Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: I Do Believe in Fairy Goblins!

There was nothing I could do to free myself of the flying, fire breathing shadow dragon puppet monster in its grasp. The more I struggled to release my shoulders from the puppet dragon monster's talons, I knew I didn't want it to drop me down to the hard, solid wet pavement below me in the middle of the streets.

I held on tight to the flying creature's talons. Desperate not to slip and plunge to my doom. I couldn't watch as I saw ugly, fairy goblin kids coming out of the tunnel sewer lids in the streets.

Carrying baskets of whole eggs and toilet paper in them, the goblins hurried to get ready to toss the eggs at the neighborhood's cars in the street and their driveway.

The shadowy flying dragon monster puppet swooped down and dropped me in the middle of my grandparent's house in Supernaturalville. Where the fairy goblin kids surrounded me in frustration.

They grabbed whole white eggs out of their brown wooden basket they carried in their hands, and got ready to aim them at me! I tried to run and go inside my grandparent's front door. But the door was locked.

"Grandma!" I cried, angrily. Desperate to open the front door. I turned around and tried to see if I can make peace with the fairy goblin children who were not struggling to put up their fight with me.

I turned to look up in the night sky. The fire breathing shadow dragon puppet monster was circling around my Grandmother's house. i couldn't do anything to distract their attention.

My heart was pounding. There was too many fairy goblin children surrounded me. A skater goblin boy hopped on a skateboard and sailed on the porch and got in my face.

Holding the whole white grocery egg in his hand, the skater goblin boy tossed the egg in the air in his hands. And was about to angrily toss the egg at my face...

When suddenly, the front door to my Grandma's house clicked open. And my Grandma appeared in the doorway. She was surprised to see me there with so many fairy goblins ready to threaten and bombard us with eggs and toilet paper tissue.

"Dear! I got you!" Grandma said, soothingly. And dragged me into the house and closed the door. Just as the skater fairy goblin boy smashed his whole white egg at our front screen door in anger.

"This can't be really happening," Grandma said, looking out the window of the living room curtain in our darkened living room. "What could make this any worse?" she asked. She turned away from the curtained living room window. Then, she started pacing back and forth in front of the living room couch.

I didn't want Grandma to feel scared. I knew the fairy goblins were going to come after us if we didn't do something to stop believe in them they are real.

Suddenly, there was something rumbling inside of our chimney fire place. "Something's coming down our chimney, Emma!" Grandma yelled. We both ran over to the chimney and looked up the chimney.

"Can you see anything, Grandma?" I asked. Dust and soot covered our faces. As we both looked up our brick chimney in our living room. Just as I was about to look away from the opening in the chimney, I felt a sick thwack as a eggshell crashed and fell on my face!

Grandma tried not to laugh as she saw running egg yolk rolling down my face. "You look ridiculous, kid," Grandma laughed. "Santa Clause must really like you," she said.

Just before I was about to respond, there was a pounding knock on the front door in our living room. Grandma and I looked at each other..."Who's-who's there?" Grandma called, stammering. There was another pounding knock on the front door.

Grandma and I walked over to the front door. I looked out the front window in the living room of the closed curtained window. And looked out the front lawn.

"There's nobody there, kid," Grandma said. I looked more cautiously at the shadowy, fogged night front lawn. "We should call the police. I don't think it would be safe to open the door for strangers we don't know," Grandma told me.

"Maybe it's a friend of mine," I said, curiously. I didn't know what to do. The person knocking on the door, still didn't go away. The stranger at our front door wasn't giving up. He kept knocking several times in a row, just to be annoying, I think.

Grandma stepped back to look in the peephole. Looking out, she saw the Goblin King of Everybody at the front door. He looked eager to come after me.

"Let him in, Grandma," I said, softly. I knew it wasn't what Grandma wanted to hear from me. But I couldn't pretend he wouldn't go away until he gets what he wants from me.

"Are you sure, love?" Grandma asked. I nodded and stepped back into the living room. "Okay, you're call," she said. Slowly unlocking the front door, Grandma stared out the front door at the stranger before us.

Before us was the Goblin King of Everybody as he appeared shocked to have finally obeyed him. I stepped beside Grandma and turned to the Goblin King's attention.

"Time to come with me, love," he told me. Looking at me directly at me, he pointed a pudgy, green finger at me. "You are needed in my fairy goblin kingdom," he continued. "There is much to do," the Goblin King of Everybody said.

Grandma turned and looked at me. "Is he serious, love?" she asked. Looking at Grandma in the eye, I shook my head and nodded. "The goblins are nothing more than something out of a children's fiction storybook," she said. "Why would you still believe in something not meant to be real?" Grandma asked, frowning worriedly at me.

I knew it was going to take more than words to describe how I felt this was going to turn out between the Goblin King of Everybody and my relationship.

Hearing rambunctious shouts and screams coming from the fairy goblin boys and girls, who were anxiously tossing whole white eggs at the side of our house. Egging all over lawn ornaments at our garden. And tossing toilet paper tissue at her gnarly tree in our front lawn.

It was something getting out of control. The little fairy goblin kids were chasing each other as they tossed colored whole eggs at each other. Thwacking them on top of their eggs. Letting egg yolk go down their hair.

I wanted it all to stop suddenly. But the fairy goblin kids were to energetic. Their wild behavior was getting out of control. What kind of life could I possibly give to be with the Goblin King of Everybody. If nobody could get along without getting into too much fighting, I don't think I want anything to do with the world of the Goblin King of Everybody.

"It's going to get worse, if you don't come join me, Emma Heart," said the Goblin King of Everybody. "The world beyond your imagination can only grow stronger with power to make believe is more fun than anything you can ever imagine," he said.

I wanted to believe everything he promised me. But I didn't feel comfortable going with somebody who wouldn't be good to me. I wouldn't love somebody who didn't love me for what I am as a person. I couldn't stop believing in what is right and real.

"If I do believe in the fairy goblins," I began, "will life ever be any easier to believe you are more real to me than a loving relative?" I asked. Lightning flashed from the dark stormy night sky. A force of gust of wind nearly blew away.

"The power to believe the ones you love is more stronger than hate and greed put together," said the Goblin King of Everybody. "It will get better if you believe and come with me, Emma Heart," he continued.

He reached out his plump, green hand for me to take. "I do believe in fairy goblins," I confessed. "But I don't want to forget the real world around me. I'm not going to stop knowing what it was meant like to have real life with family and friends. If I go with you, will you promise to never part with me, ever?" I asked. As lighting flashed again from the stormy night sky.

"You have no choice, Emma Heart! Come and live a happy life in the fairy goblin kingdom. I will treat you good and fair and decent. It's getting late, Emma. Take my hand and join me!" said the Goblin King of Everybody.

Suddenly, as I was about to take the Goblin King of Everybody by the hand, a rowdy fairy goblin boy laughed at me. As he tossed a colored whole egg at my forehead with a splat!

THE END?!
