The Unrest in Konoha Has Yet to Fully Settle
The villagers and ninjas remained in confusion.
It was at this time that the Senju clan suddenly moved as a group.
They weren't relocating far — just several dozen meters away, to a scenic area that had already been prepared by Uzumaki Mito and Senju Yukika.
Construction hadn't officially started yet.
The Senju had just come out of war and needed a good period of rest.
However, there were places where no corners could be cut — such as Yukika's residence and the clan shrine.
Night fell.
The Senju men, women, and children could finally relax their tense nerves.
Starting today, they could sleep peacefully.
This had once been a luxury for them.
At the center of the new clan grounds, Senju Yukika was still awake.
He intended to take advantage of the evening to clearly explain some important matters.
There was much to do.
Dealing with Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzo at the village gates had only been the beginning.
The Second Shinobi World War was not yet over.
How Konoha intended to handle matters was no longer of concern to Yukika.
But there was one thing:
The resources seized from Amegakure were to be handed over to the Senju.
The frontline in the Land of Rain was again at a stalemate.
Sunagakure, Kumogakure, and Iwagakure had all suffered heavy blows after the Senju's siege battle.
This deadlock was not expected to last much longer.
So, what should Yukika do?
In the shortest time possible, the Senju would undergo a transformation.
This would require enormous resources.
Beyond that, Yukika had not forgotten the promise he made to Uzumaki Mito.
Since the real culprit behind Kirigakure's alliance with Konoha had been confirmed, it was only a matter of time before that issue would surface.
"Second Brother, the elders have been notified. They should arrive shortly," said Shouki, leaning tiredly against Yukika.
He was exhausted. Unlike Yukika, he didn't have such an abnormal physique.
"Go rest," Yukika said, ruffling Shouki's hair.
"No way. I have to stay with you," Shouki replied with a soft chuckle. "I promised myself: wherever you go, I go. Whoever tries to stop me, I'll fight."
Yukika smiled and nodded.
Shouki had grown up.
He had learned so much since graduating as a Genin alongside Yukika.
In the future, Shouki would manage Senju clan affairs on his own — Yukika had no intention of micromanaging like a Hokage.
Otherwise, what would be the point of cultivating capable people?
Whether it was Shouki, Tsunade, Orochimaru, or Sakumo Hatake, they were all his right-hand men.
And with Uzumaki Mito's steadying presence, the whole family's mentality had stabilized.
The Senju would remain the Senju.
But it was Konoha, now without the Senju, that was about to face a real test.
Before long, people arrived.
Uzumaki Mito and Tsunade sat beside Yukika.
Below them stood the clan elders and important members of the Senju.
This was the Senju clan's second official meeting — the first one after regaining strength and being fully recognized again.
It was even more important than the first.
Orochimaru and Sakumo understood this clearly.
Though Yukika treated them as family, they were still technically outsiders.
To avoid any embarrassment, they chose to stand silently behind Yukika, acting as guards.
That was the smart move.
In Konoha, Orochimaru had been Yukika's mentor.
But now that the Senju were independent, even though "mentor" remained an honorary title, Orochimaru took it upon himself to adjust his role.
Respect was one thing; self-awareness was another.
Their thoughtful behavior would be appreciated.
They didn't ask for anything in return — only to follow Yukika and truly accomplish meaningful things.
For example, Orochimaru would have his own research lab, where he could openly conduct experiments.
Sakumo, too, immersed himself in swordsmanship, communicating with his "White Fang" persona daily, seeking higher realms.
"Everyone is here."
When Mikoto and Kushina nestled into Yukika's arms, the second Senju clan meeting officially began.
Although Mikoto's appearance surprised many, their relationship was already an open secret. No one commented.
Most importantly, these two women were now managing Konoha's village affairs, acting as Naruto's advisers.
"I'll keep it brief," Yukika began. "Our clan has now separated from Konoha."
"I know what you're thinking — can the Senju survive and thrive without Konoha?"
He paused, a confident smile flashing across his face.
"Yes. I guarantee it."
"Without Konoha weighing us down, the Senju will only grow stronger and more brilliant, surpassing even our peak during the Warring States era!"
The elders exchanged glances.
Three of the senior elders hesitated slightly but, considering Yukika's authority, refrained from speaking up.
"Elder within the walls," Yukika said calmly, "if you have something to say, please do."
"The Senju will not mimic Konoha's ways. Good advice will be heeded. I know what's useful and what isn't."
After all, human thinking has its limits.
That's why Yukika hadn't purged the respected elders or claimed the clan solely for himself.
His strength ensured no one dared betray him.
Any traitor would have been eliminated long before they returned.
Now, the Senju were united as never before.
The elder, though a little frail, cared deeply for the clan's welfare.
And during their darkest times, he had not turned traitor.
Yukika appreciated that.
Foolish or not, he was still useful.
"Clan Leader," the elder said respectfully, "I admit you can restore the Senju to their Warring States glory."
"But one thing confuses me."
The elder frowned.
"Our numbers have grown, and we've cut ties with Konoha. How will we address our resource shortages?"
