The ship jolted violently again, sending both Kaelen and Mira crashing to the floor. The sound of metal tearing echoed through the hull as the Vigilant lurched to the side. The entity was gone, but something far more terrifying had replaced it.
Mira scrambled to her feet, her eyes wide with fear. "We have to get out. We don't have much time!"
Kaelen grabbed her arm, his mind racing. "The signal—it's from a ship. Whoever they are, they've found us. We can't run."
Mira's eyes flicked to the viewport, where a dark shape loomed just beyond the edge of the ship's sight. It was too massive to be anything human, its edges jagged, like some alien war machine designed for destruction.
"No," Kaelen whispered, dread crawling up his spine. "No, this can't be happening."
The massive vessel drew closer, its surface covered in strange markings and symbols Kaelen couldn't recognize. The air around them seemed to warp as it approached, as if the very fabric of space was bending under its power.
The Vigilant was no longer alone.
