Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Might Guy returned to the memorial site and bowed deeply to Chen Baolong, offering a sincere apology for the misunderstanding.

He hadn't known that the legendary Taijutsu master, believed long dead, was still alive—and his aggressive reaction the previous day had been out of mistaken devotion.

Then, with unwavering eyes and burning spirit, Guy made a solemn request:

"Please, Teacher Chen, teach me your ultimate technique: the Wood Leaf Dragon God!"

Chen Baolong, however, had long given up on taking another disciple after the tragic death of his only student. He waved his hand dismissively, uninterested in entertaining such a notion, and turned to leave.

Seeing this, Guy's heart surged with urgency. He quickly called out:

"Teacher Chen, I'm not good at ninjutsu or genjutsu. Taijutsu is all I have! But even so, I want to prove that someone who walks the path of pure taijutsu can still become a great shinobi. Please, I ask you to believe in my resolve!"

Chen Baolong stopped in his tracks. Those words echoed from his past—his late disciple had once said the same thing.

Calmly, he turned back. "You still want to be a shinobi, even though you can't use ninjutsu?"

"Yes! I believe someone like you, the greatest Taijutsu user in the history of the Leaf Village, will understand my dream!"

But instead of encouragement, Guy was met with a fierce glare. Chen Baolong suddenly erupted:

"Fool! How can someone be a ninja without ninjutsu?! Let me show you just how foolish that dream is!"

In that moment, the figure of Guy overlapped with that of his late student. Rage and sorrow twisted together in Baolong's heart. Fueled by grief, he launched into an attack.

Guy, though caught off guard, wasn't the same inexperienced child as Lee in the original tale. Hardened by combat and determined by spirit, he countered.

Still, he was no match for the furious master. The fight ended quickly, and Guy was slammed into the ground, winded and defeated.

Akira, who had been watching from the shadows with his Mangekyō Sharingan, had hoped to copy a few techniques. But the fight ended too quickly for him to learn anything of substance.

Chen Baolong stood over Guy and scoffed, "You can't even perform ninjutsu. You'll never be a shinobi. Give up."

"Why... why do you say that?" Guy asked, shaken and confused.

Chen Baolong didn't answer. He turned and vanished, leaving Guy with a heart full of questions.

From then on, Guy came to the memorial stone every single day—rain or shine—waiting patiently for Chen Baolong. But the old master never spoke to him. He merely took the rice ball offering in silence and disappeared.

Akira, observing from afar, grew frustrated. He had hoped the tension between the two would erupt again so he could continue copying their advanced Taijutsu.

But both master and student had more patience than Akira anticipated.

One day, Akira approached Guy.

"If Teacher Chen won't teach you, maybe you should force him to use his technique again, like last time. Use your full strength and make him fight seriously. You might discover the secrets of the Wood Leaf Dragon God through battle."

Inspired, Guy agreed.

The next day, when Chen Baolong arrived at the grave, Guy stood tall, eyes blazing.

"I won't ask you to teach me anymore! I will force you to use the Wood Leaf Dragon God and learn it through my own strength!"

Without waiting, Guy activated the Eight Gates and charged.

Chen Baolong was enraged. "You reckless fool... so be it! If you wish to see it, I'll show it to you!"

He unleashed the Wood Leaf Dragon God.

A massive whirlwind surrounded him as a dragon-shaped vortex roared toward Guy. But Guy had activated the Gate of Pain, and unlike last time, he was prepared.

The clash was titanic.

This time, Guy didn't get overwhelmed immediately. He exchanged several moves with Baolong, giving Akira ample time to watch and analyze with his Sharingan.

But Guy soon discovered something startling. Not only was the Wood Leaf Dragon God overwhelmingly powerful, but it was also impenetrable—the vortex protected Chen Baolong like armor.

His attacks couldn't reach the core.

Despite the strain of the Eight Gates, Guy kept fighting, observing, thinking.

"It's like a tornado... where is a tornado weakest...?"

But the answer didn't come in time. His chakra dwindled, his speed dropped, and he was finally struck by the full force of the Wood Leaf Dragon God, collapsing once more.

Akira, however, saw everything clearly with his Sharingan. He spotted the weakness:

The eye of the storm—the center of the vortex—was where the airflow was weakest. That was the opening.

He didn't tell Guy. Not yet.

Chen Baolong stood over the unconscious Guy, conflicted. His heart wavered.

"He still couldn't figure it out. Maybe he'll give up now..."

He sighed and vanished into the trees.

But Akira knew this wasn't over. Not by a long shot.

Chen Baolong originally thought Might Guy wouldn't come back.

But Might Guy wasn't someone who gave up easily.

