Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Ahmaya awakens as the sunlight from the window falls on her head; she opens her eyes and rubs them. She looks out the window and notices the gorgeous beauty of the lake in the morning. Because the water is illuminated by sunshine, she can see more fish than she can at night.

Far away from the window, she sees Ayani's dad standing in the water with a woman. Ignoring him, she gets up to drink some water. Suddenly, a thought crosses her mind. She once more gazes out the window and recognises the woman She is Gyanwati, from Paatallok, the person who kidnapped her. "What is Ayani's dad doing with her?" Her faith in Ayani's father has begun to erode, as she is confused. "Why is he chatting with the Lady of Evils? Is there something Ayani is not telling me?"

.

"Why are you here?" The father asks Gyanwati softly.

"Master allowed me two days to bring your daughter's dead body. That is why I am here to warn you. Tell her to give up her powers." She responds.

"She is not going to surrender." His tone became rude and a little agitated.

"Then I don't have any other choice." She warns.

"I will not let you touch her."

"You can't stop me."

"What has happened to you? What have you made of yourself? This is not you."

"This is me. Look at me with your wide-open eyes. And you..... are wondering... what have I created of myself? You pushed me into that dark world." She murmurs with hatred as small tears well up in her eyes.

"No, it was not me. No matter what my decision had been, you would have still gone there; whatever you are doing today, you would have done then as well."

"I am not here to listen to your assumptions. I am giving you today.... to spend it with your daughter, because tomorrow she will be dead."

"You will not be able to touch her."

As she smirks with rage and annoyance and prepares to go... With a hint of hesitation, Ayani's father says, "How have you been?"

She doesn't respond and leaves.

After his dialogue with Gyanwati, he visits Ahmaya.

"I brought some breakfast for you. Did you think about the correct answer?"

"What were you doing with her?" Ahmaya asks, her eyes filled with doubt.

"With whom?"

"The evil woman from pataallok"

"It's none of your business." He tries to sidestep the question.

"I know how awful she is. I cannot trust you until you tell me."

"So, you are a curious and furious one. Also, she is not that evil; she simply joined hands with the evil." His father replies with a grin.

"Why you are taking her side."

"I am not taking her side; I am just telling you the truth."

"She was about to cut your daughter's leg last time."

"Did she cut it?"

"We managed to escape because my power was summoned, so the answer is no." The expression on Ahmaya's face is one of evident irritation.

"She probably was merely trying to frighten you guys; even if your powers hadn't been awakened at that moment, she still wouldn't have done anything to her."

"What are you trying to say?"

"She only needs power. To be honest, she could easily kill my daughter, but she hasn't done so because she doesn't want to; she simply wants our powers."

"Why are you defending her?" Ahmaya appears angered.

"I am telling you the truth. Do you know who she is? Her name is Gyanwati because she is full of knowledge and wisdom." The dad replies.

(In Hindi, Gyan means knowledge and wisdom, and Wati means possessing or having. So, Gyanwati means one who possesses knowledge.)

"Just answer my simple question, why was she here to meet you?"

"I told you it's none of your business... just spend your energy thinking about the correct answer if you wish to master your energy."

And he leaves.

The father's response to Ahmaya's enquiries has piqued her interest and left her with even more questions. Somehow, his statements made sense. She is so powerful that it would be easy for her to murder Ayani, so why hasn't she done it yet?

There's something going on.

The only person who can give Ahmaya answers is Ayani's father. She must gain his trust, become an excellent student, and eventually try to discover everything from him.

Her intuition tells her he's a good man; there are just a few things she needs to uncover in order to better understand this world.

Ayani's father returns to meet Ahmaya in the afternoon with some lunch, asking, "Have you thought of the correct answer?"

"Yes... I need to evoke my power so that I can make correct use of it so that I can eliminate the evil with it for which it has been given."

Ahmaya feels confident that this is the correct answer, having given it careful consideration.

The father sighs deeply, "That's a great realisation, but this is not the correct answer."

Ahmaya is now even more puzzled; if this isn't the correct answer, what is?

.

Ayani's father believes that Gyanwati will not hurt his daughter, but he is still concerned. She personally came to warn him, which is uncommon.

He quickly sends a message to Ayani, asking her to come to Nako as soon as possible. Ayani received her father's message, understood the urgency with which he wrote, and arrived at Nako as soon as she could.

"Dad, why did you invite me so urgently? Is something wrong?"

She sees his cousins, maternal uncle, and some other Aokma community relatives arrive.

She greets everyone and asks her father again. "What's going on, Dad? Why are they all here?"

His father responds with a sure and stressed expression. "I think….there will be a… war tomorrow."
