Hearing his words, Leo didn't even hesitate as he bowed his head once again, the girls following his lead
" it's our honor to serve you my lord " said Leo, seeing this the guards sheathed their swords and stepped back. While the coldness on the baron's face eased
" as for my request " said Leo, watching the baron's expression change. He understood that this so called request was nonexistent and was just to show his grace as a Lord in front of his subordinates but he gained the opportunity and he was going to use it
" Speak " said the Baron, his expression visibly ugly
" I hope that the Lord will allow for us to create a separate guard " said Leo. Hearing his words, everyone was taken aback as they looked at him strangely. The baron's eyes, showed a strange gleam as he looked at Leo silently
A few minutes passed in silence before the Baron spoke
" I agree to your request " said the Baron as a sarcastic smile appeared on his face " but, you'll have to make your own barracks, provide your own weapons and your own armor "
Hearing his words, the guards looked at Leo with mocking smiles, fully understanding how expensive weapons and armour were, not to mention for several people. This is when horses weren't included
" and 6 months from now, there will be a competition. My 20 guards against your 20 guards. The losers will be absorbed by the victors. To keep it fair, you can expand your group to 20 people " said the Baron, his smile growing more and more sarcastic
" thank you for the opportunity, my lord " said Leo calmly, his, expression not changing after hearing his words, which made the baron frown before he glanced at the guard who had beaten Leo
" Damian, show Leo as his fellow guards a spot where they can build their barracks " said the Baron as he turned to leave, his guards, following behind him
Leo watched them leave in silence, before he turned his attention to Damian who was looking at him with a disdainful expression before he turned to leave
Seeing this, Leo brought the others and followed behind him. About an hour later, they came to a small clearing of about 100 square metres, covered in bushes and smaller trees. The remainder was surrounded by forest
" the Lord didn't set a limit on the size, so I think this should suffice for you trash " said Damian with a snort before he turned to leave
Leo glanced around, finding that the land was pretty flat, it'd need some work but it had a good foundation, especially for what he had in mind
He turned his attention to Damian, he was tempted to gang up on him and beat him but he ultimately decided not to.
He had already offended the Baron, so keeping his head down, was his current priority

10 days, came and went in a hurry. With his current identity, they no longer had to hand in fish to stay in the territory, and he was also allowed to sell a portion of his fish. 30% but it was better than nothing
He used the fish, to hire a bunch of workers from the village, to clear the surrounding trees and land, 10kg of fish per day per worker
He managed to get 70 workers, the others either had their own source of fish or simply didn't care to work for him.
In less than a week's time, they managed to clear a stretch of land, 300 metres long by 200 metres wide. Keeping all the trees and removing everything else
While they were working, Leo led the girls to start on another project. This project would determine how comfortable their lives were in the next couple months, and after several attempts and just as many failures. He finally succeeded
Bricks. He had found that the rivers around here had a rich concentration of clay. He was planning to use it to build a house when they left to develop on their own....but plans change
He finally found the most durable ratio, of clay, sand, straw and water and he led the girls to make thousands of bricks and left them to dry while the people he hired worked
As for the binding agent. He intended to use mortar, cement would be the better option but he didn't have neither the means or the time
On the 8th day, after the workers had left, he led the girls to build a foundation and a wall. Intending to give them an example of how strong mortar and bricks actually were. After they all tried and failed to knock it over or damage it, the finally gave up reluctantly
On the 9th day, he led them to mark out the size of the barracks he needed. He considered if they should build it themselves but found that it didn't make sense
They couldn't hide the building, it was still the baron's territory, so he'd still eventually find out. If he had interest in the bricks and mortar, he could exchange them for any benefits needed
On the 10th, day, they hired the same builders and started construction , while also purchasing 9 more girls, making his group now have 21 people, including himself

2 days from now would make 5 months he was in this world.
