Chapter 12 - Brewing Storm

AN: Alright, as I expected, you all decided to go for the timeskip, and I have been thinking about the plot from there. I've completed my planning. I present to you this next chapter. Enjoy.

Over the course of about 22 years, Alex has been rising steadily, increasing his power, completing missions, and earning merit points, points that allow you to trade with HQ to get any sort of item of worth, be it a Devil Fruit, a treasure, or even a Supreme Grade Sword like Yoru, the Shodai Kitetsu, the Murakumogiri, Ace, or the Yakuza Kasen. Alex himself didn't bother spending them since he didn't need anything all that much.

Recently, the seas have been quieter than usual, and if Alex's memory didn't go rogue on him, the Timeline suggested a certain event happening soon, and Garp being off-duty and probably raising Dragon by now was also an indicator if Alex ever saw one.

A new team has been formed with him as leader; it contained the already legendary marines like Garp, himself, Tsuru, Sen-chan, and good old Z. They were heavily combat-oriented and sent out on very tough missions that came close to the stuff Alex did, facing future Yonkos, messing with Xebec, and helping the World Government on various occasions—overall, a rollercoaster of work.

Apparently Alex jinxed himself by pondering about the God Valley incident, because he received a call from Kong, ordering him and his strike squad to immediately get their asses to God Valley and supervise the Triennial Native Hunting Competition there, hosted by World Nobles. Initially opposed, Alex agreed after he heard of the potential arrival of Xebec and the nearby presence of the Roger Pirates.

Since Garp was going to join them there, being near God Valley on his leave, Alex only had to gather Z, Tsuru, and Sen-chan and set off with their new, high-speed Marine Ship. It wasn't too big, considering at most you had 5 people on it, so it was made smaller, small enough to be manned by 4-5 people.

In the West Blue, God Valley,

A random Celestial Dragon yelled to a crowd of others like him, announcing grandly, You have waited three long years!! So now it is time again for our great sport...the Native Hunting competition!! Our arena this time...shall be the unaffiliated land of God Valley!!"

Cheers errupted among the Celestial Dragons as they rapidly made their way to ships and all sailed there, shouts This place, which has the audacity to name itself the Valley of God...possesses ample natural resources!!" and "We will hold our customary manhunt here...and claim this land for the government!"

The inhabitants were naturally appalled and outraged at this notion. Just how daring do you have to be to invade an island and declare that you will do a manhunt and commit genocide on a government-unaffiliated island?

The King of God Valley, who spoke these thoughts aloud, got killed by a man with quite the striking appearance; he was Holy Knight Saint Figarland Garling. We know him as an old man, but during the God Valley incident, Figarland Garling had a youthful appearance with the same distinctively styled hair—two side-facing spikes and a tall, forward-bent spike—but lacked his present-day facial hair, save for minor chin stubble. His appeal was notable, as he had female admirers swooning over him. He wore a dark cape with thick light fur trim around the collar, a high-collared dark shirt adorned with two government-symbol brooches, and a unique two-toned lower half fastened by a double-buckled belt. His attire also featured dark gloves, light vambraces and pauldrons, dark pants, light greaves, and dark ankle-high boots, reflecting his status as a God's Knight. Unlike many Celestial Dragons, he did not wear a bubble around his head.

The action provided him with -10000 points, meaning in order to win in their competition, he'd have to kill more. He wasn't worried, displaying an aloof demeanor as he responded to no one in particular. In contrast, his fangirls (female celestial dragons) swooned at his feat of killing a Native. "The handicap will make for better competition."

The announcer, who had previously announced the -10000 points for Garling, spoke once again, "In addition to the Rabbit Natives...we have a selection of problem slaves and criminals to hunt!!"

Somewhere nearby, an agent clad in an elegant suit rushed to the side of a huge, bearded man and reported breathlessly, as though he had run a mile before speaking, which was probably true, "They've captured the escaped child, sir. The Buccaneer Boy..." The old man with the beard didn't say anything, his gaze fixed on the happenings nearby. He was Saint Saturn, an Elder.

We once again hear the announcer as he speaks once more, "We've already introduced the 13 Super-Rare-Rabbits—they're worth 10000 points each!! There are also 150 rare rabbits!! One-hit kills will earn you an Excellence Bonus!!! And we have some very fine prizes indeed for the champion!!"

Once the announcement ended with the message of there being 200 World Nobles as Hunters, shots started to echo throughout the whole Townsquare and the "Rabbits" ran and hid as good as they could possible do so, anguished shouts of parents mourning their killed children and they themselves dying permiated the Area as the Hunters shot their shots, though the real hunt would start in an hour.

Over in Marine HQ, Kong called Garp over the transponder snail and had a fun conversation with him:

Garp: Why Such A Remote Isand?!

Kong: I can't tell you! Please, Garp, Just Go!! We're not certain yet...But we cannot afford to take chances!

Garp: Oh, is this the celestial bastards' little field trip? I warned you not to mess with Fullalead!! But who listens to me?

That treasure from Pirate Island! Of course they'll come back to get it.

Kong: Who leaked that information?!

Garp: Hey, they've got lots of security, right? Why the Fear?

Kong: Well, the thing is...we didn't think Roger would get involved...

Garp: Lead with that next time we talk!! I'm going!!!
