After the awakening of the bloodline, the golden carp underwent a transformation.
From a golden carp, it evolved into a golden fish-dragon—a creature far stronger and nobler than before. The fish-dragon was now of dragon descent, and one could clearly see golden dragon whiskers on its body—a defining feature of this transformation.
At that moment, the Spirit of Destiny completed its evolution into a fish-dragon.
This transformation also marked the successful advancement of Yi Tianxing's territory—from a Fairy Village (Xian Village) to a Fairy Town (Xian Town).
✨ New Concept : Fish-Dragon (鱼龙) – a higher-tier destiny spirit symbolizing the shift from village-level to town-level fortune.
"This is a fish-dragon! It really leaped through the Dragon Gate and turned into a dragon species. The fortune has evolved. The fortune of the Fairy Village will now become the fortune of a Fairy Town. We've passed the trial," said Master Lu, nodding forcefully with a faint smile.
The Spirit of Destiny serves as the Fate Core of a power. Previously, the golden carp could only bear the fortune of a village-level territory. It was like a container—only able to hold so much. But now, it could carry the fortune of a town. The "cup" had become a "bowl."
"Still, we must deal with the undead army outside," Huang Chengyan reminded grimly. Although happy, he could not relax. The tide of undead monsters outside continued to surge, their pressure growing by the second.
There was no room for optimism.
At that moment, the sky changed again.
As the fish-dragon's tail emerged completely from the Dragon Gate, the entire gate disappeared in a flash of golden light. Only the fish-dragon remained circling in the air, radiating golden light, then dove down into the Black River below. Wherever its light touched, the black miasma began to disperse rapidly.
The fish-dragon swam upstream toward the village, and as it moved, the Black River visibly evaporated away.
All that remained was a trail of golden light, the vast Black River completely vanished.
The fish-dragon then dove back into the Destiny Space, disappearing from view.
"Good. It's time to fully deal with these undead skeletons."
With the golden carp's evolution into the fish-dragon, Yi Tianxing's main concern was laid to rest. He turned his attention toward the skeleton army outside.
This crisis was unprecedented. Even the Xiongnu army paled in comparison—both in strength and in sheer numbers. But then again, the strength of Xuanhuang Village was no longer what it had once been.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Suddenly, the ground trembled violently. Countless skeleton warriors parted to either side as a massive cavalry unit galloped forth—no less than five thousand undead riders.
Leading the charge was a towering skeletal general.
Behind the general flew two fluttering banners.
As they drew closer, a commotion swept across the entire village wall. Staring at the skeletal general, everyone looked dumbfounded.
"What the hell is this skeleton general? So flashy, and even has banners on his back?"
"So arrogant! 'Invincible'? He dares call himself invincible? Who gave him the nerve?!"
Some villagers were visibly furious.
"I've faced many enemies in my life, but I've never met a general this brazen. He's basically challenging the world!" said Yang Ye coldly, his facial muscles twitching.
It was customary for a general to have a banner carried behind him bearing his name—a mark of rank. But this skeleton general had impaled two banners directly onto his back. And the words on them were outrageous.
Boldly written on the banners were two characters: Wu Di (无敌) – INVINCIBLE.
"What a freak of a skeleton general. Where the hell did this guy come from?" muttered Yi Tianxing, black lines forming on his face.
This was madness. Was he trying to aggro the entire world?
Even the boldest warrior wouldn't walk around with "Invincible" written on his back like that. It completely broke the battlefield tension and even felt... absurd.
But most villagers looked at the Invincible General with fury.
"Attack!!"
With a swing of his warblade, the skeletal general opened his jaw, letting out an eerie cackle. His soul flames flared, and a chilling command from the depths of his soul echoed across the battlefield.
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
The skeleton warriors responded immediately, charging forth in unison. The earth shook with each step, and the clash of bones produced a terrifying cacophony.
The undead army had begun its assault on the village.
Each skeleton held power on par with a cultivator. Their bones radiated terrifying strength. Footprints left behind were deep and jagged. The sheer volume of the undead created a pressure like the sky itself collapsing.
Even the bravest soldier couldn't help but feel shaken.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
The first to attack were the two Arrow Towers.
These towers had grown more powerful through constant monster slaying. They had now advanced to Yellow Rank, Grade 3.
✨ New Upgrade : Arrow Towers – Yellow Rank, Grade 3 (黄阶三品箭塔)– Range: 300 meters– Damage: Equivalent to Spirit Sea Realm, 3rd Layer– Ammo: 27 bolts loaded at once, auto-replenishing, selectable burst fire or continuous fire
Each second, they could fire at least three bolts. The attack speed was like that of a machine gun.
A single bolt pierced a skeleton warrior's skull. The immense force shattered the undead's head, extinguishing its soul flame instantly.
Bolt after bolt soared like lightning, each taking down a skeleton in a dazzling streak of light.
Still, even with two arrow towers killing several per second, it was only a drop in the ocean compared to the massive undead tide. The skeleton army pressed forward fearlessly.
Above them, skeletal birds began to dive toward the village.
"Arrow towers, switch to aerial targets. Don't let any of those bone birds into our airspace!" ordered Yi Tianxing. Among all threats, the skyborne undead posed the greatest risk, and only the towers could defend the skies effectively.
The towers adjusted instantly, launching bolts skyward. A white bone vulture swooped down—only to be blasted out of the sky by a single bolt.
"Ballistae ready! Aim front and fire!!" Yang Ye shouted.
Massive ballistae appeared along the village walls—crafted personally by Master Lu as devastating siege weapons.
Each bolt was inscribed with talismans, custom-forged through the Omniprinter, and much larger than regular bolts. Dozens were stacked on the walls.
"FIRE!!"
A total of four hundred ballistae were deployed around the village, one hundred per wall. Unlike ancient times, where multiple strongmen were needed to draw a ballista, the villagers' enhanced strength made it effortless.
With a single command—
Whoosh!! CRACK!!
Four hundred giant bolts shot out like meteors. They didn't even need to aim. The sheer density of the undead made precision unnecessary.
The frontmost skeletons were instantly blown apart, their bones scattering in all directions.
