"I've missed you, babe," Stella said with a warm smile. "How about we hang out? You know… girls' night?"
Sarah blinked, then dramatically rolled her eyes. "Stella! You want to hang out? Since when? I remember begging you countless times to go out, and every single time, you either gave me one boring excuse or killed my vibe before I could even leave the house. What changed?"
Stella paused, her smile slightly frozen. Nothing changed, she thought silently. Who am I kidding? Sarah knows I hate parties. If I'm not careful, she'll see right through me. She quickly forced a laugh.
"Oh, come on, girlfriend. That was ages ago. Besides, I did go out with you a few times," Stella said, her tone defensive.
Sarah raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, and each time was only because some guy you liked was tagging along. If it were just me, you'd have magically developed a headache."
