"Robin Hood, just pick up any solid object around you and smash the surface against the metal poles inside this carriage. Hurry up."
[Huh? Shaan, what are you talking about?]
Without replying to Robin Hood's words, Shaan swung his two swords and randomly hit all the metal poles around. In just seconds, noises instantly filled the entire carriage, causing the giant spider to start groaning in pain.
[Hey, it worked, Shaan]
"Yeah, but it's still not loud enough. I still need a much louder noise than this."
[Calm down, leave it to me.] Robin Hood smiled wickedly. [Of course, I'm going to make this place extremely loud.]
Robin Hood picked up the piece of iron lying on the ground and smashed all the poles in the carriage repeatedly. Instantly, the noise filled the entire carriage, causing the giant spider to weaken and lie on the ground.
'Good, this is now my chance. '
"Robin Hood, listen to me. Keep protecting me as I attempt to attack this giant spider."
Robin Hood nodded his head. [I understand]
Without wasting any time, Shaan darted swiftly towards the giant spider that was lying weak. He then swung his dual swords, preparing to launch his attack.
"It's time to end this."
Unfortunately, the noise didn't make the giant spider give up. The creature began to rise, then lunged at Shaan with its sharp fangs, aiming to strike from a short distance. Luckily, Robin Hood loosed an arrow just in time, hitting the spider and paralyzing its giant body.
[Now, Shaan!]
"Take this, you damn thing!"
Shaan swung his weapon and ripped the spider's mouth open with a single blow. In just seconds, a strange, pitch-black liquid spewed out of the monstrous spider's mouth until the giant spider finally died.
[You successfully killed Arachnochtra's giant spider]
[You get to collect Dark Crystal Shard x3]
[You get Dreadborne: Arachnochtra's fang x1] i
'Dreadborne? Hmm... I've never heard of this term before.' Shaan furrowed his brow. I'll try opening the info tab and see if there's more to it.'
[Dreadborne: An object that comes from a creature of darkness. Unlike crystal shards, dreadborne can take the form of weapons or special materials that can be used as materials to make powerful weapons. This item is a step, and not all creatures of darkness can produce this."]
"Hmm... Interesting. I don't think I've read about this before." Shaan stroked his chin. "Now, it's time to see the explanation of Arachnochtra's dreadborne."
[Arachnochtra's fang: a sharp fang that is the hardest part of an arachnochtra's body. It is so sharp that it can tear through flesh with ease. This fang is commonly used as a material to make powerful weapons.]
"Wow, I didn't expect a fang the size of my palm to hold this much power," said Shaan, placing it carefully into one of his pouches. "Maybe this could be used as a material to enhance the weapon I left with Miss Briana. Alright, I'll hold on to it and deliver it to her later."
[Robin Hood acknowledges your skill, bond increased by +3]
[Hey, that was quite a battle.] Robin Hood walked over to Shaan. [Good thing we managed to take it down.]
"That's true. But now, we need to get out of this carriage. Before—"
Suddenly, the entire carriage began to shake, and strangely, it started to descend—as if something was pulling it downward, closer to the black pool Shaan had seen earlier. What in the world was happening?
"Oh, crap. Robin Hood—we have to get out of this carriage now!"
Without wasting a moment, Shaan sprinted toward the exit. Using all his strength, he forced the train door open. With Robin Hood at his side, they both leapt out in unison, just seconds before the carriage plunged into the black pool.
"Damn, that was close." Shaan let out a deep breath, watching as the massive tentacles dragged the last train car beneath the dark surface and vanished completely. "Good thing we made it in time. If we had been even a second late, we would've ended up inside that terrifying pool."
[Yes, you're right]
"Now, we should go down this railroad track and look for the whereabouts of the other Daemonists," Shaan gazed around. "That's much better than us just staying here. We have to keep moving or those big tentacles will finish us off."
[I agree, I can also sense the presence of other Daemon powers. Now, we just need to walk around this place and hope to meet others.]
Several minutes passed as Shaan continued walking along the train tracks ahead of him. Strangely, he hadn't seen a single trace of any other Daemonists—or even the terrifying creatures of darkness that had lurked earlier. Only silence accompanied him now, along with an old train car and a flickering yellow lantern that swung gently overhead, casting unsteady light on his path.
"Robin Hood, are you sure you sensed the presence of another Daemon?" Shaan glanced around warily. "I don't see anything out here."
[Absolutely sure. I couldn't be wrong. We just need to keep following these tracks, and maybe we'll—]
Cling! Cling!
"Robin Hood, you heard that too, didn't you?" Shaan stopped for the moment. "The sound came from up ahead… It might be another Daemonist like us."
[Yes, that makes sense. We should check it out and see what's going on.]
Shaan accelerated his pace towards the source of the sound until he finally saw another railroad track. There, he caught sight of a woman with striking golden hair dashing gracefully near an old railway line, slicing through hordes of dark creatures that tried to swarm her. Her movements were calm and fluid—so elegant that it almost looked like she was dancing.
"Unbelievable… I didn't think anyone could fight like that," Shaan muttered, squinting to try and get a better look. "She's moving too fast—I can't even see her face clearly."
Within minutes, every last shadow creature lay defeated. The golden-haired woman began walking in Shaan's direction, and as she came into full view, he recognized her—it was Nalira. But she wasn't alone. Just right behind her, there was another woman with long violet hair, calmly gripping a silver staff in her hand as she followed her steps.
"Chelsie? Huh… What a coincidence."
