Chapter 14 - Hakujoudai and Kakujoudai

I stood off to the side, watching as Midoriya and Yaoyorozu stood at the front of the classroom, having just been appointed class president and vice president.

Father had stepped out for a moment to take care of something, leaving the students to chat among themselves.

"W-Why am I the class president…?" Midoriya stammered, clearly overwhelmed.

"Hmm… I wonder if Midoriya will make a good class rep," a girl's voice chimed in.

I turned to look and saw her—pink-skinned, jet-black eyes, and a small, curling horn on her head.

"You're Mina Ashido, right?" I asked with a cheerful smile.

She turned toward me, nodded, and returned my smile with one just as bright.

"Yeah, I'm Mina Ashido! Sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier."

I quickly shook my head.

"No, no, it's totally fine, Ashido-san. Really."

Ashido raised a fist with playful energy.

"Your Quirk is so cool! It's got that creepy but awesome vibe!"

I let out a small chuckle, scratching the back of my head awkwardly. Just then, Yaoyorozu approached, her expression sharp.

"Do you always have to flirt with every girl in the class? Honestly, you're disgusting," she said bluntly.

I raised an eyebrow, visibly offended. Just as I was about to respond, Ashido beat me to it.

"Ehhh?? What's wrong, Yaoyorozu-san? Are you… jealous? Oh no, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" she teased with a mischievous grin.

Yaoyorozu's eyes widened, and her face stiffened.

"What are you talking about, Ashido-san?! I've told you already—there's nothing going on between me and Aizawa-kun!"

But it was no use—Ashido's sly smirk only deepened.

"Yeah, yeah, sure… I get it."

A few other students began to notice the exchange. Kirishima walked over, intrigued.

"Hey Aizawa, seriously though—what is your Quirk? I've been dying to know. Is it, like, some kind of illusion?"

Hearing the topic shift to Quirks, Midoriya immediately approached with eager eyes, though he said nothing. Iida joined too, moving with his usual formality.

"No, I doubt it's an illusion," Iida said, adjusting his glasses.

More students began to gather around, while others simply listened in from their seats.

"Come on, Aizawa-kun," Ashido coaxed. "Tell us!"

I opened my palm, and from it, Hakujoudai floated into the air—causing everyone to jolt in surprise.

"Whoa… that's Hakujoudai, right?" Kirishima asked, eyes wide.

I gave a small nod as Kakujoudai appeared next, gliding through the air in gentle loops.

"Basically, Hakujoudai and Kakujoudai can grant anything I wish for—so long as the probability isn't zero or outright impossible."

A collective silence fell over the group. Everyone seemed to hold their breath. Even Bakugo looked stunned, halfway rising from his seat.

"Wait… that sounds insane," Kirishima murmured, completely floored.

I offered a faint smile at the praise.

"But the truth is… even if it sounds powerful and effective, Hakujoudai and Kakujoudai aren't practical or efficient."

Midoriya's eyes widened.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

I paused, then looked straight ahead.

"It's like folding a million paper cranes… just to reach the moon. And I fold them.".

"Hey… when you think about it, Aizawa-kun is kind of terrifying," Kirishima muttered, stirring his food absentmindedly in the cafeteria.

Iida let out a long sigh at the comment, adjusting his glasses before nodding.

"You're right, Kirishima. Sometimes he comes off as a bit of a prankster, but other times… there's something unsettling about him."

Midoriya sat quietly, eyes fixed on the untouched meal in front of him.

"I can't help but wonder… can a Quirk really work that way? Turning anything into reality… that's way beyond what we normally think is possible."

Iida crossed his arms, thoughtful.

"It's truly an incredible ability. I'm certain—he has the potential to become a remarkable hero."
