Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: KirliaVS Duraludon

When Axel, as usual, gave the old man food and money, Kirlia used telepathy to give some guidance to the old man.

After the matter was done, Kirlia got her wish and successfully played the ring toss game at the night market by the park entrance.

After making countless shop owners cry, the two of them returned home satisfied.

In the following days, Axel spent his daytime playing outside with Pheromosa and little Kirlia, nurturing their bond.

Occasionally, he would also go shopping with the little loli.

With the effect of the [Breeder] attribute, his strength improvement did not stagnate.

Kirlia leveled up to 22, while Pheromosa leveled up to 15.

The strength gap between the two little fellows was getting smaller and smaller.

Moreover, their skill pools had become relatively rich.

Kirlia learned Confuse Ray, Will-O-Wisp, and Trick Room.

Pheromosa, during the process of leveling up, comprehended the Normal-type move Stomp.

This move had a high probability of putting the opponent into a flinching state, which could be considered a remedy for Pheromosa's lack of control-type moves.

At night, Axel transformed into the Sword God of Ten-Mile Slope in the dream world, grinding levels like crazy, planning to capture Ho-Oh as soon as possible.

Early that morning, before Axel had even fully woken up, he heard knocking sounds from outside.

"Axel, hurry up and get up!"

"You said you'd take me to Jasmine Village today. No sleeping in!"

Axel glanced at the Pikachu alarm clock by his bedside, a trace of helplessness flashing across the corner of his mouth.

'The little loli actually got up even earlier than the alarm...'

"Alright, give me a minute," Axel turned off the alarm clock that hadn't rung yet, got out of bed, and opened the door.

Today, the little loli didn't tie up her hair, just casually swept it to one side. Her waist-hugging plaid shirt outlined a perfect figure.

Her fair little waist was exposed, making it hard to look away.

She had a kind of wild beauty.

The only thing a bit out of place was that she wasn't wearing heels, but a pair of white canvas shoes.

Inside, she was still the same little loli.

After washing up, the two of them hailed a ride and headed for Jasmine Village.

A few days had passed, and the number of trainers in Jasmine Village had significantly decreased.

Most of the local young trainers of Emberpine City had already tried the fun of roaming, and some even turned pale at the mention of Tyrantrum.

According to incomplete statistics, the business volume of psychologists in Emberpine City had increased several times year-on-year...

Axel was a bit confused, 'Is this secret realm really that hard?'

That was until they saw Gary.

Now, Gary was covered in dirt and looked much more haggard than before.

Even the cheerleaders around him now had vacant eyes, as if they had experienced some inhumane torture.

"Gary, what happened to you?"

Seeing Axel appear, a glimmer of light appeared in Gary's dusty eyes.

He grabbed Axel's hand tightly, "Axel, did you really clear the second stage?"

"Yeah, why? Is it that hard?"

"Hard?", Gary's voice trembled slightly.

"It's not just hard, it's insanely hard!"

"When I entered the secret realm for the second time, I was thinking I could easily beat Tyrantrum, but I never expected that guy to actually use Attract on my sister's Snorlax."

"That huge dragon actually knows how to act cute, who the hell did it learn that from."

"My Pokémon hit it like tickling, tickling you get it?"

"Axel, tell me, isn't that shameless!"

Axel blinked and didn't answer Gary's question.

He clearly remembered that when he passed the Tyrantrum stage, that guy didn't know Attract at all. Instead, it was severely weakened by his Pokémon's debuff skills.

'Now it seems, this secret realm actually learns from the trainer's clearance methods?'

Axel patted Gary's shoulder sympathetically, still hoping this guy wouldn't clear Tyrantrum.

Otherwise... Axel feared he'd be driven mad by Aerodactyl.

Seeing Axel approaching, the secret realm guard at the Pokémon Center brightened up and opened the VIP passage.

"Mr. Axel, you're finally here!"

As staff of the Pokémon Center, they sincerely hoped Axel could clear the stage.

Once Axel succeeded, they could leave this place earlier.

After all, it was the middle of summer now. Who didn't want to return to the center early to enjoy the air conditioning?

Axel comforted Gary a few words, asking him to wait at the entrance of the secret realm and help time his clearance.

Then he placed the little loli in Gary's car and considerately turned on the AC.

"Axel, you're the best!"

Gary: "..." (Heartbroken)

'That's my damn car!'

After a bout of dizziness, Axel appeared at the familiar valley bottom.

That Duraludon was still standing in the flat area of the valley, with a fierce glint in its eyes unique to Steel-type Pokémon.

Its ability was Adaptability, and its main moves were Charge Beam, Tackle, Protect, Hone Claws, Dragon Claw, Flash Cannon, and Mirror Coat.

Seeing Axel appear, Duraludon's posture immediately changed, its upper limbs resting on the ground, like a mini version of a steel bridge.

"Opening with Charge Beam, huh?", Axel grinned.

Last time, he decisively retreated exactly because of Duraludon's signature move.

Other than Z-moves and Dynamax moves, it was the strongest Electric-type move, able to increase Special Attack during a brief charge-up, then unleash a powerful electric strike.

Special Attack boost + the skill's immense base power.

Neither Kirlia nor Pheromosa could possibly withstand Duraludon's attack.

But now it was different.

"Kirlia, use Confuse Ray!"

A flash of eerie light passed through the red pupils of the little one, and a streak of purple light shot out from her small hand, precisely hitting Duraludon still charging on the ground.

A trace of confusion flashed through Duraludon's fierce gaze, falling into the confusion status caused by Confuse Ray.

In this state, Duraludon immediately lost its target and started spinning in place.

In the end, it used a move based on its own feeling and successfully hit the cliff wall more than ten meters away from Axel and Kirlia.

Somewhere in the valley, a certain consciousness was obviously dumbfounded.

In his view, it was impossible for Axel to clear Duraludon in such a short time.

After all, this Duraludon could tank and hit hard, had solid defense, and also knew moves that reflected Special Attack.

More importantly, it could one-shot almost all Pokémon under level 30.

But now it seemed... maybe he had been too conservative?

Still, Duraludon had an outstanding level and solid physical attacks.

As long as it stacked Hone Claws a few times, there's no way it wouldn't be able to break the terrain and get kited by Kirlia.

But just then, Axel spoke again.

"Kirlia, use Will-O-Wisp!"
