Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: This Is the Charisma of Kaitō Kid!

Harrison was shocked too. He'd assumed Zhang Yang was still looking for an opening—at most, that he'd just managed to sneak into the estate.

But to think he had already entered the villa.

Frank's face changed instantly, and he shouted for his men to storm the building.

"Fuck!"

"Kaitō Kid is inside the villa—go get him, now!"

Zhang Yang immediately followed the group charging into the villa.

At the moment, he was wearing an FBI tactical uniform, complete with red and blue light strips on his shoulder. Standing among the other FBI agents, he blended in flawlessly.

Marina was practically bursting with excitement.

"Kaitō Kid's really inside the villa?! That's incredible! When did he even get in?!"

Harrison looked at Carlos's darling daughter and was utterly speechless.

She didn't look like a victim at all. In fact, she was even more hyped than the FBI.

Carlos let out a helpless sigh and followed behind the group, showing no hint of concern either.

He owned so many priceless artifacts—any single one was worth tens of millions of dollars. But even if something got stolen, it was barely a fraction of his total wealth.

"Shit. Something's not right."

Harrison had a bad feeling, but couldn't quite put his finger on it yet.

By the time they reached the third floor, the smoke was so thick they couldn't see their hands in front of their faces.

"Oh shit!"

"Stay alert! Don't let Kaitō Kid escape!"

Frank led his team cautiously into the haze.

[That's got to be one of Kaitō Kid's smoke bombs. Only his could fill the place like this!]

[Oh no—how the hell did he even get inside the villa?!]

[If you actually figured that out, then he wouldn't be Kaitō Kid.]

[Life lesson: never try to predict Kaitō Kid. Every appearance brings a surprise!]

[Oh my god! Harrison and Frank spent so long preparing, and Kaitō Kid still got in like it was nothing!]

The defensive setup that the two men had meticulously planned was practically useless. It didn't even have time to activate.

"Director Harrison, do you really think Kaitō Kid got in?" Carlos asked, also feeling that something was off.

They'd been guarding the villa nonstop, and the entire estate was crawling with elite guards and FBI agents. No one had spotted Kaitō Kid—how had he just popped up inside?

Harrison's confidence had long been dismantled by Zhang Yang. Every time he thought something was impossible, Zhang Yang proved him wrong with another "surprise."

Now, even he couldn't be certain anymore.

"Mr. Carlos, the way Kaitō Kid makes his entrance usually defies all logic."

"Let's hope Captain Frank can find him in the smoke—otherwise, we've already been played."

Harrison knew Zhang Yang's methods well. Stirring up chaos, blending into the confusion, misdirecting with distractions—these were his usual tactics.

Even though Harrison understood this, it wasn't like he had a choice. He couldn't just sit on his hands, which made him extremely passive.

Marina tried to run into the smoke too, but Carlos quickly blocked her path and snapped,

"Where do you think you're going?!"

"Kaitō Kid could be right in there! What if you get hurt?"

But Marina wasn't having it. She argued confidently,

"Dad! Kaitō Kid would never hurt anyone!"

"He only steals. He doesn't harm people!"

The livestream viewers fully agreed with her.

[Yes! Kaitō Kid has never hurt anyone, no matter the situation.]

[That's what you call a thief with honor—he only ever takes what he's after, and never touches the rest!]

[A gentleman thief with rules… this is the charisma of Kaitō Kid!]

[What? A thief with charisma? This world really is insane!]

Carlos glanced at Harrison, and on this point, Harrison had to admit it.

Back at the Fubons Auction, even when Kaitō Kid was completely surrounded, he hadn't harmed anyone.

To this day, Kaitō Kid had never injured a single one of them.

Sometimes, Harrison even wondered—if Kaitō Kid had been the type of ruthless criminal who stopped at nothing, just how terrifying would that have been?

"Mr. Carlos, Miss Marina is right. Kaitō Kid doesn't hurt people."

Hearing Harrison's firm response, Marina beamed and, ignoring Carlos entirely, darted straight into the smoke.

But visibility in the smoke was near zero—only vague silhouettes could be made out. On the livestream, it was just a white blur with nothing discernible.

[Oh my god! Kaitō Kid's smoke bomb is insane—you can't see anything!]

[Most military-grade smoke grenades can't even pull off this effect. Harrison should probably ask Kaitō Kid for a tutorial!]

[Hahaha—instant breakthrough in the field of smoke bomb development!]

[Oh no! Captain Frank probably won't find him at all!]

Over ten minutes passed before the smoke finally cleared, but Frank and his team still hadn't found any trace of Kaitō Kid.

That sent Frank into a fit of rage.

"Fuck! He got away!"

Frank still didn't understand Zhang Yang well enough. Harrison, on the other hand, wasn't nearly as flustered.

This result didn't surprise him at all.

"Captain Frank, I think Kaitō Kid lured us in on purpose."

"We've already fallen for his trick. He may have already gotten what he came for—we need to cut off all exits immediately!"

Harrison's mind was clear and sharp.

And he was right—Zhang Yang was no longer on the third floor. He had already found Carlos's vault.

In the villa, Carlos's collections were on full display, sitting neatly inside spotless glass cabinets.

But Zhang Yang hadn't seen the Sheep Head yet. And now, standing before him was a massive vault door—taller than a grown man—set into the wall.

"This has to be it. The Sheep Head must be in here."

If it wasn't inside this vault, Zhang Yang really had no idea where else Carlos might have stored it.

As for the mechanical lock on the vault door, it was nothing to him. Less than a minute later, it clicked open.

Even knowing Carlos's wealth, Zhang Yang was still stunned when he pulled the heavy door aside and saw what was inside.

The vault was roughly ten square meters in size, lined wall-to-wall with rare treasures, and in the center was a stack of gleaming gold bars, neatly arranged in rows. They shone brilliantly under the lights.

There was even a bookshelf inside, filled with leather-bound notebooks.

Zhang Yang had no interest in any of that. His eyes swept quickly across the room until they landed on what he was after—a velvet display holding the Sheep Head.

Meanwhile, Frank and Harrison were discussing how to tighten their defenses and ensure Kaitō Kid couldn't escape the estate.

Carlos had already realized that neither of them could really be relied on.

At this point, it was likely that Kaitō Kid was still inside the estate—maybe even inside the villa itself.

Carlos stood up and headed upstairs alone, intending to check on his vault.
