Since arriving on the Eternal Continent, the Green Emperor had never suffered such a setback. The rage inside him was instantly ignited. Burning with fury, he launched an attack on the blond youth before him. Green mist had already begun to coil around the young man.
Almost immediately, the blond youth realized something was wrong. The sword he had aimed at the Green Emperor's head suddenly veered off as he sneezed uncontrollably. His wrist twitched, and instead of striking the dog, his blade sliced a nearby ancient tree in two. He barely avoided being bitten. And then—misfortune after misfortune, accident after accident.
Even a fool could see: this wasn't coincidence. No matter how accidental, nothing happened this frequently by chance.
Realizing this, the blond youth had no choice but to flee on his unicorn. The Green Emperor gave chase, cursing viciously. His shrill, grating voice was worse than a crow's screech, drilling straight into the ears like a dozen different tortures.
Endure! Endure! Endure!!
But it was unbearable. The youth slashed at the Green Emperor again.Immediately, a new round of disasters unfolded—misfortunes, strange accidents, like some cursed fate. Wherever he went, calamity followed. Even drinking water might crack his teeth. It didn't take genius to realize the Green Emperor was behind it all.
This fight? Impossible to continue.
One strike, and bad luck descended. So, the youth bolted away, urging his unicorn to flee at top speed. He just wanted to shake the damn dog.
This dog—he never wanted to see it again.
The Green Emperor continued his chase, hurling curses. The youth was about to explode with fury, but he dared not retaliate—only unleashing sword lights to hinder the dog's pace as the unicorn galloped desperately forward.
Though the unicorn was faster, the path ahead kept throwing up obstacles. These slowed it down enough that it couldn't lose the Green Emperor.
"Damn you, mutt! You're going too far! I, Arthur, only slashed you twice—no need to pursue me to death! You can talk, so you must be intelligent. I admit I was wrong to injure you, but this doesn't need to end in blood. I'll compensate you. Let's call it even—don't cross the line. Otherwise, even if I die trying, I'll take you down with me!"
Arthur turned to glare at the dog.
This secret realm for the World's Number One Martial Tournament was no ordinary place. It carried a mysterious power—even those who didn't share a language could now understand each other perfectly. Language barriers between East and West didn't exist here.
"A treasure, huh? If you've got a treasure, toss it over and let this emperor take a look. If it's valuable, maybe I'll forgive you,"cried the Green Emperor, his green eyes gleaming.
Ever since the Golden Restraining Ring had been placed around his neck, he had understood the true value of magical artifacts. One could never have too many treasures.
"I've got a Blood Essence Stone," Arthur said, holding up a blood-red crystal. "They say it's incredibly beneficial for ferocious beasts and demonic creatures. Can enhance cultivation. Give me your word and I'll give it to you. Refuse, and we fight to the death."
The blood-red stone shimmered with blood mist, engraved with bloody lines. One could sense a tremendous amount of essence energy from it.
The Green Emperor's eyes turned emerald with greed.
"You must keep your word,"Arthur warned, then tossed the stone over.
Ding!!
The Green Emperor grinned. A green bell shimmered on his neck and rang crisply. A glow burst forth, and sucked the Blood Essence Stone into it.
This bell had been one of his earlier trophies, and he quite liked its color.
"Come back!" the Green Emperor barked.
Suddenly, the Golden Restraining Ring on his neck flashed with mysterious runes, releasing a golden light. A golden circlet formed in the air and shot toward Arthur.
It moved so fast, he didn't have time to dodge—his body froze in place, encircled by golden light.
This was a power granted by the Golden Restraining Ring. After donning it, the Green Emperor had access to its divine ability: to summon a golden ring to entrap enemies. It could also be used for defense.
Legend had it that the Monkey King Sun Wukong used this same power to draw circles around Tang Sanzang for protection. It was the same divine technique.
"You wretched dog! You broke your promise!" Arthur roared.
He slashed at the golden ring with his stone sword, which, despite its crude appearance, burst with overwhelming power. It crashed down like a mountain and shattered the ring into pieces. Still, it stalled him just long enough—for the Green Emperor to catch up.
Arthur no longer tried to flee. He turned, his eyes cold, glaring at the Green Emperor. His face burned with fury.
This mutt had taken his treasure and then attacked—a backstab right to the face. It was unforgivable.
"Golden Mutt, so what if I tricked you? Bite me if you've got the guts!" the Green Emperor taunted.
His green eyes narrowed, radiating chilling malice.
"Beast! You're dead. Even if it kills me, I'll roast you for dog meat stew!" Arthur snarled, his murderous intent palpable.
Just then—A piercing screech echoed from above, followed by a massive pressure descending from the sky.
"A giant roc… and someone's riding it!"
Arthur looked up, pupils shrinking.
A massive golden roc swooped down with devastating presence. But more shocking—a tall figure stood atop its back.
This beast wasn't wild—it had been tamed.
"Green Emperor!!"
Yi Tianxing stood on the roc's back, descending slowly, and called out to the Green Emperor.
"Yi! You're here! Hurry! Kill that golden-haired bastard—he almost had me killed!"Green Emperor cried out, leaping up.
"You mean 'Master.' Say anything else, and I'll recite the tightening curse. You know what the Restraining Ring can do," Yi Tianxing said calmly, eyeing the ring on the dog's neck.
The Green Emperor shivered.
"So you're this evil dog's master?"Arthur snapped. " You sicced him on me. I demand an explanation!"
Siccing a dog on someone?
Yi Tianxing narrowed his eyes and responded coldly:
"And what if I did?"
"Don't listen to this golden mutt! He struck first! As soon as he saw me, he tried to kill me—and he shouted that he loves dog meat the most. He insulted me! Help me kill him, and I'll swear loyalty—no second thoughts, no betrayal, I swear it!"
Green Emperor's eyes gleamed with fury.
Yi Tianxing looked at him sideways.
"You said it. I didn't force you."
This dog was hard to tame. Such a vow was rare—a pleasant surprise.
"What an evil master. So this is how Eastern cultivators behave—no manners at all."Arthur's face turned grim.
Screech!!The Golden Roc let out a deafening cry, its icy gaze locked on Arthur. One command, and it would attack.
But just as the air tensed—DONG!!
A clear bell toll echoed through the void. A mysterious force wrapped around them both, lifting their bodies into the air.
"Time's already up?"Yi Tianxing frowned. It was the summoning bell of the Martial Tournament, a divine force no one could resist.
"We'll settle this in the tournament," Yi Tianxing said flatly to Arthur.
"Hmph. You'll die by my hand, Yi Tianxing," Arthur replied coldly.
In a flash of light, their figures vanished. They reappeared back around the platform in the sky. The two black and white eggs remained unchanged, still floating at the center.
