Chapter 31 - Plan for the Future

After Gort's call, he looked up to see the trembling pupils from everyone around him.

"Boss… boss… did they… did they just say they were willing to pay more than the arranged price if we could double shipment?"

Everyone felt like it was a dream.

"I need air… I–" Comrade Park fell to a seat, still feeling his legs wobbling like jelly. "We are rich… we are rich… we are RICH…" he kept muttering these worlds over and over again, while staring at the space in front of him with unfocused eyes.

"There, there…" Clare Rei soothed her husband, despite her too feeling wobbly.

A while ago, they were ordinary farmers with peanuts in their bank accounts. And now—

Well, the change was enough to make a blind man see again.

"Brother Fang…"

Katrina, Linty, Tenten, and the Rostall twins: Bunten and Bullen, all stared at their boss in awe.

This is the boss they swore to follow. Even if he said jump, they would only ask high high they're supposed to jump.

Alright, back to work.

"Boss, here's the report of all tree seedlings collected... I have the list of fruit, and crop seedlings."

"Boss, I've collected grains, weeds, flowers and other natural seedlings... as instructed, I focused on unique plants and sea saplings."

Linty and Tenten reported their findings.

Their reports were each over 300 pages long, as they listed the names, as well as scientific names for all items collected.

They've collected and collected and collected so much. Yet, it didn't reach even 1% of what this planet had to offer.

Do you know how many plants exist in this world, be it on land or under the waters?

They never knew the world was so fast until today.

Gort flipped through the pages in a flash, already storing everything in his photographic memory. "Good… Don't be discouraged. This much is still great."

"Yes, boss." Both nodded heavily. They still had a long way to go, if they were going to preserve humanity's home.

Tenten and Linty then stepped back, allowing Katrina, and the Rostall twins to take the limelight.

What were their duties? Of course they were tasked with handling all company matters.

The twins handled payments and other HR matters, while Katrina acted as the company's main secretary.

She was mostly the one all buyers got in contact with apart from Gort.

As for Park Fairbang, he handled stock and distribution.

Everyone had something to do in this company, but their strength was not enough, which was why they began a hiring spree within the village.

Katrina was training several secretaries under her belt, and everyone else had people who called them bosses too. In fact, most parents sent their children to follow them.

For the parents themselves, they preferred to have their hands in the dirt. Of course, there were still about 30% of recruits who were parents and grandparents.

Hey, a job is a job. They didn't discriminate with age.

Please!... With their foods given for free in the cafeteria, you best believe everyone would subconsciously grow stronger without even knowing it.

"Alright… everyone did good. However, starting from tomorrow, things will get far busier than they already are."

Right!

Everyone nodded, knowing this was just the tip of the iceberg if they were to actually save the world.

They must start collecting as many animals, bugs and living things… 10 for each species type.

For example, Wolf spiders. They need 10 of those.... Tarantulas… also 10.

10 of each type of species and subclass.

Yellow baboons… 10.... Hamadryads Baboons… 10.

Everything must be preserved!

Gort's eyes narrowed deeply. If they can collect more, they would. But for now, they needed government approval to allow this. "Start with things we can collect first. Ants, bugs… pets…"

They all nodded deeply.

"Everyone, we are going to build a Zoo!"

"Yes, Boss!"

With that, their mission was clearer. And just like that, the day flew by in the blink of an eye.

[Rise and shine, host, it's another brand new day]

Gort woke up today from his laboratory, wiping the salvia stain from the corners of his mouth.

Hey… he just found another way to strengthen the formula given by the system.

[Host, I knew you could do it.]

The system was ecstatic, though its voice still sounded neutral and robotic. It stared at Gort with an unprecedented light… No one knew what it was thinking.

~Ding!

[Congratulations host, on completing task 1 and 2]

With that, all tasks appeared before him.

[Main Missions:

Task 1: Saving humanity is not just a job for the host alone. Get at least 40% of villagers to participate in one way or another in raising awareness.

Taal 2: Please develop the fertilizer and collect 10 sets of seeds from each plant, tree of vegetation on Blue Star's land surface.

Task 3: Generate a steady stream of income to support any future technologies to be built before the Flood arrives!

Note//: To unlock more vital technologies, complete at least 1 task given.]

Gort nodded thoughtfully.

Now that task one and two are completed, what rewards will he have next?
