After a while of travelling in the carriage, they finally reached a huge mansion. It was just as pretty and serene as any other mansions of the noble people. Evelyn gazed at the view from the carriage window, then was suddenly interrupted by Ashley. She got out of the carriage and gestured Evelyn follow her.
"Um...miss..? This place is so pretty.. Why did you bring me here.?" Evelyn asked iut of curiosity. Ashley simply smiled and said, "Just follow me."
Evelyn then quietly followed her. She glanced back at the carriage, and saw the duke talking with someone. She looked away then continued to follow Ashley.
Ashley took her inside the mansion, where she guided her into a room. It wasn't that big, but also wasn't small.
"This is going to be your room from now." Ashley said. Evelyn looked so surprised and excited, she nearly cried.
"Really?? This room is so big, I've never seen a room this big in my whole life!" She said. She wasn't exaggerating though, except for the libraries, she hadn't been in any big room.
Ashley chuckled a bit, then said, "oh really? I'm happy you liked your room. Anyway, you should rest for now. It's already too late."
Evelyn nodded, but she looked at herself. She was dirty and filthy, so she couldn't possibly sleep without taking a bath.
"Miss, can I ask you something?" Evelyn said. Ashley knew exactly what she was gonna ask, looking at her state.
"I know.." she said, then guided Evelyn to the bathroom. It wasn't far from the room. "The clothes are in the closet of the room you're staying in. I'm sure you'll like it. Now I'll take my leave." Ashley said, before walking away.
Evelyn turned and went inside the bathroom. It was as big as the room she was staying in. Evelyn took a deep breathe then said, "It really feels like a dream..." Before taking off her clothes.
After taking a refreshing bath, she got out of the bathroom and went back to her room. She opened the closet in her room. Just as Ashley said, there were some clean clothes.
Evelyn felt really grateful towards all of the people who had "helped" her.
After changing clothes, she went to sleep. She had never slept on a bed so soft, she fell asleep instantly..
The next day, Evelyn woke up a bit late. It was already 10 am in the morning when she opened her eyes. She hurriedly went to search for Ashley.
"Oh no... It's my first day, and I'm already late! But wait, first day of what exactly?" She said as she searched for Ashley.
Oh her way, she bumped into a huge figure. She apologised immediately. "Ahh..I'm sorry! Really I'm sorry!" She said, lowering her head. It was the duke, of all people..!
