The first round was over, the second round was about to begin. He watched the opponents on each stage. On stage 1 Nass was having a rematch with Aston, the mage she beat.
He had used his chance to challenge another and take their spot after losing to Nass. He did not acknowledge her win, he thinks she won through cheap tricks.
He looked at her. The fight began but neither had moved. You won through cheap tricks last time, don't think it going to be same this time as well.
Is that so, she looked completely serious this time. I'm sorry but I don't have time to play so this might hurt a little. Should we begin then? He asked with a straight face.
We shall. They started casting spells, thorns 30cm long appears around her while tiny fireballs the size of a child fist appeared around him.
They shot their spells at each other. The thorns were on the losing side, they burst into flames the instant they got into contact with the fireballs.
My attributes counters yours perfectly, you have no way to win miss, please save us the trouble and you some pain and give up. She didn't say anything.
Giant leaves shaped like shuriken appeared all around her and shot at him faster than sound. He continued blasting her with fireballs, although they were small they were super condensed.
The heat was confined within them and was only released when they combusted so no energy was lost. Although it appeared as if she was losing as all her attacks turned into flames Fabro thought differently.
She had an innate disadvantage against her opponent but she was actually holding her own against him, not only that, he was already using his will of fire or a variant of it but she was yet to incorporate will into her attacks.
She was simply overpowering his attacks with her mana, it seemed to be more pure than his. Although they were all using the same mana breathing technique there were difference in talent.
Normally the same mana breathing technique would result in the same mana purity, that in general but individuals are able to purify the mana even further either consciously or subconsciously.
He had also provided a simple mana purification technique, it was self created technique. Since he did not have mana he used to purify his body and rid it of impurities.
Since his body was technically a weapon it was similar to a forging technique and was painful. To him, it made his body feel like it was burning and stabbed multiple times.
His own body refinement technique was more painful than that so this one was nothing, he just used it for touch up incase the solution he used for tempering his body missed something.
For them though it was different, since they used it to purify their mana it tempered their mana veins which was extremely painful, he doubted it was anywhere near as painful as his technique but it was still excruciating.
However this experience helped them increase their will power, those who were more willing to bear the pain ended up having mana much more pure than others.
Some had even developed the pain resistance skill. He turned his attention back to the stage. At some point she started attacking him with vines.
He was more vigilant this time to make sure no vines sneaked up in him but that drew his attention away from the fight, he could no longer fully focus to his opponent.
She did not miss that opportunity, a much smaller leaf shuriken slipped through and cut him in the shoulder, he grimaced and took a step back.
He started sending larger spells like fire javelin and fire arrows at her, she blocked all of them but have was doing was wasteful, If she used her will to fight his she would not need to waste so much mana.
Why is she doing this? She might have mana more pure that his but the difference was not that much, the reason she lasted this long without will is because he was barely using his as well.
He was using weak spells for now. Both of them were not taking this fight seriously yet until she used her own will. Her leaves were now covered in a green aura.
Mother of harvest in the eternal garden, raise your solders lest pest consume your bounty Legion of the evergreen she said, a forest of green grew on the stage, the trees grew arms and legs and turned into treants with green leaves.
The treants were covered by her will, they were not true treants of course they were not alive and didn't even have a face but they looked intimidating.
When death and destruction reigned, the eternal flame of life weeped for her lost children, tears of the sorrowful mother he said and rain of fire appeared.
It rained upon the stage and set the green legion ablaze. Even within the fire the legion marched towards him. They swung their burning arms littered with holes from the heavy rains of fire.
He conjured shield after shield but each one was broken. He waved his arms around gathering the raining around him. Flames danced around him as he shaped them Into different weapons.
Spears and swords flew towards the legion reaping them into shreds. He swung them forward and crescent slashes of fire flew towards the legion and ripped multiple of the treants apart.
He reaped them like wheat in harvest season yet more kept coming, it was as if the army was endless. He was starting to run low on mana and his mind could nolonger bare the strain of using so many spells one after another.
He was frowning but kept going, he couldn't think of another way to deal with this but what he did not notice was that she was straining as well, a drop of blood flowed out if her nose.
She could feel it inside her when she accidentally created the spells, infact she doubted if she even created the spell. It put too much of a strain on her mind as If it was a higher grade.
She couldn't exactly place what it was but she could tell instinctively that she needed something to be able to use the spell effectively.
For now the treants were nothing more than threes shaped like treants, she needed to mentally control each one of them but it was still a powerful spell.
Each of the trees were durable and had tremendous strength. She watched as they pushed her opponent to the edge of the stage.
The legion was not endless actually he just healed them whenever he destroyed them so they appeared endless to him since those healed came from behind.
She had to admits though, he was strong, very strong infact, if her will comprehension was not higher than his she would've lost even with such pure mana.
Her opponent slipped, he did not realise under the pressure of the assaults but he was at the very edge of the stage as he took a step back to dodge a flaming wood arm he fell out.
Huh? He looked baffled
