Shaun's Next step on the island is very simple in description, but he doesn't know when it would be completed. While he can sense the archways, he can only do so when in proximity, so it's like a treasure hunt.
Seeing no point otherwise since he's alone, he releases Himiko and takes out his Dowsing device; she snuggles into the device's recess, knowing what to do.
Eris on his Shoulder just has a curious look at the device since human tech is so foreign to her, and she jumps a little when the dead device lights up due to Himiko's involvement.
With no direction in mind besides northward to go, he travels along the beach, and it doesn't take long for him to see the central building of the isle in the distance, the Dojo.
It's hard to miss when it has a caricature of a Kubfu over the presumed entrance.
The group's travel is very simple, but for Shaun and his team, it's probably the first time that they have been in the presence of so many different Pokémon all in eyesight who are just living in the open wild area.
He honestly thought that Himiko would just become a hyperactive dart, meeting the new species since she started talking to him excitedly and asking him obvious questions. Eris, on the other hand, was simply watchful of those around us.
Their travels are paused, though, as Shaun has to lean to the side to dodge a lunge from a Pokémon from a tree he was passing under.
[How did you dodge that? I was sneaky and everything!]
Hearing a squeaky yet chipper voice, I look towards a grey squirrel-looking Pokémon. I take a defensive stance and notice that the Pokémon's gaze isn't one on him but one on his companion Eris, but he responds anyway.
"Well, I saw your shadow in the tree above, I didn't want to assume you'd attack, but I kept an eye on you in case."
Hearing this, the Squirrel tilts its head by 30 degrees, understanding I can understand it, but regardless of it gets into an aggressive stance.
[No matter, this is Skwovet territory that Applin has to buzz off like the bug it is; these trees are ours.]
Hearing its words, three pairs of eyes grow tense, as even though this battle would be pointless since Eris would be leaving anyway with Shaun and Himiko, none of the other two condone racism towards their companion.
Eris, on the other hand, looks like she's about to throw down regardless, but before she can jump into the fight, Shaun speaks. "Himiko, would you kindly fry this rodent?"
Eris seems affronted when he tells Himiko to fight instead of her, but as Himiko is exiting the Dowsing Device, he whispers to Eris, "It's probably a normal type, so it's immune to astonish."
Hearing this, Eris sulks since currently her only attacking move is ghost type.
The Skwovet sensing that were not backing down leapt to attack Himiko, looking to get the first hit in. She reacted to the attack instinctively, as he had trained her to do when attacked physically and charged her form with electricity.
Shaun thought this would be suitable for her instead as an electrical tackle alternative to train her Charge move to be her go-to reflex for defence, since he found it was quick to activate and could possibly paralyse the opponent.
'Skwovet uses Body Slam.'
'Himiko uses Spark.'
'Himiko is hit, Skwovet is Hit'
From the impact, both Pokémon are sent backwards respectfully, at that time he speaks out to Himiko, "Use charge beam"
Himiko's form illuminates with her electrical energy before sending the beam towards the Skwovet, who just landed. It helps that a levitating Pokémon recovers faster than land-bound foes since they can become stable earlier.
The Skwovet scurries to the side, trying to dodge the beam, but its big tail gets stuck by the beam, and it sends shocks through its body into the ground.
'Himiko uses Charge Beam'
'Skwovet is hit'
'Himiko's SPA increases by 1 stage'
Seeing that Himiko is just floating in the open already charging her next beam for its attack, the Skwovet fights through the feelings of paralysis and jumps behind a tree out of Himiko's sight but just within His.
Hidden under the tree, the Skwovet takes out what seems to be a purple berry from its tail before splitting it in two and stuffing its cheeks with the berry.
'Skwovet uses Stuff Cheeks with Wiki berry'
'Skwovet regains 33% of health and DEF is increased by 2 stages'
Once it consumes the berry it starts to climb the tree thinking it might be able to get the drop on her since she's focusing on him towards the ground but when it reaches a branch which would obscure it while giving it a bridge to Himiko, a Bolt of electricity strikes on the branch underneath it causing the branch to break sending the Pokémon on it falling to the ground in surprise.
