The athletes were jogging round the field till their coach came.
" I can see we have new faces among us" the coach said
" Yes coach, the newbies" the captain of the male team said
" Let's test your abilities and see what you are capable of" the coach said
" I'm sorry I'm late" Elena said coming
" You missed the orientation, I guess Nancy will put you through" the coach said
" Yes coach" Elena said going to meet the female captain
" What do we have here, miss perfect herself" Nancy said
" Coach said you'll put me though" Elena said
" Well, miss fancy. You're late so take two laps" Nancy said
" But other girls who can late took just one" she said
" But you came later after then, so two laps now" Nancy said
" Sure Nancy" she said jogging off

The race started, and they were qualifiers up on qualifiers till the last four standing and Leo happen to be among the four.
" He's got potential" the coach said to the male captain regarding Leo as Leo came first again
" 9 secs, I think you got yourself a challenge Micheal" the coach said
" He's still far from beating my record" Micheal said
" You think so, he's tired after running those races and he still managed 9 secs. Look like we've found ourselves a new champ" the coach said and then walked over to Nancy
" How are things going?" He asked
" Miss fancy is not cut out for the real world" she said as Elena sat down breathing heavily like she was about to pass out
" How many races?"
" Just 1"
" Position?"
" Well, she was second place because she gave up before getting to the finish line"
" She's got sped but no energy, you should keep a close eye on her. She might turn out pretty useful sometime" he said
" Alright, gather around" the coach said and they did
" That's enough training for today, you all did well but we still have to pick the best of the best. The next time we meet, I'll let you know who were picked to join the team, you can train some more and then go" the coach said and left
" Hey" Micheal said approaching Leo
" Hey captain"
" That's right, captain. Don't forget that, and just because you won against the newbies doesn't mean you're good enough for the team. We can dispose you if we want, it depends on my decision" Micheal said
" Alright" Leo said faking a smile.
He wasn't in the mood for anyone's trouble right now, especially not his team captain.
" Hey, miss fancy. Two laps" Nancy said
" What?, what have I done this time around" Elena asked
" I should be asking you that?"
" Nothing"
" Exactly, nothing. You just sat down doing nothing while the rest train, so two laps before I change my mind and increase it to four"
" Argh!" Elena grunted as she went again
Tyler sat down to rest with the others after intense training before the coach arrived.
" Okay boys, time to round up" the coach said and they gathered around
" So, let's see our new members" he said checking the list

" Hey Baker, check this out" he said throwing a ball really fast and it hit his arm

The football team were already done with training, it was really great work they did.
" Geez, I'm so tired. We have a big game coming up and taking care of the new recruits is even more tiring" Jason said
