Chapter 64 - Chapter 12: Ena almost goes berserk

Chapter 12: Ena almost goes berserk

If the nine-tailed fox had pounced on someone else, Hikigaya might have stepped in to stop it.

But she pounced on Ena.

Ena was an expert in spirit summoning. For a nine-tailed fox who liked to possess people, her body was indeed like a "delicacy." But…

Sorry, this house has already been sold. And it was sold to Susanoo no Mikoto. That God even assigned a bodyguard to this house.

Sure enough, the moment the nine-tailed fox pounced on Ena, she was bounced off by a divine power. Even her pair of red amber-like pupils were sent spinning.

"Ouch?" The first to speak wasn't Ena, but Ame-no-Murakumo, which was wrapped in her sword bag. It muttered in confusion, "This little girl looks familiar…"

Fortunately, it was noisy around here and everyone was busy with their own things. The sword's voice wasn't loud, so no one paid special attention.

Even if someone had heard it, they probably wouldn't care. There wasn't any earth-shattering content in it—it'd just be treated as someone chatting nearby.

Of course, it might also be because Ena instantly grabbed the sword bag.

But she herself was also surprised.

"You're… the one from yesterday?" she widened her eyes at the fox that had been bounced away.

Just like Hikigaya, she was dumbfounded. A fox spirit claiming to be an Inari god?

What kind of joke was this? The only fox in yokai lore that played with Inari gods was Tamamo-no-Mae! The famous golden-haired, fair-faced nine-tailed fox! A rich and elegant beauty who led yokai fashion trends and only seduced emperors.

Legend said this being was born in India, stirred up trouble in China, then crossed over to Japan, only to end up getting utterly wrecked by Abe no Seimei. Totally face-planted in the gutter.

But like Hikigaya, Seishuin Ena didn't think this dumb fox was Tamamo-no-Mae.

Just look at that idiotic face…

"Ow, that hurt!" The nine-tailed fox stood up groggily. She didn't even try to run away, instead drooling as she stared at Ena. If not for her killer looks and figure, Hikigaya would have thought she was some creepy old perv.

"This body is perfect for my beauty, you know."

Couldn't bear to look anymore. Afraid his IQ would drop just from watching…

But Hikigaya quickly realized he was insulting the term "IQ."

Because the fox pounced again.

This time, though, there was a bit of surprise—she suddenly appeared behind Ena like she had teleported. Even Hikigaya couldn't tell how she did it.

"She's actually attacking here!?"

Ena was shocked too. Feeling the other completely pressed up against her back, her instincts as a warrior and as a sword priestess kicked in—she immediately entered battle mode.

But the attack landed in a totally unexpected spot.

Forget combat instincts—what followed were the kinds of noises any normal girl would make in such a situation.

"Kya! Kyaa!"

"Ooooh! What a figure!"

"What… what are you doing!?"

"Come on now, don't squirm… Mmm… this medium, balanced size, the perfect elasticity, and such beautiful curves! This is peak human form! Absolutely divine! Let me examine it more thoroughly!"

"Stop… stop it… your hands… no, don't…"

"I'm not stopping! A mere human having such a perfect figure? So arrogant! Tsk… what childish underwear. With legs this beautiful, why wear Little Red Riding Hood panties? Totally doesn't match you. Come, let me help redesign them!"

On the other side, Hikigaya was already dumbstruck…

What the hell is this situation? A pervy female fox?

And the people nearby were acting like they couldn't see anything—maybe even Ena herself was invisible now. Could it be this fox's ability is to constantly act out ero scenes in public?

So that's how you cultivated into a nine-tailed fox!

After dozens of seconds, the girl and the fox finally separated. Both collapsed on the ground, panting in very different ways.

"So satisfying… I can die without regrets now," the fox had a blissful expression and giggled foolishly. "Touched such amazing things… I was right to come out and play. The human world is a paradise~"

She didn't seem to notice Ena behind her, whose face was so red it was about to bleed, and who was already gripping her sword in a fury of shame and murderous intent.

Truly a dumb fox…

Hikigaya obviously couldn't let Ena draw her sword here. It looked like once the fox had separated from her, other people could see her again. Quite a few were already noticing her "odd" movements.

Even if they didn't understand what happened, the scene alone was enough to make many boys give her lewd glances.

After all, Ena looked very "appetizing" right now.

But if she drew her sword, things would go from "appetizing" to "campus horror attack" real quick.

Hikigaya immediately rushed over.

One burly guy in a karate uniform had been enjoying the view with a suspicious grin—definitely fantasizing something. Hikigaya stepped on his foot and shoulder-checked him to the side.

The guy got furious and was about to argue when a small bear-like figure suddenly appeared out of nowhere and said, "Oh, are you a martial artist too? Great! Let's spar!" and dragged him off.

Hikigaya never even looked back. No way he'd let some delinquent ogle Ena—she was technically his girlfriend, after all.

And with that, he reached Ena's side and grabbed her arm.

But it seemed like the earlier groping trauma had left her a bit jumpy—just from being grabbed, she reflexively elbowed back. Honestly, good thing it was Hikigaya. Anyone else would've been sent flying.

"Calm down," he said quietly. "You're going to scare people."

But in other people's eyes, he'd just suddenly embraced Ena and whispered something into her ear—super sweet and romantic.

"I-I got it…" Ena's face flushed even deeper. Actually, right after she threw the elbow, her head cleared. But that just made her even more embarrassed—she knew everyone had seen her like that just now.

And this was also the first time she'd been held like this by a boy her age.

It made her feel even more shy than before.

Hikigaya didn't notice, though.

But the nine-tailed fox did. The moment she realized Hikigaya was looking at her with malicious intent, she panicked.

"Ah! I suddenly remembered something! Gotta go!"

Before the words were even finished, the little fox had vanished with a whoosh. Hikigaya didn't even have time to grab her.

It was partly because there were too many people around for him to act properly, but also because the fox really was fast.

"This girl…"

Hikigaya and Ena looked at each other. With a pervy fox mixed in like this, this year's school festival was bound to get wild…