'Himiko uses Charge Beam on Branch.'
'Branch breaks.'
The Skwovet reacts quickly, and once it's again on the ground, it jumps to the side as it watches the Charge beam act like a Guillotine swinging downwards in a constant stream of energy.
Using the delay between her attacks, the Skwovet charges towards the Floating Himiko and goes to slam its body again into her and seeing she doesn't have time to charge another beam, she again does as trained and Sparks with electricity to retaliate.
'Skwovet uses Body Slam.'
'Himiko uses Spark.'
'Himiko is hit, Skwovet is Hit'
'Skwovet is Paralysed'
The Squirrel Pokémon when hitting Himiko squeaks as its form is racked with electricity locking its muscles in place, it's send back again from the two attacks impacting against each other but this time before it can jump out of the way, due to its decrease in speed when a Charge Beam comes for it, it strikes head on knocking the Skwovet out.
'Himiko uses Charge beam.'
'Skwovet is hit and knocked out.'
The fight ends there as the rodent is knocked out, so Himiko floats back to her trainer before flopping onto his shoulder opposite to Eris's location. he doesn't say anything since she took some hits, so she should rest.
Shaun would have balled her, but since she didn't ask to, he didn't do so.
He just continues his way along the field towards the dojo since he doesn't notice any other path forward.
Once he reaches the Dojo, he notices a few people wandering around outside with a few random Pokémon, obviously since Shaun wasn't in some sort of martial gi or one of those Galar trainer stadium outfits, the obviously students of the Dojo gave him the stink eye.
Shaun obviously makes his way to bypass the Dojo towards a path flanked by two stone cliff faces, but as he does, he finds a small party of Dojo Students coming through the same path towards the dojo.
They see a suspicious person on the Dojo's Island and form a human wall to bar me from passing through.
Seeing the human wall Shaun just sighs and asks in a bored tone "Yes, Can I help you with something?", one of the front runners of the group steps forward and declares, "Who are you and why are you on the Dojo's Island, trespassers aren't allowed here!" his voice is echoed by murmurs and affirmations from the other members of the human wall.
Rolling his eyes, Shaun just speaks, "Well, I didn't intend to come to this island, but I'm stuck here till I can get enough resources to pay for the cab out of here."
The group of trainers have a looks of confusion since, while parts of what Shaun said made sense, the other half just rases more questions. "What do you mean you didn't want to come here? It takes more effort to get to the island than to leave it. The Gyarados are afraid of the island, so they focus their hunts towards the mainland."
Bored of the conversation Shaun reaches up and scratches Himiko a little who makes a small squeak noise in appreciation, "Well I had to parachute here since I was ejected from a plane from high up from the east, this is just where I landed, so I'm not a trespasser I'm a victim just trying to leave to where I wanted to go, so would you kindly let me pass now ?"
Hearing the reason for his arrival, the young trainers murmur before the head of the group asks, "Why not rest in the Dojo first, then? Master Mustard and Honey would be willing to accommodate you in one of the bunk rooms until you could leave."
At this Shaun sighs before in a melancholic tone says "well that would be difficult since I have enochlophobia which is the fear of crowds, its fine if it's in an open place but in a building, I just freak out like a shuck up Beedrill, wait you don't have Beedrill here. . . how about as rampant as a Hatterine"
His reason and analogy makes the trainers murmur again before they stop blocking the path by stepping to the side, "we don't like it, but we can see your situation isn't ideal, we will tell Master Mustard about you just in case so don't get any funny ideas while you scavenge."
With that, the group of trainers make their way to the Dojo while Shaun makes his way away from it. He only takes a few steps before feeling something.
He feels another archway nearby; by travelling roughly 300 steps from the Dojo down the path north, he finds the archway embedded within a cliff face.
"This will save some time, and I won't have to camp outside. That's good."
Eris just looks at him like he's a madman, but Himiko just rubs herself against his neck, asking for more scratches, which he does provide to her enjoyment.
