Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: I'll do as I please

"What is the meaning of this?!" An elder smashed his palm on the table.

"The ancestor had speak his mind. Liu Yang will be accepted as a disciple of our sect." Patriarch Flaming Blade spoke calmly.

"Our sect is a sect of fire and blade. There is a reason why our sect is known as the best sabre sect in this continent." Another elder commented.

"Besides, the body path is known as a declining path. This path is hazardous, and the gains may not worth the sacrifices."

"Not to mention, the body refining arts of our sect would only work as a supplement for his cultivation. It will only hinder his progress."

The body path is where cultivator cultivate their flesh, refining their body and tempering their fleshly state. Cultivators who cultivate their body usually has a weak Essence. In exchange, their physical body are extremely strong.

Their skin are like an impenetrable shield, each fibre of their flesh contains an imaginable strength and their blood flows with vitality.

However, as powerful body cultivators are, the gains are not worth the sacrifices to most cultivators. The process of tempering the body is painful and hazardous. If they are careless, it could leave an internal injury without the cultivators noticing.

In addition, their essence will be many times lower in terms of quality and quantity. Therefore, in most cases, many body cultivators will have a lower martial prowess in the early realms of their cultivation compared to spiritual cultivators.

Furthermore, the path of the body is extremely hard and long. It requires a huge amount of resources, and as their cultivation improve, so does the resources needed for them.

Lastly, in the recent years, the path of Body cultivation has been declining and many body refining arts have long gone in the long river of time.

Because of this, many rarely cultivate their body.

"The ancestor has decreed." Patriarch Flaming Blade calmly stated, staring at the elder with a bored look on his face, "Is that a good enough explanation?"

"But joining our sect will only be dampening his future."

"And? What does it matter if that brat's talent is effected?" A voice suddenly spoke.

Following his voice, a powerful aura descent on them. A figure of flame enters the room.

Ancestor Flaming Blade, the founder of the Flaming Blade Sect and the strongest expert of the sect. He wears a red robe, similar to the robes that many elders and disciples wore. The only difference is that his robe has a purple embroidery of dragon and phoenix on the left side of his robe, adding a hint of grandeur to his appearance.

His long hair is as white as snow, a sign of old age while his muscular body stood almost two metres tall. A huge sabre, half the size of his body float beside him, exuding a terrifying sabre aura.

"He simply joined our sect because he needs a place to stay. Knowing this, he probably won't even bother with the resources from the sect." Ancestor Flaming Blade calmly said while stroking his beard as he enters the meeting room.

"So he is treating our sect as an inn?" One elder doesn't know wether he should be amused or offended.

"I afraid so." Ancestor Flaming Blade can't but chuckle. It seems an apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

•••••

Currently, the person the elders are talking about is currently being glared by the other participants that had been accepted into the sect.

A look of disdain and anger flashes across the eyes of these geniuses.

A defect spiritual root means their spiritual root has no elements. Their absorption of spiritual Qi and refinement of their essence Qi are many time harder than average talents. The best way for them to improve is by embarking on the path of body cultivation.

Given that the path of body cultivation is declining and that many techniques of refining the body have been lost to time, Liu Yang's chance of reaching the peak is slim.

Even the body refinement arts of the Flaming Blade Sect are of the lower quality.

Therefore, many disdains him. To them, he is merely a genius with an uncertain future.

Liu Yang however, completely ignores them. His attention is currently on an extremely important matter.

That us enjoying the food he had made.

Is it delicious?

'This tastes like junk.' Liu Yang nodded in satisfaction, 'As expected of me, my food tasted the worst.'

It seems he had inherited the Dragon Emperor's cooking skills which are nonexistent.

'In the future, it seems I will have to take a beautiful girl who knows how to cook as a wife.'

Or else he'll have to endure the pain of eating his own meal

As Liu Yang is enjoying the meal made from the deepest pit of hell, a bell rang, catching his attention.

His attention shifted. Looking up, his gaze landed on the elders who are standing on the floating platform.

"Greetings everyone!" A booming voice resounded.

An outer court elder float in the air, "From now on all of your are officially a disciple of my Flaming Blade Sect. "

"As you already know, beneath the Profound Spirit Academy, there are four forces known as the Four Great Forces. Our Flaming Blade Sect is one of these Four Great Forces alongside the Everground Temple, Dark Night Palace and the Beast Dominion Sect."

"Our Flaming Blade Sect is known for their mastery of the sabre Dao and the fire Dao."

As he said this, the elder unsheathe the sabre in his hand and slash. A scorching hot fire erupted from the blade of the sabre, shooting out and lighting up the entire grand hall.

The flame spread across the entire ceiling, creating what can only be described as a sky of fire.

For the disciples on the floor, their gazes lit up.

Such a powerful saber technique!

Even when they are on the floor, they could sense the scorching heat.

Liu Yang yawn in boredom.

The old man is already a middle stage Core Condensation realm and still hasn't comprehend any sabre intent. Has that man fallen so low to allow such a thing to happen?

