Chapter 125 - Chapter 125

Yukika hugged Kurama tightly. The fox was squished into a ball in his arms. The Wooden Golem leaned closer to Yukika's shoulder.

"The Nine Tails is no longer Konoha's strategic weapon!"

"He's my fox—a partner who fights beside Senju Yukika!"

Kurama sighed.

Damn it. You could've just called me a companion. Even being a pet would be fine. Why'd you have to say tool fox?

He rolled his eyes.

But strangely… he wasn't mad.

Fine. A tool is still useful. At least like this, he got to enjoy the scenery.

Ten years wasn't long.

Hashirama… your grandson is the one who finally freed me.

As they both looked at the Hokage monument, Kurama felt a rare wave of sentiment.

You always talked about understanding us. But you never truly knew what that meant. You never knew how to use our power properly.

Strategic weapon? Chakra isn't everything.

"Is this outcome acceptable to you?" Yukika asked.

He let the Wooden Golem go and stroked his chin. His message was clear: the Nine Tails was left by the First Hokage, and as his heir, Yukika had every right to revoke that legacy.

The Nine Tails belonged to the Senju. End of story.

He knew Hiruzen wouldn't accept that.

That whole act had just been to tick him off.

And it worked. Hiruzen's face darkened.

He had assumed Mito was dead. He thought he could pressure Yukika.

Now the plan had backfired.

"Yes, as the Senju head, you have that authority," Hiruzen admitted. "But you're forgetting something: Hashirama was Konoha's First Hokage. I'm the Third."

"I follow his will—not your clan rules."

"The Senju are part of Konoha, and they must serve the village."

His voice turned icy.

"As Hokage, I order you to surrender the Nine Tails. This is the village's ultimatum. Refuse, and it will be considered treason."

Kurama raised his head from Yukika's arms.

Would this kid really hand him over?

The contract had just been signed. Kurama didn't know him well yet.

Yukika said nothing. He didn't argue.

Kurama waited for an answer.

"Didn't you hear?! The Hokage ordered—"

BOOM! BOOM!

Suddenly, two loud explosions cut off the shouting.

Sludge and brain matter sprayed onto Hiruzen's robes.

The heads of Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura had exploded!

"Oops," Yukika said, withdrawing his hand. "I did warn them not to talk. Told them to watch their heads."

He looked genuinely regretful.

"Such a shame."

He turned to Hiruzen. "You think they're dead?"

Dead? Their brains were splattered across the ground!

Hiruzen's eyes turned red with rage.

These two had been his comrades since the First Ninja War—advisors, yes, but also friends.

"Senju Yukika! Who gave you the right to do this?!"

His killing intent exploded.

But Yukika didn't flinch. In fact, he looked amused.

If only Hiruzen knew that even his anger had been planned.

Yukika waited.

Kurama, in his arms, went still.

When Yukika made his move, Kurama realized something.

This guy was his master.

You dare attack me, old man?

Kurama began gathering chakra in his mouth. Yin and Yang energy swirled.

This would be the spit that killed a Hokage.

But before he could release it, the doors behind Yukika opened.

A figure emerged.

The wrinkles disappeared. Her dull hair returned to vibrant crimson, tied in her signature bun.

Her youthful face reappeared.

Uzumaki Mito.

Still alive!

"So majestic for a Hokage," she said coldly.

Chains erupted from her back, instantly binding Hiruzen.

Adamantine Sealing Chains.

She had perfected the technique. There was no escape.

"Mito-sama?!" Hiruzen gasped. "You're not dead?!"

Not only was she alive, she was stronger! Her aura was overwhelming.

"You wanted me dead that badly?" she said icily.

"No! I just—Senju Yukika killed the advisors, I was just trying to—"

"You wanted to know who ordered it? I did."

"As the matriarch of the Senju clan, I helped my grandson clean up the trash. I don't need your permission."

With a flick of her hand, chains lifted the two corpses high, sandwiching Hiruzen between them.

Their headless forms were horrifying—but Hiruzen's fear was solely for Mito.

"Useless," she muttered, frowning. "They failed in their duties, and you—what have you done as Hokage?"

With a snap, she flung the corpses and Hiruzen across the plaza.

"Until a new advisor is appointed, go reflect in the Hokage Tower."

Her voice thundered through Konoha.

As the dust settled, Yukika swallowed and gave his grandmother a thumbs up.

"Damn, Grandma. That was badass."

"...Grandma."
