Chapter 37 - Chapter 36 - Desire to stay more

Most omegaversus' stories portrayed the heat of an alpha as something intense to the point where a person goes crazy with desire. Some of its most striking features were days of intense heat and the insane desire to own an omega, along with the possessiveness to mark it and protect it from any danger.

Only that it was a great madness to live a heat.

And for so many days like this. It had been a few minutes that Lucian had woken up and was staring at the ceiling trying to assimilate what happened in the last three days. Never felt such heat in his life as Luciano, so out of control, so desire for someone. The loss of control still scared him, especially when his body acted on its own.

Could it happen that the true eighth prince would return? For the sensation was frightening enough for him to consider such a hypothesis.

Sitting on the bed, Lucian noticed Magnus still naked sleeping next to him. His white porcelain skin was full of bite marks and hickeys, which was a shame to disregard the pleasure of having marked him. An alpha will always want to mark an omega and mark it as his own. In that heat, the prince learned how strong such a will was. Lucian dared to reach out and touch the coal hair of the omega and observe it carefully, just taking advantage of his sleep to admire it as much as he wanted.

Magnus shuddered slightly as he woke up. The crimson eyes looked confused and drowsy before rising to Lucian.

"Ah, you're already awake."

"Woke up now too. How are you feeling?"

Magnus stretched and yawned, also sitting on the bed.

"I'm perfectly well, but what about you? Must be exhausted." Asked Magnus leaning his head on his knees and opening that boastful smile.

Ah, there he was smiling again. With that arrogant expression just to provoke Lucian and make him fight back. Well, if that's what he wanted, then Lucian would gladly give it to him. Lucian answered with an innocent smile, imitating his pose on the bed.

"How could I be bad after a few days sleeping with you, Magnus?"

"Hah, you damn rat."

"Wasn't that what you moaned for three days, Magnus..."

The omega narrowed its eyes and turned its face, releasing a low grunt. Lucian laughed as he entwined his fingers in Magnus' hair, already getting used to this degree of intimacy between them. Besides being simply sensational to observe the contrast of your hand in those dark hair, without being cursed.

The strands were so soft to the touch. Lucian narrowed his eyes and smoothed his expression as he got lost in those messy, soft hairs.

Lucian's fingers went to Magnus' neck, gently touching the bite marks on his skin, especially one behind his ear where it was slightly swollen. Just by giving a slight squeeze, the prince saw Magnus shudder and cast a sharp look as he held his wrist firmly.

"Where do you think are touching?"

"Hm? There was a bite mark there."

"I know, so stay away from this place."

"Are you afraid I'll bond with you?"

Magnus snorted and released Lucian's wrist.

"As if you had the courage to mark me."

"Oh, the kitten has claws" Lucian whispered, opening an innocent smile to be the target of the deadly gaze.

"Stop talking nonsense and raise your ass from the bed." Magnus rebuked him, throwing the covers over his face. "The servants must already be almost invading the room to start the preparations."

Pulling the cover of his face, Lucian looked curiously at Magnus.

"Preparations?"

"Yes, today is the feast of our engagement."

Yea, he had completely forgotten that detail. It was not his fault that something very important drew his attention completely.

As Magnus had said, the servants of the Palace of the Sun were lined up in front of the door of the room, waiting for the boys' permission to enter. Only when Magnus opened the door and took off his tie from the doorknob did that line of betas come in and start working, leaving Lucian stunned with sudden movement so early in the morning.

While the couple wore a thick robe to hide their nudity, the servants quickly split between making the bed and preparing their breakfast table. It was shameful to have so many people looking after them knowing what happened in the last days, Lucian was not used to that.

"What's that face?"

Lucian blinked a few times and leaned slightly in the direction of the omega.

"Do you think they know what happened in this room?"

"Huh? Of course they do. The servants always know when their masters are in heat and prepare to take care of the post-heat."

It was impossible for him not to imagine those people standing at the door listening to the groans from the door, which only made his shame worse.

The curtains and windows were opened, the air circulated dissipating the intense smell of pheromones from Magnus and Lucian. Both of them sat down to have breakfast together, which in itself was unprecedented.

Lucian looked back and forth, absorbing such a different atmosphere.

When did he have company for breakfast? Lucian had Magnus talking something to him while he toasted jam. And it was not just about having a well-dressed man talking elegantly about politics, but of a man wearing only a robe, with messy hair and complaining that Lucian should eat more because he is too thin.