How could he allow such trash be an elder? Of course, the elder is only an outer court elder. Therefore, it is understandable that he is trash.

Sadly, ever since Liu Yang arrived here, there are only two individuals who had comprehended a sabre intent. Those two old men are already just a few steps to the grave.

Even those so called core disciples who are in a seclusion are trash who can't even comprehend a sabre intent.

The elder had not noticed the disdains Liu Yang was showing him.

He continues with his explanation.

"As the name of our sect suggests, most techniques of our sect are related to fire and sabre. As a sabre based sect, we do have a few body refinement arts as most sabre techniques require a powerful physique to be executed."

The elder continue his speech.

Outer disciples are the lowest of the low in the sect's hierarchy. Theiy consists of those who are the newly accepted into the sect, mostly still in the Body Tempering realm. For these disciples, they will have to do chores, attend a class from any outer court elders once a week and have to live in the most thin spiritual Qi in the sect.

Inner court disciples are slightly better. The moment an outer court disciples reached the Qi Refining realm and are able to passed a test, they have the right to enter the Inner court. The spiritual Qi in the area is denser, they will more access to more powerful techniques and the facilities are better.

Core disciples are as their name suggests. They are the core of the sect. Each and every one of them are a talent in their own right. In then future, they will be possibly be the elders of the sect if they were given time to grow.

From time to time, he would glance at Liu Yang.

Much to his disappointment, Liu Yang has fallen asleep. A bowl placed on his hand.

In reality, Liu Yang is not even sleeping. It's just that his posture looks extremely lazy and laid back. His head propped up by his hand, supporting him from falling. Paired with his blindfold, he indeed looks ook like he is sleeping.

'How boring, I was only here because I sensed the Alchemy Sovereign's subordinate residing in this sect. What a shame, his blade has gone dull from the years of being in seclusion and he had no interest in telling me where their inheritance is located.'

'If I had known any better, I would had just joined the Profound Spirit Academy. Though I doubt it the old man would allow me.'

Seeing Liu Yang still sleeping, elder sneered, waving his hand in a casual manner. What many had not noticed was the needle sized sabre Qi shooting through the air.

The sabre Qi is small and there is no killing intent. Given Liu Yang's physical strength, it should not kill him. At least, he should be badly injured. Enough to discipline him.

Suddenly, Liu Yang waved his hand. In an instant, the elder's sabre Qi was destroyed.

Liu Yang casually look up, meeting the elder's gaze.

At that moment, the elder felt his whole body shudder in fear. In his vision, he is not seeing a boy. He is seeing a dragon with scales of molten gold and a pair of crimson red eyes looking down on him.

At that moment, it feels like all of his years of cultivation become nothing. Before those pair of eyes that contains the ed wisdom far surpassing any sages, he feels like an ant being gazed down by an ancient deity.

"Enough." A powerful aura soon descended.

Of course, none of the disciples below can sense this presence. Even the elders can't sensed this descending aura. They are simply too weak.

Instead, this aura locked on Liu Yang who calmly look up to the sky. His eyes gleams in golden colour underneath his blindfold as he looks up to the sky.

"Little friend Liu, we had accepted you into the sect albeit only as an outer court disciple, this venerate hopes little friend Liu will not cause any problem for us." The voice of the second ancestor spoke.

Liu Yang amused, "I did not do anything."

It can't be help that his soul contains the essence of a Great Emperor powerhouse. Unless your soul or willpower is strong enough, you will automatically submit to him the moment you met his gaze.

"That is true, but sometimes not doing anything can be worst."

From his words, the second ancestor indicated that he had sensed the abnormality of his soul.

"I am considered as a part of the older generation. Naturally, I won't land a hand on those who are a part of the younger generation," Liu Yang smiles, "However, that does not mean I won't 'discipline' them in case they lacks the basic respect for their elders."

A sigh was heard to which Liu Yang reply with a chuckle.

"My name is Jun Zaohao and all of you can call me senior brother Jun, currently I am ranked 30 in the list of outer disciples." An outer court disciple spoke.

The elder before had been too traumatised he had been forced to take a few days leave and attain a spiritual psychiatrist.

Jun Zhaohao swept his gaze across the youth before landing on Liu Yang.

Liu Yang's eyes flicker in golden light underneath his blindfold. This senior brother Jun doesn't even try to hide his malice.

Jun Zaohao threw a piece of jade to each of the youths.

"The number on the jade plate is the number of the living quarters each of you will be living in. As an outer court disciple, you will have to share a living quarter, eight disciples for each living quarter."

Zun Zaohao's gaze landed on Liu Yang, "You, you are Liu Yang right?" He asked.

Liu Yang point at himself "Me?"

"Yes you, considering that you have quite the talent, the sect has decided to give you a special living quarter that you can have all for yourself."

As he said this, he threw a jade pallet at him.

Liu Yang easily catch the jade pallet.

A few moments later, Liu Yang can't help but chuckle as he stood in front of his living quarter. If you can even call it that.

The living quarter looks rundown, with veins creeping all over the walls and surrounding the small hut, are tall grasses that reached up to their waist.
