Ian's suspicions about Jack were growing deeper, but he was also aware that now was not the time to reveal the truth; they had to dig deeper to make sure they didn't miss any details.
Early the next morning, Ian found Mia and whispered to her what he had discovered last night.
Mia's face turned pale as she listened, "What? Linda hasn't been cleared of suspicion yet, now how come Jack is in trouble too?"
"That's right, but again, there is something odd about his behavior that prevents me from being completely sure of his true intentions." Ian calmly analyzed, "Perhaps he himself is trying to set a trap to confuse us."
Mia took a deep breath and looked grave, "We have to be more cautious, Jack is the head of intelligence after all, and if we act rashly, it's likely to cause confusion."
"The plan we agreed on last night can begin."
Half an hour later, in the conference room, Mia, Ian, Rayne, Jack, Linda, and Roy were all present, and together they discussed the latest plan for the transportation of supplies, "Recently, our transportation of supplies has been interfered with frequently, and we are running out of reserves, so this plan is very important, I hope that all of you here can do a good job of keeping it a secret."
After everyone left, Mia found Linda alone, "Linda, you are still in charge of this transportation plan, but there is a bit of an unexpected situation, the plan needs to be modified ...."
As night fell, Ian quietly sneaked outside Jack's place, waiting for the right moment to sneak in and investigate.
About half an hour later, Jack really quietly left the residence again, and walked straight toward the canyon outside.
Ian quietly followed, turning on his Shadow of Concealment, and his figure was hidden in the darkness like a ghost. Jack walked out of the stronghold and into a wooded area, apparently with an appointment.
Ian hid behind a thick bush, observing Jack's actions. A short time later, a member of the Storm Council appeared in the woods, wearing a hood that covered most of his face and made him difficult to recognize.
"The defense of the stronghold has been significantly tightened lately, you need to be more careful." The Storm Council member whispered.
Jack's voice was unusually calm, "Don't worry, I know what to do, but you must also keep your promise to keep my family safe."
"As long as you continue to provide accurate information, your family will naturally be fine." The other party said indifferently.
When Ian heard this, he became even more puzzled inwardly, Jack's motive was to protect his family? This made the situation even more confusing.
Jack exchanged information with the Storm Council members and left in a hurry.
Ian hesitated in place for a moment and finally decided not to follow Jack immediately, but to follow the mysterious council member.
The other party quickly walked towards the other side of the canyon, with Ian following closely behind. He carefully kept a certain distance and finally followed the council member to a hidden cave deep in the canyon.
There were two guards outside the cave, guarding it very closely, and Ian stopped in his tracks, not daring to approach.
Just then, he noticed a familiar figure not far away, it was actually Roy! Roy was quietly lurking nearby, his eyes solemnly observing the cave.
Ian hesitated slightly and decided to show himself, "Roy, why are you here?"
Roy was startled by the sudden appearance of Ian and quickly turned around on guard, seeing that it was Ian he was slightly relieved, "Why are you here?"
"I was following the people from the Storm Council, I didn't expect to see you." Ian confessed.
Roy looked at Ian with complicated eyes and whispered, "It seems we are both investigating the same thing. I've recently realized that the intelligence department may have been infiltrated, so I've been secretly investigating, and Jack's actions have made me deeply suspicious."
Ian nodded slightly, "I have also discovered Jack's unusual behavior, but he seems to have other hidden agendas."
Roy's expression was grave, "I suspect that Jack is just a cover, the real problem may lie with Linda."
Ian shook his head, "I've also investigated Linda, and she doesn't seem to have any obvious problems. Instead, it's Jack's behavior that's more suspicious, but again, it's deliberately too obvious."
The two were silent for a moment before Roy whispered, "Regardless, we'll have to sneak into the cave and take a look, there must be more important information hidden in here." Said Roy was about to enter the cave, Ian pulled him back, "You're going in so rashly, the space in the cave is narrow, where are you hiding? You wait here, I'll go in and take a look."
After saying that Ian turned on the Shadow of Concealment, his whole person instantly became transparent, Roy rarely revealed an expression of amazement, "You're really something."
Carefully avoiding the guards, Ian quietly approached the cave and carefully went deeper. Soon enough, he heard the faint sounds of conversation coming from ahead, and through the gaps in the rocks, he saw several members of the Storm Council in close conversation.
"The information provided by Jack is reliable, but the Resistance has become suspicious lately, the action must be accelerated, otherwise it will be hard to get another chance." One of the members said in a low voice.
"Mia must be resolved as soon as possible, otherwise the Resistance will soon pose a serious threat to us." Another member said coldly.
"I've heard that the chief and the others have made careful arrangements, and if there are no surprises, this war, will soon be over."
Ian carefully left the cave, and on the way back to the stronghold together after meeting up with Roy, Roy whispered, "Now that the situation is clear, we must tell Mia immediately."
Ian's gaze was firm, "But we still can't act rashly now or we'll alert the snakes, we must formulate a foolproof plan to completely expose all the traitors at once."