Ah... Lucian felt a tickle on his chest.

Magnus raised his red eyes to Lucian, noticing the blush on Lucian's cheeks and the tender expression he had.

"What is it?"

Lucian just tilted his head and smiled sweetly.

"I'm just happy to have you here with me."

It was the omega's turn to raise slightly the eyes of surprise, perhaps amazed by feeling the sincerity coming from him.

"You're definitely annoying, Lucian."

"Am I?" Lucian laughed, noticing Magnus' ears turning red as he turned his eyes to the toast in hand.

Is it okay for him to be selfish and wish to stay in that body longer?

After having breakfast together, the servants separated the couple to begin preparations for the big event of that day. Lucian was dragged to the bathroom, where he received a bath that took away not only the dry fluids between his legs and abdomen, but also removed the tiredness from his body.

It was the first time that Lucian received a body massage, a bath worthy of royalty that would leave his skin soft and fragrant. Something he never thought of having even in the other life. But there he was, being pampered like he never was. After the bath, Argus helped him dress impeccably, hiding the bite marks and hickeys that Magnus left on his skin.

They only gave Lucian a break for lunch, and it was delayed because he had to give advises about the last arrangements of the party. Fortunately it was about insignificant things, or else he was screwed for spoiling everything that the prince's father had decided.

And speaking in the said whose, Cassander visited Lucian only at dusk, when he put on the last arrangements of his costume. As expected, the white fabric combined very well with Lucian's elegance, highlighting the accessories he needed to wear as a prince of the Empire.

"Very well, it is spotless."

Well, of course it was spotless, Lucian was exuberant. His long golden hair was perfectly groomed and lined, falling on his shoulders. No one would dare to associate him with his old image of a renegade prince.

Lucian turned at the door finding Cassander also dressed. He was surprised when he noticed the royal cloak that he had only seen in old paintings or movies in the past life, with that red fabric and white plumage around. Cassander was majestic, wearing the crown on his head and several medals on his chest.

Ah... that man was indeed an imperial consort.

Upon entering the room, Cassander raised his hand in a silent request for the servants to leave them alone, which was promptly answered. Once alone, the alpha stopped in front of Lucian and looked at him from top to bottom.

"Thank you, Your Majesty. You look good too."

Cassander smiled sweetly and tilted his head.

"Thank you. I have longed for this moment many times, but now that I will experience it together with you and Rehael... haha, I feel nervous."

They were in conversations like those that Lucian felt his guard down to the Consort, he had a tone of voice so soft and calm that it could be relaxing.

"It's understandable, I'm also a little anxious."

"Everything will be fine, just have fun next to your groom and thank the guests for coming" Cassander hugged Lucian's shoulders and smiled sweetly.

Was really getting used to the presence of Cassander.

Cassander passed on to Lucian about some nobles he should greet by etiquette, especially his brothers who would probably come accompanied by relatives of their maternal families. The goal was to avoid any political problem, although still need to keep guard high for any surprises.

Then, after that conversation, Cassander left Lucian alone to go meet the Emperor. Taking a deep breath, that was the first time he saw himself nervous about something. The first big event that wasn't part of the original story.

Lucian looked in front of the mirror and sighed without turning his eyes away from his own face. He had become accustomed to being Lucian, but now he was living a completely different story than his character. Despite being a night of festivities in the imperial palace, Lucian should not lower his guard.

In the hall of the Palace of the Sun would be the true villain of history, eager to steal Lucian's attention and get his hands on the political power he would acquire this night. The change in history would open a new path with unimaginable consequences.

Moreover, Luciano had no idea when he would cease to be the eighth prince. Just as it was a mystery how he came, when he would come back was also a mystery.

The door of the room was opened, Lucian observed by the reflection of the mirror Magnus wearing the impeccable costume in the wine tone and the hair tucked back. Beautiful and stunning to the point of Lucian being willing to marry at that very instant.

Putting on his black gloves, Magnus entered without seeming bothered or nervous about the event. On the contrary, he wasted confidence as if he was used to being the star of the night.

"It's time, Lucian."

Taking a deep breath, the prince turned his back to the mirror and approached with his arm extended to Magnus, who promptly held him.

"We're getting used to it, don't you think?"

"That's even more annoying", Magnus growled.

Thus, Lucian walked through the corridors of his small palace next to his fiancé.

Whatever it was that brought him here, please... let him live a little longer next to that omega.
