Rai was sleeping in her room when suddenly she woke up, sensing something was wrong. She noticed the door was open and immediately transformed into Angel.
If her main body dies, she would truly die. But if she dies while using her Khodam body, there's still a chance to come back to life.
Her instincts were right—two spear-like spider legs from a Havoc spider pierced through her wings.
"Aaahhh!"
As the spider pulled its legs back, Angel's wings were torn off.
Emerging from a translucent form was an alien Havoc spider. Although its lower body resembled a spider, its legs were sharp like spears, and its upper body was that of a handsome man.
"I finally found you, Angel. Too bad I can't kill your real body, but I'll make you cry."
Then, the spear-like legs stabbed through both of Angel's palms, pinning her to the wall.
Angel's body trembled in pain as blood dripped from her hands.
The spider-man leaned closer, his cold eyes gleaming with twisted satisfaction. "You think you can just escape death by using that pretty form? I'll make you regret ever challenging the Havoc spiders."
He raised one of his sharp legs and slowly dragged the tip down Angel's cheek, leaving a thin cut. "Scream more... it excites me."
He then pierced through Angel's thigh, followed by the other, pinning her legs to the ground.
"Aaahhh! Stop... please!" Angel cried, struggling to move, but the pain was overwhelming.
With a sinister grin, the spider-man grabbed Angel's hair, pulling her head back. "You thought you were strong, huh? Just because you beat some weaklings, you think you can face us?"
He stabbed one of her shoulders, causing another scream to echo through the room. "That's it... keep crying."
Angel's vision started to blur, her body growing weaker as the pain intensified.
The spider-man sneered. "Pathetic. You don't even deserve to be called a warrior."
Then, as he prepared for the final strike aimed at Angel's head, he whispered, "Let me introduce myself before you die. I am HC-10, the tenth strongest among the Havoc spider warriors. Consider yourself honored to die by my hands."
With his spear-like leg raised high, ready to pierce through Angel's forehead, he grinned maliciously.
The sharp spear pierced Angel's forehead, and she let out a piercing scream.
With that agonizing cry, Angel's body immediately transformed into a blue light. She decided to change into Valkery to fight back against HC-10.
However, just as Valkery appeared, HC-10 made his body transparent and vanished into thin air.
Valkery looked around cautiously, her senses heightened. "Coward! Show yourself!"
But the room remained silent, and the eerie stillness sent a chill down her spine. She tightened her grip on her weapon, ready for an ambush.
"Running away already? After all that talk?" Valkery taunted, trying to provoke the spider warrior.
Yet, there was no response—only the lingering presence of the deadly foe who had vanished without a trace.
Valkery checked Angel's status and discovered that the recovery time was five hours before Angel could be used again.
She quickly summoned her electric spear, but she forgot she was still in her room. The high-voltage electricity immediately caused a short circuit, plunging the house into darkness.
Since it was nighttime, the entire place became pitch black.
At Vanguard, they sensed something unusual at Rai's house and immediately dispatched a few personnel, including Nadien, who transformed into a snake.
A beam of light soon illuminated Valkery, who was still holding the electric spear.
"What happened?" asked Nadien in her snake form.
"There was a Havoc spider that attacked my house," replied Valkery.
Nadien looked around cautiously.
"It seems to have left. Relax."
"How do you know?"
"My Khodam can detect heat signatures, and Havoc spiders definitely have that. Even if it has a transparency skill, hiding its body temperature is difficult," explained Nadien.
Valkery quickly dispelled the electric spear from her hand.
"For safety, you should sleep in your Khodam form and even go about your daily activities in that form to avoid being killed directly," suggested Nadien before turning away.
"Listen, there's a Havoc spider alien on Earth. I think it has a transparency skill and is hiding somewhere. Search the area to see if you find an alien spacecraft," ordered Nadien.
After conducting a thorough search, they discovered the stealth spaceship and immediately destroyed it.
HC-10 was detected several times through heat sensors, but the Havoc spider kept hiding because of its incredible speed.
The Vanguard forces remained on high alert.
After Angel recovered, she was forced to move houses. Her parents bought a new family villa, but unfortunately, Angel was given an apartment near the Vanguard headquarters by the government, considering Rai's importance and their intention to protect her.
The apartment complex was inhabited by other Khodam users, all of whom were quite powerful. Still, Angel felt too embarrassed to meet them, so she chose to hide inside her apartment.
Moreover, Angel's second experience of death was far more painful than the first. She was struggling to overcome the trauma, trying to channel it into a determination to destroy the Havoc spiders.
After gathering some courage, she stepped out of her room to explore the common facilities. Suddenly, a knock was heard at the door.
Angel opened the door and found four people standing there: three handsome men and one graceful yet tough-looking woman.
The black-haired man with sharp eyes spoke first. Leon: "Hey, you must be Angel, right? I'm Leon. My Khodam is the White Wolf. I've been assigned to protect this beauty."
The tall, laid-back man with messy brown hair raised his hand casually. Dylan: "Yo! I'm Dylan. My Khodam is the Black Tiger. Don't worry, I'm good at tracking. If there's any danger, I'll know it first."
The Asian man with long hair and a calm expression stepped forward. Jin Hou: "Greetings. My name is Jin Hou. My Khodam is the Golden Monkey. Feel free to ask for help. I'm used to handling close combat."
Lastly, Miranda, a blonde woman with a poised yet firm stance, glanced at Angel. Miranda: "I'm Miranda. My Khodam is the Fire Dragon. Don't think I'm soft just because I'm the only woman here."
Angel was a bit surprised by their relaxed attitude.
Angel: "E-eh... nice to meet you all. So... you've all been assigned to... protect me?"
Leon chuckled lightly.
Leon: "Yeah, the big boss said we need to guard this 'flower' from havoc spider attacks. Plus, since your popularity has skyrocketed, there might be other threats too."
Dylan nudged Leon.
Dylan: "Don't scare her too much. Besides, who wouldn't want to protect a pretty girl like this?"
Jin Hou looked at Angel calmly.
Jin Hou: "Don't worry. We're not just here to protect you, but also to make sure you feel safe. Think of us as your roommates."
Miranda smirked and patted Angel's shoulder.
Miranda: "Don't worry, sweet girl. We're an elite squad. Anyone who tries to get close will regret it."
Angel felt a bit awkward but relieved to receive help from these strong Khodam users. Angel (whispering softly): "Have you guys seen and read my info on the Vanguard site that my only Khodam is a woman, while my main body is male?"