Especially after Akira told him the weakness of the Konoha Dragon God, Guy's confidence burned brighter than ever. He was certain—this time, he would last longer in battle and finally uncover the secret of the Konoha Dragon God.

When Chen Baolong returned to his usual spot near the grave, Guy was already there waiting.

"Teacher Chen, I've come again. Please use the Konoha Dragon God one more time! This time, I swear I'll see through it!"

Chen Baolong sighed. "Why are you so obsessed with the Konoha Dragon God?"

Guy clenched his fists. "It's not about the technique anymore. What matters now is proving that what you said before was wrong."

Chen Baolong had once told him that a person who couldn't use ninjutsu had no place being a shinobi. He believed it was a kindness, a necessary cruelty, to protect Guy from the same fate as his former disciple—who died in battle due to his inability to defend against ninjutsu.

Every time Baolong saw Guy, it reminded him of the one he had lost.

Guy, however, held a different conviction. "A ninja's worth isn't in their ninjutsu, genjutsu, or even taijutsu alone. It's in how far they'll go to protect what's important to them—even if it costs them their life."

His words struck a chord with Chen Baolong.

Guy stepped forward, determination blazing in his eyes. "That's why I need to show you. I need you to believe in my dream. Even a shinobi who only knows taijutsu can be strong enough to protect everything they hold dear."

Baolong's heart stirred. "Very well. I'll unleash the Konoha Dragon God one last time. Let's see if your dream can withstand it."

This time, Baolong didn't hold back. He unleashed the full might of the Konoha Dragon God—an immense whirlwind of chakra shaped like a dragon, roaring with violent winds and overwhelming power.

Akira, watching from afar with his Sharingan active, immediately noticed the difference in intensity. He had already copied 70 to 80 percent of the technique, and this final clash would fill in the gaps.

Guy knew it too. This wasn't the same as before. The Fourth Gate of the Eight Inner Gates, which had barely allowed him to keep up before, was now completely outpaced.

The overwhelming power of the Konoha Dragon God forced him into retreat. Even knowing the eye of the storm—the technique's sole weakness—he couldn't get close enough to strike.

There was only one path left.

He had to open the Fifth Gate—the Gate of Limit.

Baolong saw Guy struggling and shouted, "Give up! You're not strong enough. You never were!"

"No! I'll never give up!"

Memories of his father, Might Duy—the Eternal Genin—flashed through Guy's mind. For twenty years, his father never gave up on taijutsu, never gave up on his path.

And neither would he.

Fueled by conviction, Guy's chakra surged. The Fifth Gate cracked open.

Power exploded from within him. His speed and strength skyrocketed. For the first time, he was fast enough to reach the eye of the storm.

"This is my last strike, Teacher Chen. Everything I am, I'll pour into this fist!"

With a battle cry, Guy leapt into the sky, chakra surging, the winds parting around him. He found the eye of the dragon and unleashed a devastating punch imbued with all the force of the Fifth Gate—and all the weight of his beliefs.

The Konoha Dragon God buckled.

Baolong was stunned. The impenetrable technique, the symbol of his despair, was cracking.

And then—it shattered.

A shockwave ripped through the field. Guy landed, triumphant, and gave a weary smile before collapsing from exhaustion.

Baolong stood there, dumbfounded. Never had anyone seen through the Konoha Dragon God—let alone broken it.

For the first time in years, he felt the burden on his heart ease. He waited by Guy's side until he woke up.

When Guy came to, they shared their stories.

Baolong told him of his lost disciple, of the grief that drove him to hide away and curse taijutsu as a fool's path.

Guy replied, voice soft but proud, "My father said... One day, people will give their lives for what they cherish. And when that day comes, they must be strong enough to protect it."

Baolong finally understood. Perhaps his disciple had felt the same way, but had lacked the strength that Guy now wielded.

He smiled. "You're right. With that belief, you'll surpass me. You already have."

He taught Guy the secrets of the Konoha Dragon God.

"I'm old," he said. "The future belongs to the youth. Carry this legacy forward."

Guy bowed deeply, vowing to never reveal that Chen Baolong still lived, and to ensure the Konoha Dragon God would flourish.

Akira, who had quietly watched from the shadows, was satisfied. Guy had learned the technique from the master himself, and Akira had copied every move with his Sharingan.

He hadn't expected Baolong to teach it directly—he was prepared to reverse-engineer and pass it on himself—but this outcome was even better.

Everything had gone according to plan. Guy had grown stronger, Chen Baolong had found peace, and Akira had secured a powerful addition to his arsenal.

He escorted Guy home, used medical ninjutsu to heal the damage from the Eight Gates, and quietly left.

He had a lot to process—and with what he'd gained from Baolong, it was finally time to continue developing his own ultimate taijutsu style.
