Many people gasped at the sight of a beautiful young woman standing before a frail young man. Her words made everyone look at the man with pity, disgust, and some of the other young men looked at him in annoyance. However, just as everyone was trying to figure out what happened, the young woman spoke.
"Why the hell are you staring at me, you disgusting creep! You couldn't even bother hiding your gaze you damned pervert?!"
Kai's lips trembled as he held his hand against his right cheek, in utter bewilderment. He immediately tried to defend himself.
"W-wait, It wasn't like that-"
Another slap echoed throughout the room and the young woman grabbed Kai's collar. The frail young man's cheek was already red because of his pale skin but now it was a bright red hand imprint that was visible on his cheek. The beautiful young woman scoffed and retorted in an annoyed tone.
"Shut it, you Outer Shell mutt! Who do you think you are to look at me that way?!"
Kai's blood slowly began to boil, however just before another slap could happen or Kai could retaliate, Sakura swiftly pulled Kai out of the young woman's grasp. She had a horrified look on her face while looking at the woman that had just attacked her new friend. Sakura quickly turned her attention to the frail young man in her arms and started speaking frantically.
"H-hey, Kaito are you okay?!"
Sakura felt a slight sense of relief as Kai nodded and stood up properly, glaring at the beautiful woman that he was gawking at not too long ago.
"What on earth is your problem?!"
Before the situation could escalate any further, guards finally made their way to the three kids and escorted them away, treating Kai rougher than the other two of course. The young man winced as he felt the strength of the older Enlightened threatening to crush his arm. With that, the beautiful young woman and the two kids from the Outer Shell were brought out of the huge room and everyone was encouraged to scatter and go to the main office to state their details from their first trial.
Kai was furious at the events that had just occurred, he felt like he was being unfairly treated. He wasn't the only one looking so why just him, why did he only get slapped? The guards too are treating him so roughly unlike the two other girls.
'Damnation... How did it get to this point...? Does everyone just hate me or something?'
The young man felt something within his soul stir at the thought of being hated. Suddenly Kai felt slightly uncomfortable, but it didn't matter as he was roughly sitting down on the seat before him. There was an older woman, seemingly in her mid thirties, holding a pencil and a notebook.
"I am Theresa. It is a pleasure to meet you. Could you tell me your name? We are going to go over what has happened to you within your first trial."
Kai suddenly shuddered, this was the most important part of the academy, apart from choosing your courses. Well, that's what they assumed, but he truly did have a reason to keep quiet and not reveal most of the bizarre things that had happened to him. After all, Kai didn't want to be a warrior and fight for mankind, he wanted to be a lazy bum and live comfortably inside the Shell after his second trial.

Kai found himself face to face with his dormitory not too long after explaining what had happened to him within the trial. The young man was smiling as he opened the door and stepped inside, the space was luxurious and massive. Well at least to Outer Shell kids like him, to those pampered kids it was probably too small.
'This is Just amazing! This room is even bigger than mine when I lived with that stupid adoptive family of mine! Although... I wonder how they're doing now...'
Kai shook his head and scoffed, there was no point in thinking of them. They made him miserable everyday, he was happy to be free of them. The young man closed the door and slowly walked around the place, approaching his bed. Kai was grinning from ear to ear as he jumped onto the bed, feeling the soft fabric and the warmth of the bed. He let out a contempt sigh before remembering something.
'Wait, I never checked my curse, did I? I'll check it now.'
Kai sat up as a blue panel materialized before him and extended vertically, displaying his information. His gaze scanned each row before finally falling on something new he hadn't seen before. It was right under his unauthorized ability.
[Curse: Sin of Greed]
Kai paused after reading the name of his curse, and suddenly he began to get a bad feeling about this. Knowledge and greed, what did his curse do? The young man let out a shaky sigh before continuing to read.
[Sin of Greed] Curse Description: "One of the most vile sins of all, the hunger for more, to keep things for themselves. This sin that attached itself onto the Demon of Knowledge and never let go. You can not share any of the knowledge you have learned while using your blessing and ability, you must keep it all to yourself."
The young man's eyes widened in shock. His lips quivered slightly as he looked away from the blue panel that quickly dematerialized into blue fragments and then into nothing. A soft frustrated sigh escaped Kai's lips as he thought of his curse. It was not necessarily all that terrible, right?
'It's fine, I'm sure that if I were to partner up with people in my second trial they should be able to learn things by themselves... Surely... there's no way they wouldn't, it will just take some time....'
Kai shook his head and laughed nervously while laying back down on the bed, his expression still remained one of shock and slight fear. After all, what if he was the reason his team would die in the second trial because he couldn't tell them anything.
'It's fine... I could just show them... Yes, I just have to show them! But what if it meant I couldn't share in any way? No, it'll be fine, ugh this doesn't even matter that much! I'm not in the trial yet!'
The young man closed his eyes and let out a soft sigh. He was exhausted from everything that had happened today.
