They wandered around and visited a few more stalls, and Aiden was enjoying some treats; others had disappointed him, and he was intrigued by the toys that could be bought, most of which were decidedly poorer in quality than his own toys, but not everything was bad. There were a few that caught his attention and he wanted them, but Vivienne would not allow most of them, so that her lesson would stick in his memory. She did not like to punish him, but she knew that it was very important for his upbringing, which involved a lot of discipline.
After the tour, they met Lucian, who was very pleased with what he had been doing in his free time. Lucian ruffled his brother's hair and asked, "How was it? Did you enjoy exploring the city?" Aiden closed his eyes in discomfort and slightly stepped back under the pressure; he glared at his brother with hostility, then, with satisfaction, he began to describe what he had encountered. He talked about the sweets he had tried, saying that he hadn't liked most of them, although some were really good; and about some toys that were quite different from the ones he had at home and were pretty cool, but he didn't like that he couldn't buy the majority of them.
They talked for quite a while about different things, mostly trivial matters that meant almost everything to a child who hardly cared about anything that was routine in the adult world. Aiden didn't really like his brother because he would constantly muss his hair. Lucian, on the other hand, loved his little brother and enjoyed taking care of him.
After some time, they went to an underground shop. The corridor was very lavish for such a place, with beautiful columns, statuettes and paintings on the walls. At the entrance stood a pretty woman dressed in a suit; she asked Vivienne to accompany her and left Aiden and Lucian behind. A dark-haired woman remained with them together with Wolter, and a man went after Vivienne.
"Aah, can we go somewhere? I'm bored," said Aiden, lying on the sofa with his legs in the air and his head hanging down. "Stop whining, it hasn't been that long and it won't take much longer," Lucian said jokingly. Aiden sat up properly and began to eat cookies and sip the juice that the staff had brought.
After some time, Tomas arrived and started talking with Lucian, while Aiden half-listened to kill time, not focusing enough to remember anything. Soon after, Vivienne emerged. Although it had only taken a few minutes, to Aiden it felt like an eternity, and he was very pleased. When he saw Vivienne, who was also very happy, he asked, "What happened that you're so happy?"
Vivienne gave him a slight smile, satisfaction shining on her face, and said, "I got what I wanted."
"That's great, can we go back now?" Aiden asked, clearly happy that it was all finally over.
"Yes," Vivienne replied.
And they left after the staff had seen them off
