Chapter 4 - A serious beginning

At the base of the Academy attack squad of Umbra Manus—

"Everything was burned down because of the Sun Emperor," said a member of the investigation team from Craezent Watch. "He's just being ignorant because he's an Emperor. He even takes the Guildmaster's orders lightly."

"He's an Emperor in his 20s, but you're just an investigation team member in your 40s," said the team leader. "Let's focus on our work."

Everyone nodded.

Suddenly, two men entered the cave, wearing the same robes as the Umbra Manus members. However, the team leader noticed a difference—their crests were golden, signifying they were superior in rank and power.

One of them asked, "Are you the one who defeated that lowly vampire?"

"No, I'm not. He was defeated by the Sun Emperor."

"Ah, I knew it! You lowly humans don't have the power to beat him. So, wasn't the Sun Emperor your friend, Malverus?"

"Was. I'm not an Emperor anymore," said the other man.

"You! You're the Undead Emperor! The one who betrayed us and joined Umbra Manus for damn power! Because of you, my son died! I won't forgive you!"

He charged forward in rage, attacking Malverus like a fool. Suddenly, an undead creature appeared and killed him instantly.

Malverus replied coldly, "I have no use for your forgiveness."

The other robed figure charged at the remaining team members. His hands were those of a beast. He slaughtered all of them.

Afterward, they walked up to a glass container holding the vampire's ashes. Malverus brought out another vial filled with blood.

"Why did the Supreme Leader have to make this lowly vampire a monarch?" the beast-man asked.

Malverus instantly pulled out his scythe and pointed it at his companion's throat.

"Don't question his intentions."

"Okay, okay! Take the scythe away!"

Then, they poured the blood onto the ashes. Thanks to his healing factor, the vampire began to resurrect. He trembled in fear but smiled, as the blood used for his resurrection belonged to their leader—greatly enhancing his power.

Then they introduced themselves:

Malverus Dreadveil – the Undead Monarch

Vearnok Bloodfang – the Beast Monarch

The vampire knelt in reverence.

Malverus took out a scroll and read aloud, "Valcroz Nightthorn, from today onwards, you are the Blood Monarch by order of the Supreme Leader. Kneel before the Supreme Order."

The vampire kneeled and said, "I am honored to receive the Monarch title."

Then Malverus used his teleportation magic and left the cave.

Scene Shift

Royal Palace of Aurengard

Solarex was preparing to leave after receiving sudden information about the Gates. His siblings approached him.

"Are you leaving this quickly?" one of them asked.

"...Yes. If I don't, this world will be in grave danger. I believe we'll meet again," Solarex replied.

"Okay then... bye."

"Bye."

After bidding farewell to his siblings, Solarex mounted his griffin and soared into the sky.

As he traveled, many thoughts raced through his mind.

What are these Gates? What do they look like? Are there treasures hidden within? Will there be boss monsters guarding them? Can I beat them? Will they give me legendary items?

...blah blah blah...

After a long journey, he finally arrived at the guild building. He was so tired but it was a serious matter. He asked a member," Where's everyone?" He replied,"In the meeting room sir". He rushed to the meeting room, where Thalvion was discussing findings from the Aurengard Kingdom with the Guildmaster and the executives.

Solarex burst through the door, carrying books he had retrieved from the royal archive. Everyone turned in shock.

The Guildmaster shouted, "Don't you know anything about manners?!"

"This isn't the time to talk about manners!" Solarex snapped. "When Thalvion left the area, I went to the hidden prison. One of the prisoners mentioned something about a mirror and the Gates. After that, I went to the royal archive and found these."

He placed the books and records on the table.

The Guildmaster asked, "They let you enter the royal archive?"

Suddenly, Thalvion interjected, "You can discuss that later. Let's focus on the meeting."

The executives and the Emperors began reading the documents. Silence fell across the room as they processed the contents.

"These books are real," said the Crescent Emperor solemnly.

The statement froze the room in stunned silence.

The Guildmaster stood up. "This is an urgent matter. I will hold a continental meeting in seven days and invite all kings to report this crisis. Then will hold a world guild meeting. This is no longer just a continental issue—it's a threat to all of humanity. This meeting is dismissed."

Everyone left the room, but a heavy tension lingered behind.

A new mission was given to the Emperors:

Track down every Umbra Manus location. Destroy their bases. Kill or capture every member.

Thus, a serious chapter in history began...
