The weather was clear and calm, with the sea as tranquil as ever.
On the Rocks Pirates' ship, Bob took some jewelry from his room and, after discussing some matters with John, headed to the lifeboat area with him.
Compared to last time, Bob's departure was much more extravagant this time. Instead of a small wooden boat, he was now using a luxurious lifeboat.
Previously, on the Celestial Dragons' luxury cruise ship, most of the lifeboats had been taken by the Rocks Pirates, As for the luxury cruise ship, its fate was rather bleak. After the pirates stripped it of all its valuables, it was abandoned, left to drift aimlessly on the sea, ending its service to the Celestial Dragons.
"Gurararara!"
The iconic laughter of Whitebeard echoed across the deck. Upon hearing that Bob was leaving he come out to see bob and he was accompanied by Kaido, Bob's newly appointed vice-commander.
"This boat is much better than the last one!" Whitebeard remarked, looking at Bob. "So, what brings you to the lifeboat?"
"Hahaha! Indeed, Edward, why don't you come aboard and experience it for yourself?"
"Gurarara! No thanks, you're heading to the casino, and that's not my scene!" Whitebeard waved his hand dismissively. He wasn't about to give his money to gamblers.
Kaido, standing nearby, shouted to him, "Bob look at me!"
Hearing this, Bob was momentarily taken aback. Since when had Kaido become so self-absorbed? He had not expected that from him.
But seeing Kaido's demeanor, it was clear he had already consumed a Devil Fruit. His entire presence had changed, exuding a sense of explosive power.
In just a few days, Kaido had made such a significant improvement. Truly, the power of a top-tier Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit was remarkable.
After exchanging farewells, Bob and John set off in the lifeboat, leaving Whitebeard and Kaido on the deck to ponder their own decisions in their own thoughts.
Having consumed the Devil Fruit, Kaido felt his strength had increased significantly. He had to be wary of Bob during this period, as Bob could easily outmatch any Devil Fruit abilities and ultimately defeat him.
Meanwhile, Whitebeard was contemplating keeping a close eye on Bob's room during his absence. He didn't want anyone to take advantage of his absence by engaging in shady activities.
Since John had chosen the destination for this voyage, he was in charge of navigation. He held a map and a log pose, carefully checking their course on the open sea.
"Have you looked enough? The boat isn't going to steer itself!" Bob was exasperated. Ever since they left the Rocks Pirates' ship, John had been constantly checking the map and log pose, even though they had already set their course at the start.
"It's better to be safe than sorry! If we make even a slight mistake in direction, we could end up miles off course!" John replied calmly, putting down the map and log pose.
"Your worries are unnecessary!"
"Instead of that, you should be more concerned about how slow this boat seems to be moving!" Bob lay back in the boat, his hands behind his head, legs crossed, and raised an eyebrow as he spoke.
Suddenly, John's gaze fixed ahead, his brow furrowing tightly.
"Huh?"
"Why are so many fish rushing towards us?"
"Fish?"
Hearing this, Bob uttered a single word, then put down his hands and stood up, following John's line of sight. A group of fish Bob didn't recognize were heading their way, leaping from the water into the air and then splashing back down, resembling the dolphin migration scenes Bob had seen in animal documentaries in his previous life.
"Is it the season for fish migration?"
Bob couldn't help but ask.
"No! It's not!"
"They seem to be chased by something!"
"Holy crap! It's a Sea King!"
As soon as John finished speaking, a monstrously large fish suddenly leaped out of the water in the distance. Its massive body crashed into the surface, sending up waves as large as a tidal surge.
Bob's lifeboat was nearly overtuned by the waves.
"Damn, that's way too big!"
Bob stared at the awe-inspiring scene, his eyes gleaming.
He had only seen Sea Kings in anime before, their bodies exceptionally massive, the most powerful species in the oceans. But now, being in the world of pirates and witnessing it firsthand, Bob was deeply shaken. He thought that if someone with a fear of giant creatures were here, they might faint on the spot.
However, along with his shock, Bob also felt a surge of excitement.
"Luckily, it's one of the smaller types of Sea Kings!"
John, having gotten a clear look, relaxed slightly and let out a breath. "This is still considered small?"
Bob choked on John's words, speaking in disbelief.
But then he thought of the comparison between the super-sized Sea Kings and ships in the manga, and it seemed the one before them was indeed much smaller.
"Right, it's a stroke of luck in an unfortunate situation!"
"But… that's fine!"
"I haven't had a chance to show my strength before, so this time, I'll let you see how I take down this Sea King!"
As he spoke, John had already drawn his rapier, ready to attack the oncoming Sea King.
Just as he was about to leap forward and strike, Bob's voice interrupted him.
"Wait… I have a better idea!"
Bob smiled faintly, raising an eyebrow at John as he spoke slowly.
"A better idea?"
John was taken aback, frowning as he asked.
"How about riding this Sea King?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Bob vanished from the boat.
In the next moment, His figure appeared on the head of the Sea King, and he delivered a punch straight to its skull.
"Thud!"
A dull sound echoed from the Sea King's head, the immense force from Bob's fist making it thrashing wildly on the surface, trying to dive into the depths.
However, Bob, standing on its head, simply smiled.
Because every time its head was about to fully submerge, Bob would deliver another punch, the pain forcing it to struggle back to the surface.
And so, after several repetitions, the Sea King gradually understood.
As long as it didn't dive into the water, it wouldn't get hit.
Seeing this, it gave up struggling and lay flat on the water's surface. Bob, realizing the time was right, turned to John behind him.
"Bring the steel cable from the boat! Connect it to the seaking!"
By this point, John was completely dumbfounded. "Is this how we do things?" After a moment, he finally snapped out of it, grabbed the steel cable, tied one end to the bow of the boat, and jumped onto the Sea King's back, securing the other end to its fin bone.
With everything ready, Bob patted the Sea King's head. The highly intelligent creature immediately understood and began moving across the water at an incredible speed.
The sound of rushing wind instantly filled Bob's ears.
"Yahoo!"
Bob couldn't help but shout as he felt the sea breeze flew over him. This speed was far faster than he had anticipated.
And so, on the surface of the sea, Bob used his fist as a rudder and the Sea King as his vessel, swiftly heading toward their destination.
