In the corridor of the villa stood Lin Fei and Mr. Li.
"Lin Fei, even though you're Ruyan's boyfriend, I won't agree to her marrying you," Mr. Li said, looking at Lin Fei.
Lin Fei was taken aback, having thought that it would be Li Shang and his wife who opposed him being with Ruyan. He didn't expect Mr. Li to be against it as well.
This took Lin Fei by surprise.
However, Lin Fei wasn't actually Ruyan's real boyfriend, so even if Mr. Li opposed it, it didn't really have any effect on him.
Still, he was curious about why Mr. Li was against him being with Li Ruyan...
So, he asked Mr. Li, "Grandpa Li, why do you oppose me being with Ruyan?"
Mr. Li looked at Lin Fei and said apologetically, "Lin Fei, I know you're a good young man, but I've already promised an old friend to betroth Ruyan to his grandson."
Lin Fei thought to himself: So Mr. Li, like Ruyan's parents, already has the best candidate for Ruyan's boyfriend.
