Chapter 11 - Superior Golden Sentry Serum

T'Challa arrives in Western Pennsylvania at the secret research facility. He looks at all the notes they have copied for T'Challa and goes through them. He is thankful for the Essence and the natural intelligence he was gifted with. After going through it once, he has it memorised and will never forget it again. His mind works fast, beyond compare and starts to create theories and plans on how he could change certain things and go about creating this Golden Sentry Serum. But as he does so, he thinks about all his other ideas and has thoughts on how he would not only replicate the GSS but also improve it. He will create something that stands above it, a Superior Golden Sentry Serum, if you will.

He quickly reviewed all the notes and then set them aside.

"Destroy those. We don't want anyone to get hold of this." T'Challa says.

"Yes, Prince T'Challa."

"What about the other people I asked you to keep watch over?" T'Challa asks.

"We have kept an eye on everything as you ordered, and up to this point, nothing has happened. Owen Reece lives in Brooklyn, New York and works as a laboratory technician at a commercial nuclear plant called the Acme Atomic Corp. Nothing has happened as of yet, but he has been bothered about the low pay and long working hours."

"What are they working on right now?" T'Challa asks.

"As far as we were told, experimental particle generators of some kind."

"Is that so?... good. Keep a very close eye on things and get me access to the Acme Atomic Corp as fast as possible. I believe the time has come any day now. From what I calculated, it would make sense. What about the others?" T'Challa asks rather excitedly. The time has come for him to do what he has long planned and to utilise his meta-knowledge as intended, growing powerful beyond belief.

"We have found Dr. Henry 'Hank' Pym, Ph.D, as well. His 'heroic' career has taken a rather 'tragic' turn as of late, and he has retired from active duty. It seems that he was rather abusive to his wife verbally, and they have been divorced. Now he lives his life aimlessly," the man tells T'Challa.

"Good. Should he agree to my proposal, Dr. Pym will be very useful for Wakanda. And finally?" T'Challa asks, nodding his head, seeing that his plans and preparations were going swimmingly for now, which was an impossibility in the Marvel multiverse.

"Dr. Adam Bernard Brashear, formerly known as Blue Marvel, has retired from active duty as a superhero. He married the SHIELD agent, Marlene Frazier and has three children. Currently, he is a tenured professor of physics at the University of Maryland," the agent tells T'Challa.

"And his notes or research of any kind?" T'Challa asks.

"Nothing as of yet. It appears that Dr. Brashear has truly retired, and while we found notes about the Negative Zone and other theories, I believe you are already familiar with them; you have likely seen them before. We have, however, managed to locate his secret base as you told us, Prince. Kadesh Base is the former underwater headquarters of Blue Marvel, located in the Mariana Trench beneath the Pacific Ocean. You were correct once again, in your prediction, my Prince. I am astonished," the man tells T'Challa, who nods.

After acquiring his knowledge, T'Challa was constantly tense. Only Ororo managed to take some of that tension away and make him truly enjoy her company. However, just thinking about all the threats that awaited him made him yearn for something that could truly protect him and his loved ones. And that meant he had to go all out when creating his Superior Golden Sentry Serum. But it was by no means the only thing he had planned, and the only reason why he could exist as he did right now, and go about his way and through with his plans, could only mean that his secret plan had succeeded... sort of. But that was still in the future, for the current him at least.

"Very well, it doesn't matter that much anyway. The Blue Marvel is powerful and possesses incredible abilities, but gaining access to his notes isn't strictly necessary for me. At some point, going further out is but a matter of time." T'Challa explains.

"I'm afraid I don't understand, my Prince," the man says.

"That doesn't matter. All that matters now is that you go to New York, to Acme Atomic Corp and install what I told you. When the time comes, and that will be very soon, I will need things to work perfectly." T'Challa says.

"Very well, my Prince. Would you like to meet the Professor now?" he asks.

"Yes. Lead me to him."

.

T'Challa is led to a secret room underneath the house, a few blocks away from Professor Turner's research place. The professor sits in a chair with a two-way window and a small table. He looks collected, but T'Challa can smell his sweat and sees that he is afraid. He enters the door after making sure the professor can't see his face.

"Greetings, Professor Turner. I hope you aren't too uncomfortable." T'Challa says as he enters the room.

"Who are you? And why am I here?" he asks.

"May I get you anything? Some water or anything to eat?" T'Challa asks.

"What? I would like you to answer my question."

"I believe you are well aware of the reason you are here, Professor."

"... Project Sentry."

"Indeed. Project Sentry started in March of 1947, when a joint American and Canadian government operation employed former Nazi scientists and material from the Canadian program Weapon X in an effort to re-create the Super Soldier Serum and magnify its effects a thousand times over," T'Challa says.

"How do you know this? Are you a former Weapon X member?" the Professor asks.

"No. If that were the case, you would be dead, and no one would ever find your corpse. What I am here to talk about is how exactly you managed to create the Golden Sentry Serum, as you call it. And more importantly, how you allowed a meth addict with several psychosis to drink it and elevate him into one of the most dangerous creatures in the Universe."

