doing here?" She kept asking her youngest sibling, one after another. The night is getting deeper, and he still hasn't gone to sleep in his room.
Greg shook his head; it seemed he was afraid of something. "I would rather not sleep, sis. They're talking to me." Greg is looking at her intently, and she can tell he's scared.
Them? Who? She wondered in her mind. "Who?" she asked.
"Will you believe me when I tell you, sis?" He asked, seemingly worried.
Jenny just sighed and felt pity for his youngest. She carried her to the kitchen.
"Just tell your story; I will listen to you." She said gently to her sibling.
"I see ghosts." He whispered in her ear.
Jenny looked at her brother; she could see in his eyes that he was serious about what he was saying.
She just nodded for him to continue the story.
"Sis, I see those spirits that are restless and cannot see the light."
"Why are they trying to contact you?"
"They want someone to help them."
Jenny just nodded.
"Sis Ellese and Felisa too; they are asking for help." Greg said.
Ellese and Felisa? She wondered in her mind.
Where have I heard that name before? Jenny is thinking deeply.
She suddenly swallowed at the answer her mind provided.
"What caused their deaths?" Jenny asked. "Are you hiding because they are threatening you?" She asked.
"They are not, sister. Those souls remain undiscovered, sister.
The hair on her arms stood up, as well as on the back of his neck. "Who are they?"
"Women, it's terrifying, terrifying what they are going through. Their deaths are terrifying. I'm afraid to sleep because I see what happens to them in my dreams."
Jenny saw the eyes of little Greg filled with fear.
"Sis, they said, Sis Felisa, Sis Thalia, is in danger." Greg added.
When did my little brother suddenly gain this ability? She wondered in her mind.
"Ellese and Felisa are seeking justice." He added.
"They won't stop, sis."
Her palms clenched at that moment. Jenny still pretends to be blind to the truths she has gathered.
Jenny knows about the death of the siblings. Jenny knew because of her ability. She also knew that before her cousin died, her cousin had joined an organization, an organization where there was a lot of profit; they would just wait for a call to see whose life would be taken.
She covers up and pretends not to see because she doesn't want her sibling to get involved. But, in their current situation, it seems like karma is catching up with them. That's why she doesn't want to use her ability.
"Sister, they warned that if greed doesn't end, many more will suffer."
"Sis, there will be more victims."
I know! I understand! What I see in my dreams is slowly coming true. What can I do? What can I do? If I'm just an ordinary person among those who hold positions of authority, what can I do? She found herself questioning in her mind, clenching her fists tightly.
Jenny simply embraced her sibling. She cannot communicate with or see the restless souls. She is afraid of what will happen to her younger sister and Ruth.
"Sis, they have a message for you."
"Who?" she asked then.
"Sis Felisa, she said, be strong."
She just nodded. She glanced at the clock; it was almost midnight. Sleep has not visited her yet.
Ellese and Felisa Fuego came from a wealthy clan; their family is well-known in society, with many properties and haciendas. She thought to herself.
Jenny vividly recalls the moment the news of the two siblings' murders broke, sparking a flurry of speculation. The news suggests that their father's numerous rivals in business and on his haciendas may have killed the siblings. Benedict Fuego felt immense sorrow at the death of his two children, who were the only memories of his wife's passing.
Some claim that he murdered his first and second wives for unidentified reasons.
Their world is chaotic now; even though they live quietly, there are events that disrupt their lives.
If I had used this ability correctly, I wouldn't have any regrets, and the two siblings who died would still be alive. Blaming herself, she tightly embraced her younger sibling back then.
She feels regret throughout her entire body, just as she felt when she regretted not stopping her father and mother from leaving and getting into an accident.
"Sis, I have something to tell you."
She then turned to face her sibling, who was safe in her embrace.
"The deaths of our mother and father were not an accident." Her sibling looked at her intently.
She suddenly stared, wondering if she heard correctly.
"W—What do you mean, Greg?" She questioned Greg, feeling confused and unable to understand.
"It's true, sis; their murder wasn't an accident." This is what he said to her.
Killed? She wondered in her mind. For what reason? Her mind was in turmoil; her younger brother wasn't lying.
Jenny didn't ask anymore; she knew her older brother was hiding something. Jenny needs to ask him. She needs to talk to him to answer the questions flooding her mind.
