Shua!!
Infusing the talisman brush with ink, Yi Tianxing pressed it down on the crystal card.
Unlike traditional talisman paper, the crystal card was smaller in size, making the process of drawing talismans even more difficult. A single misstep would result in failure. Before starting, he had to simulate every stroke in his mind, calculating with precision until he had a complete grasp of the rune's structure.
"Let's start with the Sound Transmission Talisman!"
Without hesitation, Yi Tianxing began to draw the runes for the Sound Transmission Talisman on the crystal card.
Though the medium had changed, it didn't hinder him much. Before long, the complete set of runes for the Sound Transmission Talisman had been etched into the card. Around him, ambient Heaven and Earth energy naturally converged toward the talisman. With a flash of light, the runes were absorbed into the crystal card.
Sound Transmission Talisman — Success!!
A simple horn symbol appeared on the card, not taking up much space.
"Next is the Imprint Talisman!"
While the sensation of success was still fresh, he immediately moved on to the next talisman. Drawing multiple talismans on the same crystal card was risky, as the previous talismans' residual energies would interfere with the rhythm of the new inscription.
To counter this, he had to use his true qi to suppress the lingering energy from the Sound Transmission Talisman, ensuring it didn't affect the inscription of the Imprint Talisman. This method was far more difficult than creating a standalone talisman.
Fortunately, with the aid of his True Dragon Qi, the Imprint Talisman was successfully embedded as well. The runes vanished into the crystal card.
"Two down. Now for the third — the Parent-Child Talisman."
This talisman was considered fairly advanced, often used by Taoists to help locate loved ones using items like hair or clothing to establish a resonant link. Drawing this one was particularly challenging, especially with two existing talismans already on the card.
Crack!
As he attempted to etch the Parent-Child Talisman, the flow of energy was disrupted. The rune collapsed, and a thin crack formed on the surface of the crystal card. Its light dimmed.
"Failed. The disruption also damaged the previous two talismans. Though still usable, their power is now leaking and will eventually dissipate."
Yi Tianxing frowned as he sensed the spiritual energy slowly escaping from the crystal card, like air leaking from a balloon. Eventually, it would be utterly depleted.
"As expected, not easy at all."
Still, he wasn't discouraged. Achieving success on the first try was nearly impossible unless one had heaven-defying luck.
Taking a deep breath, he adjusted his state and started again.
Time slipped by unnoticed as he failed again and again — seven or eight attempts, each failing at the third talisman.
Yet he didn't consider them wasted. After every attempt, he carefully reviewed where the process went wrong.
"It's the interference between the talisman energies. The rhythmic flow of the earlier talismans disrupts the third. I need a way to suppress their influence."
He paused, brow furrowed in thought.
"My True Dragon Qi seems to exert a natural suppressive effect on talisman energies. What if I increased the amount infused into the brush to overpower the interference?"
After a moment of contemplation, he picked up the brush again.
The first two talismans were easily inscribed. When it came to the third, he channeled more True Dragon Qi into the brush.
A flicker of divine pressure radiated from the brush, forcefully suppressing the lingering energies in the card.
Stroke by stroke, the third talisman took shape.
And finally, the Parent-Child Talisman was successfully inscribed.
Success!!It worked — the True Dragon Qi had kept the other talismans in check, allowing the third one to take root.
"This is incredible! I never imagined True Dragon Qi could serve this function. What an unexpected boon."
Excitement flashed in Yi Tianxing's eyes as the third talisman vanished into the card.
Now, only one remained — the Starlink Talisman.
Calming his mind, he began to draw the final rune. With his newfound strategy, he used the same approach.
The pressure was immense, but the True Dragon Qi held firm.
Shua!!
A brilliant light erupted from the card.
Suddenly, the entire crystal card seemed to link with some mysterious location beyond.
"It's done. The Sky Register Card is complete!"
Yi Tianxing's heart pounded with excitement. This card could directly connect to the Starnet, the digital infrastructure he had long envisioned.
With this, his dream could finally become reality.
With a thought, he entered the Qi Luck Pool space.
"Xinghai, I've successfully created a Sky Register Card. Did you feel the connection?"
"Yes, Father!" Xinghai replied quickly. "As soon as it was completed, I sensed it. Once information is recorded, it can be synchronized into the Starnet."
Yi Tianxing smiled.
"Good. You'll have plenty to do soon."
Leaving the Qi Luck Pool, he returned to his meditation chamber.
"It's time to use this treasure."
With anticipation, he produced a peculiar artifact.
It looked like a crystalline rectangular box, almost like a transparent coffin — though that was just a metaphor.
Its surface shimmered with dreamy hues, mystical runes flowing and shifting across it.
The Universal Printer!!
This was a rare treasure he had acquired from a traveling merchant. Though the merchant hadn't understood its true potential, Yi Tianxing had investigated it thoroughly using the Wordless Heavenly Tome.
It was a technological relic transformed by mystical forces, a treasure no longer bound by conventional science.
Its power? To print any object — but only after scanning and registering a sample.
Shua!
He placed the newly crafted Sky Register Card onto the printer. The artifact swallowed it, lights dancing within as it scanned and analyzed every detail.
In what felt like both an instant and eternity, the image of the Sky Register Card appeared on the printer's surface, alongside a line of glowing text:
Sky Register Card: Materials required — Bone Crystals, Talisman Inkstone.
"So fast! It already analyzed the card completely. This thing is incredible."
Though the display resembled a high-tech interface, Yi Tianxing wasn't too shocked.
He opened the printer. Inside was a compartment, currently empty.
Quickly, he placed in a stack of blank crystal cards and a large inkstone of talisman ink, then sealed the device.
With a thought, he confirmed the print command.
Mystic lights once again surged within.
Ding ding ding!!
In mere breaths, card after card was printed and ejected from the machine.
Yi Tianxing picked one up. With just a thought, he could sense its internal talisman structure and faint resonance with the Starnet.
"It really works. This is just like the copiers and printers of the old world. And so fast!"
Fire danced in Yi Tianxing's eyes.