"Robert is not a bad person. He is doing a lot of good. Can't you see that?" the Professor says.

"Truly? Then tell me, Professor. Why are you still giving him injections when we both know that you haven't replicated the GSS again?" T'Challa asks.

"I... he thinks he needs them. If I hadn't had them ready for him, he..."

"What? Hurt you? Kill you? Do you see how this was a mistake, Professor? You have allowed an unstable man to have such power. What if he has a mental breakdown? Who will save us then?"

"I... don't know," the Professor admits.

"I am well aware that your interest in this project was merely scientific in nature. But you may as well have given the nuclear launch button to a three-year-old. You know it will blow, but just not when."

T'Challa continued to show the Professor how wrong he was in just going along with it. He wanted to give him a bad feeling and make him lower his defences. He would learn the details of his work, that much was certain. He already knew all of his papers, but there were still one or two things he wanted to make sure of before he started to create his very own Serum.

Time passed as T'Challa asked questions and received the answers slowly. The Professor was getting tired, and so he had fewer and fewer ways of stopping himself from saying something wrong. And he was scared as well. Scared of whatever these people would do to him, should he not cooperate. And that fear was what T'Challa used to get what he wanted. And indeed, after 13 hours of questioning and some physical threats, it was finally done. T'Challa had found out how exactly the Golden Sentry Serum had been created.

"Thank you, Professor. That was very helpful. Here, have some water before you leave."

"I... I can leave?" the Professor asks, surprised.

"Naturally. I told you that you may leave after telling us everything about the Project. And I keep my promises."

"Thank you... Thank you very much," the Professor says and almost breaks down.

T'Challa and the spies watch as Professor Turner walks across the street in fear and suspicion. But he does need to be suspicious. T'Chala told the truth, and he was allowed to leave. But whether he could tell his story was another question. Hundreds of thousands of calculations ran through T'Challa's mind right now, and he had already forgotten about the Professor. He was so close, closer than he had ever been, and if it worked, he would truly jump the power ladder.

"What now, Prince?"

"Is the laboratory ready?" he asks.

"Indeed. Everything is as you instructed. And our brothers have made it to Acme Atomic Corp already and installed what you wanted."

"Good. Let's go there; this will be monumental if it succeeds." T'Challa says.

.

T'Challa is inside the specially designed laboratory that he had his network create. He had made the blueprints for it and the instructions, and they had built it over the years. To think that something he had started to plan years ago was finally about to arrive was exhilarating. But he didn't succeed just yet; he had to be patient. Already, he had done what others would think impossible. He had prepared for an event that could be considered a fixed point in time, and now... he was about to ride the metaphysical wave this event caused.

He has been working nonstop, ensuring everything was perfect and that nothing would go wrong. But so many things could go wrong, and that was the problem. Nevertheless, he was ready, finally. And at the perfect time as well.

*Ring ring*

"Yes?"

[My Prince, I believe the moment you have been waiting for has just occurred.]

"Then do it. Do it now!" T'Challa says.

[But the perfect moment-]

"It doesn't matter. All that matters is that we do it before it happens. I naturally calculated and expected this, so do it now!"

[As you command.]

T'Challa runs to the spot he had created. A large container, made of Vibranium, with power receivers and transmitters. At the centre of this container was a vial, already filled with a 'serum' T'Challa had been working on. If he had to give it a name, it would be the ground upon which his Tree of Power shall grow. He approaches the container and uses the mechanical arms to set everything right inside. He looks at the many screens on the wall, showing him hundreds of different calculations and data.

And then the moment arrived.

*...bbbbBbbBBbBBBBBBBBB---ooooorooomoooo*

The receivers started to be overloaded by massive amounts of foreign energy, transmitted to them by the special transmitters that T'Challa had created and which were located inside the Acme Atomic Corp lab. The energy is truly foreign, not belonging to anything on Earth. T'Challa has the energy flow inside the serum. He watches the different data, and then when the time is right, he presses one of his buttons.

*Beep*

A monstrous generator behind him starts to work, and from it, a series of energy emerges. The spiral grows and then...

*VVVROOOOOOMM*

A minuscule portal appears, the size of a hair-width, but from it, seemingly endless energy pours out and into another set of receivers. This particular energy flows back to the generator and enters the energy spiral, mixing with the previous energy and fusing, slowly becoming one and something completely different. It is so potent that the material T'Challa is using, which is mostly Vibranium, starts to disintegrate. He looks at the data readings and can't believe it. This shouldn't be logically possible, and yet here he is.

T'Challa activates the final button. The energy, which has been growing constantly, finally stabilises as it equals out the monstrous energy T'Challa had received through the initial receivers from the Acme Atomic Corp lab. Now, the new energy flows back to the container T'Challa created, using the Vibranium as a converter, into the serum.

*bbbrrrr---OOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM*

...

...

"Ugh..."

T'Challa groans and stands up again. The laboratory is mostly destroyed, but is holding on by a single thread. He walks to the container and looks at the serum. There it is... the Superior Golden Sentry Serum.

He did it.