' A lot has changed since then ' thought Leo as he climbed out of the multiple body parts thrown across his body, glancing at the barely risen sun through the window
' will somethings never change ' thought Leo as he looked at the girls, still fast asleep. This barracks has 30 separate bedrooms, and yet they still all came to his bed at night claiming they were used to sleeping like this
Leo quietly opened the door and walked outside, walking through the hallway, making his way towards the field downstairs to begin his workout before heading to the kitchen to make breakfast before the girls woke up
This field was 265 metres long, 139 metres wide. 1 lap was 1kilometre, the outer lane was even longer. It was just compacted soil, he didn't bother to mark out individual lanes
As he jogged he looked at the barracks surrounding the entire field, on the west wing where he came from held all the bed rooms. Though he used them as single bed rooms, they could hold 10 soldiers, meaning 300 people in the entire barracks
The north wing had the great hall, which was mostly used as a classroom. The kitchen and other supplies were held in the East Wing
The southern wing held, all the weapons and training equipment. Which consisted of several barbells, stone weight plates and dumbbells. He paid masons to make. From 5lbs up to 100lbs
On the outside, they were pull up bars, dip bars. Rope climb, rock climb, various obstacles to test balance and coordination
Everything he could think of that would help build further strength, untop of their training
As for look out towers and the like? There were none. He didn't want to give the baron the idea that he was creating a territory inside a territory
The entire barrack took 1 month to complete, this was even when he cut back on any finer details and kept it basic. It was simply a rectangular box around an oval.
What they did spend time on was reinforcement. The wall was a metre thick at it's thinnest points. The outer wall reached 3 metres
It was tried and tested in the past 8 waves they faced. No skeleton warriors below level 5 bronze Knight could break through the outer wall into the inner wall. Their swords chipped off brick at most
As for stronger? He had no idea as he hasn't seen any beyond that level, as if that level was the limit of the current population
Their rope strategy was practically perfected. Not to mention that it got easier as their strength increased. They were the only people who stayed in the territory when the time comes, everyone else, including the Baron leaves
This time, they don't have to borrow weapons, as they ordered their own. Expensive but with their fish traps, money wasn't really an issue.
Outside of that. Besides their daily duties of collecting the fish and helping out on the potato farm, which they placed on the outside of the barracks.
They spent their time training. When they got up, fasted cardio, followed by a bath then breakfast. Which was followed by weighted calisthenics, while he himself did weight training alongside the calisthenics
That usually lasted 2 hours. Which was then followed by lunch. After lunch, came Archery training, another 2 hours.
Which was followed by dinner number one which was followed by sword training for another 2 hours. Which was then followed by dinner number 2, which was then followed up by classes
As for where the classes came from? Well for one, to teach different strategies used in battle. Well whatever he remembered, his high intelligence brought a strong memory but that didn't mean much if he didn't know the knowledge before hand
He never read any books on war. Most of what he knows now came from movies, so whatever formations and such that existed in his previous world, he couldn't say. So most of it was him feeling out and drawing reference
The other reason? Biology, in this case puberty.....something he didn't consider at all. Leo chuckled as he remembered that morning 2 months ago
Rebecca awoke everyone with screams as she came running towards him in panic, the clothes between her legs stained with blood.
He remembered how he froze as she talked about how she was cursed, and this is probably why she was called the red one. So he came to a cross roads, find a woman to explain what was actually happening or do it himself
He did the latter, he probably knew way more than anyone in this world about the subject, judging by each of the girls reactions. They were just as clueless as Rebecca. He didn't have daughters in his previous lives, but he's had girlfriends, so he had experience with this aspect
After helping her get cleaned up, and spending points, turning sanitised cloth into a pad, which he upgraded for the heck of it, which gained the ability to remove cramps by up to 80%, and speed up the process. So it finished in under 2 days
Something that would have made him a billionaire in his previous life. Shaking away the thoughts, this shown light on other aspects he didn't consider
Rebecca was malnourished, which is why she didn't menstrate. As she got proper nutrition and got healthier, it was obvious what would happen
This also exposed the fact that they didn't have underwear. He could still remember the look Lisa gave him when he explained and drew examples of underwear
He had read so many fantasy books and not once, was anything of this sorts mentioned. Plus he was busy trying not to die, so puberty didn't cross his mind at all
So that day, he sat all girls down and explained everything that needed to be known. Which evolved from biology, to language, to math, expanding their knowledge
Finishing up, his 20 laps, he went to the side and started stretching, distracted as he fell into thought before he started eating dried fish.
Getting up and walking to the equipment before attaching weights to his body. His arms, his legs, his chest and started running once more
