Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Crossing the Great Sea

"Nature Titan, Giantwood Clan?"

Jarius vaguely felt that the name of this troll clan sounded familiar.

However, after observing earlier, he noted that the troll who spoke was the strongest in this tribe, at the Hero tier.

This eased Jarius' concerns somewhat.

Seeing the troll tribe's invitation, Jarius decided to descend and learn why this troll clan had come to the shores of the Eastern Sea.

If these trolls traveled ten thousand miles further, they'd reach the Eastern Sea. Were they planning to become neighbors?

He turned to Roel and the other eaglefolk beside him.

"Roel, come with me. The rest of you, stay here and keep watch."

"Yes, Chief!"

After giving his orders, Jarius descended with Roel into the troll tribe.

His first words were direct.

"Trolls, we are not of the Eaglefolk Clan, but the Winged Man Clan, who have lived on these coastal lands for generations!"

The trolls, now seeing Jarius and his group clearly, marveled in admiration.

The troll chief who had spoken earlier exclaimed.

"My mistake! You possess the radiant beauty of Titans, far beyond what the Eaglefolk could compare to."

He introduced himself.

"Honored one, I am Lansent Giantwood, Chief of the Giantwood Clan!"

A smile deserves courtesy, so Jarius responded politely.

"Greetings, Lansent. I am Jarius, Chief of the Winged Man Clan!"

Then, he cut to the chase.

"I wish to know why the Giantwood Clan has come to the shores of the Eastern Sea. Do you plan to settle here?"

Sensing Jarius's wariness, Lansent gave a wry smile.

"We have no intention of settling here. We've come to this place to cross the sea to another continent."

"Cross the sea?!"

Jarius was stunned.

In this era, crossing the ocean was no small feat!

"Indeed," Lansent confirmed.

"We will brave the vast ocean to reach another continent."

"Why? That seems far from a wise decision,"

Jarius pressed.

"I thought so too," Lansent admitted. "But this is the final will of Her Grace, the Nature Titan Tyrael!"

"A final will? Has Her Grace Tyrael passed?"

"Yes, honored Jarius. Though Her Grace fell in battle, in her final days, she summoned us, shared a prophecy, and guided us to cross the eastern sea to escape the torment of war!"

Lansent explained.

In truth, there was a deeper secret: the possibility of reviving the Nature Titan Tyrael. This was the true reason they had to cross the sea.

But that was not something to share with Jarius.

Lansent's words were meant to dispel Jarius's suspicions, ensuring their tribe could cross the sea without issue.

Too many had already died on this journey, and Lansent wanted no trouble at this critical moment.

As expected.

Jarius, though still surprised by the troll clan's decision to cross the sea, did not press further. He nodded.

"I understand, Chief Lansent. The Winged Man Clan will not hinder your journey across the sea."

"Thank you!"

Jarius then asked Lansent about the war between the Titans and the Ancient Dragons.

He learned that the conflict was fiercely intense, with no signs of ceasing—only escalating further.

Countless lives had already been lost in this war, a true calamity for all living beings!

Lansent spoke with lingering fear.

In his view, even without crossing the sea, their tribe would have suffered devastating losses in this war.

Jarius nodded in understanding.

He knew the war would ultimately end in mutual destruction, but he didn't know when this apocalyptic conflict would conclude.

From the trolls' account, it seemed it would rage for years to come!

Afterward, Jarius and his group returned.

In the days that followed.

He kept a close watch on the troll tribe.

True to their word.

The Giantwood Clan began felling trees and building ships along the Eastern Sea, working tirelessly day and night.

One year later.

The ten-thousand-strong Giantwood Clan boarded their wooden vessels and set sail across the vast ocean, never to return!
