Chapter 18 - Chapter 16: Steps Beneath the Red Star

The night sky hung silent above SD Ceria. On the school rooftop, three friends—Bima, Lina, and Riko—were inside their secret room, now a place of reflection and truth-seeking. No wind stirred. Only the whisper of stars above, casting gentle light over the earth.

Bima sat cross-legged, calmly gazing upward. The mysterious necklace hanging around his neck pulsed faintly, as if breathing. Meanwhile, Lina slowly turned the lens of an old telescope—a keepsake from her late father. The device guided them in reading the skies and solving puzzles.

Nearby, Riko paced restlessly like a cat sensing invisible strangeness. He occasionally peeked down, making sure no one was spying on them.

"Bima, align this with the map from the Reflection Room," Lina said, pointing to the northeastern sky. "Look at the bow-shaped constellation. Maybe that's the key."

Bima unfolded an old, worn paper he'd taken from their secret room. It showed three curved lines forming an arc, with five small star points along its curve. At the arc's tip, a large red star symbol stood out boldly. This paper wasn't just a map—it seemed alive.

Bima stared at the sky. In the northeast, he saw it—a single red star shining faintly, but with a different glow. Warm. Strange. As if watching him back.

The longer he stared—the necklace on his neck suddenly lit up, shining a dazzling bright light.

"Bima, your necklace—!" Riko shouted.

But the voice was drowned out as the world turned white.

Dimensional Resonance – A Brief Vision

Bima found himself elsewhere. Dry air. The ground beneath felt like ash. Around him was thick mist and slow-moving shadows. The world felt silent… yet alive.

Footsteps echoed from all directions.

From the fog appeared two figures—Catty and Brody. Their bodies were wounded, dried blood staining their cheeks and arms. Their eyes full of warning.

"Second step... nearly locked. Time's curve," Catty whispered, voice heavy.

Bima tried to speak, but no sound came out. The world seemed to mute him.

From the dark sky came a crack of light. A figure descended slowly—Thalas, standing proudly before a floating mirror. Inside the mirror, Bima saw… himself. But older. His eyes glowing red, with a black pendant hanging on his chest. The face smiled calmly—but terrifyingly.

"The sky holds your truth, but you're not ready to see your end," the figure said.

The mirror rumbled, cracked, and exploded into dust of light.

Bima's body was thrown back—and then everything vanished.

---

Back to the Real World

"Bima! Hey! Wake up!"

Riko's voice called from afar, pulling Bima back. He jerked awake—lying on the rooftop floor, breath ragged. Sweat drenched his forehead. Lina knelt beside him, face full of worry, while Riko held his shoulder tightly.

"What happened...? Why does my head feel like it's been crushed?" Bima groaned.

"You fainted! Your necklace lit up like a disco ball—really bright!" Riko joked, though his face showed clear panic.

Bima looked up at the sky. The red star was still there—but its glow was weaker than before. He reached for his necklace and gripped it tightly.

"I saw... another place. There was Catty. Brody. They were hurt. And I... I saw myself, but not me. He was scary. A dark version of my future."

Lina was silent, then opened the folded sky map. Her eyes widened. A new line appeared—thin and red—connecting the big star symbol to a small point at the bottom corner.

"This map... changed," she whispered in disbelief.

"Bima," Riko said softly, "we're diving deeper into crazy stuff, huh?"

---

The Arrival of Tasya

Suddenly, footsteps sounded from the stairs. From the shadows appeared Tasya. She walked calmly, wearing a dark gray sweater. Around her neck hung a black pendant—similar to Bima's, but colder… darker.

"The red star isn't the goal. It's just a mirror inside you, Bima," she said flatly.

Lina stood up reflexively. "What do you mean?"

Tasya only smiled faintly.

"You haven't seen anything yet. But the lines are already open. The sky will answer… when you're ready."

"Remember… a mirror doesn't just reflect. It also calls back."

After speaking, Tasya turned and vanished into the dark corridor. Her shadow seemed to merge with the darkness.

---

Reflections from Vadranir

The three stood silently. The light from the sky map slowly enveloped their faces, pulsing like a heartbeat.

"Look… this symbol—'Vadranir'," Lina said.

"We won't enter…" Bima murmured, "but we will touch it."

Suddenly, without warning, their bodies were pulled by the red star's light. The world spun fast, and…

---

A Moment in Vadranir

They stood upon the sky itself. Not earth, nor clouds. Only endless space, colored by sparkles and shadow silhouettes. Everything felt like a dream.

"This isn't a world…" Lina whispered.

"It's… a reflection of the world," Riko added.

From afar, silhouettes of humans and beasts floated slowly.

Then, a voice was heard—not from outside—but from within their chests:

"Who looks… will be seen. Who seeks… will be found."

The red star above shone bright—and suddenly, CRACK! It shattered like glass.

Their bodies were thrown back… into the real world.

---

Back in the Secret Room

They crashed back into the school's secret room. Gasping, stunned, yet more aware than before.

The night sky still hung above SD Ceria. But now, something had changed.

Bima looked at his necklace and knew—this was just the beginning.

"This… is not the end," he murmured.

---

A New Direction, Not the Destination

In confused silence, the three sat quietly.

Bima closed his eyes. He could feel something different…

Not power, nor threat… but a calling.

"Langitara is not a world… but a direction."

"And the red star… is not a gate. But a signal."

Riko looked at the symbol. "So… do we have to go there?"

"Not yet. We're not ready. But when the time comes, we'll know."

Sunset light pierced the room's cracks, casting three crossing beams.

"From now on… we must learn. Not just fight," said Bima.

Lina added, "And learn who's friend, who's shadow."

Riko patted his shoulder, "Whatever it is… we walk together."

---

An Unusual Return

After everything, they hurried out of the secret room and parted ways home.

---

Bima: Scolding, Bullying, and Unclear Anger

At home, his uncle Bando greeted him with a panicked face.

"Bima! Astaghfirullah... where have you been?! It's so late!"

Before Bima could answer, a voice from inside sneered.

Nina, his cousin, grinned, "Hey, lost kid's back. Did you run off with money?"

"Nina! Shut up!" Bando snapped.

But it wasn't over. Silah, Bando's wife, appeared from the kitchen, furious.

"This is your fault, Bando! If you were stricter, this kid wouldn't be wandering around at night!"

Bando was confused. "But I—"

"Enough! Tomorrow, you take him to school. No discussion!"

Bima lowered his head, but inside he knew—there was something bigger than just coming home late.

---

Riko: A Father's Concern

At Riko's house, his father—a school teacher—waited tensely in the living room.

"Riko… do you know what time it is?"

Riko swallowed. "Sorry, Dad... I had something important."

"More important than your safety?"

Riko shook his head.

"Next time... let me know. I'm not just your teacher at school, but your father at home."

Riko bowed his head. "Yes, Dad… sorry."

---

Lina: A Home Filled with Worry

Meanwhile at Lina's house...

Her mother Sulastri paced nervously in the living room.

"Oh God, Lina, where have you been…"

When the door opened, Lina's little brother Rendi rushed over.

"Sis!! Where have you been?!"

Grandma appeared from her room, holding a tasbih.

"Thank God… you're home."

Sulastri hugged her daughter tightly.

"Next time, let us know, dear. You made everyone worry."

Lina smiled, holding it all inside.

Chapter Closing – On the Edge of Two Worlds

In the dead of night, the three sat apart—but felt the same.

A new journey was about to begin.

And from the darkness, Tasya stood watching the starry sky once more.

"Langitara is not a destination… but a calling.

And they have answered it."
