Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Time to Return

After spending a night trapped on this statue and unable to escape because of the Centaurs gathered below, Lucifer had learned another interesting trait of those monsters.

Although these Centaurs could talk to each other normally like humans because they were special monsters, meaning that they could think, their intelligence was not that great.

To be honest, they were quite dumb if not really dumb.

If they were actually smart, they would have gone up to the top of the statue - where Lucifer and Nothing were - together instead of sending one at a time.

If those Centaurs had done that, Lucifer and Nothing would have had a much harder time surviving, but that did not mean that both of them would have lost and died in a pitiable way.

Of course, Lucifer and Nothing would have won if that scenario happened.

But in the end, thanks to the low intelligence of these monsters, Lucifer and Nothing were lucky enough to survive until the sun rose once again at the horizon.

There was no time to waste, it was time for them to return to their lovely base. Lucifer was very exhausted by now, he would probably sleep until the next day when he returned.

According to their plan, Nothing would first need to burn the corpses of the Centaurs they had killed using the Dagger Of The Night - the weapon that now belonged to him.

Since this was the first time Nothing had used the Dagger Of The Night, he was very excited. Nothing kept stabbing the corpses of the monsters, waiting for them to burst into flames before stopping and moving to the next corpses.

It seemed like he was quite happy to use a used item. What a strange hobby. Well, Lucifer wouldn't judge him or do anything disrespectful to Nothing, everyone has their own preferences anyways.

After all the corpses were burned, Lucifer and Nothing pushed all of the burning corpses down to the ground where the other Centaurs were gathered.

Suddenly, the burning corpses fell from the sky to the ground, so it was obvious that the Centaurs would overreact. They screamed and scattered in all directions, most of the Centaurs had run away.

But there were still a few monsters that weren't fooled by Lucifer's trick and remained standing still, not moving even a single step.

Seeing this, Lucifer didn't show any signs of nervousness or fear, instead, he smiled sinisterly.

Now was when Lucifer's real plan began.

Because the Centaurs didn't know that there were 2 people on top of the statue, they only thought that there was only 1 person, that's why Lucifer could come up with this plan.

Without wasting another second, Lucifer and Nothing went down together.

But when they were only a few dozen steps away from the bottom, Lucifer suddenly stopped, leaving Nothing to take care of the Centaurs standing guard outside.

"Can you do it, Nothing?" Lucifer asked, still smiling brightly even though this plan could cause Nothing to be seriously injured or even die.

Seeing Lucifer's evil smile, Nothing suddenly shivered as if he was standing somewhere cold, but he still agreed to carry out his companion's plan no matter what.

Nothing stretched, gained momentum for a while, and finally quickly left the statue, attracting the attention of the remaining Centaurs.

Seeing Nothing suddenly run out of the statue, all the remaining Centaurs started screaming and chasing after the black-haired young boy:

"Everyone! That human ran out!"

"Everyone, chase after him quickly!"

"Don't let him escape!"

"He killed our friends! Let's avenge them together!"

While Nothing was acting as bait to lure all the Centaurs, Lucifer and Volcanic Slime just waited for a while inside the statue until all of the Centaurs were gone.

After making sure that there were no more monsters outside, Lucifer unsummoned Nothing and then summoned him again.

This time, when Lucifer summoned Nothing, he was having an expression of utter terror on his face. His body was drenched in sweat and had a few scratches, but they weren't too serious.

It could be said that Nothing had a pretty "fun" time playing tag with those Centaurs.

"Holy fuck you fucking bastard! Couldn't you have unsummoned me earlier!" Nothing glared at Lucifer and grabbed his collar.

In this case, Lucifer didn't know what to do so all he could do was give a gentle smile and hope that Nothing's anger would subside.

"Come on man, we've already escaped from those Centaurs, right? Besides, I already gave you the Dagger Of The Night, can you consider that weapon as my apology?"

Nothing gaped, not expecting Lucifer to be so despicable and dirty like this.

"Hey, sometimes you make me feel extremely disgusted to be honest."

Lucifer pretended not to hear what Nothing just said, he had no intention of starting a war with Nothing right here, right now. After all, Lucifer was a guy with a kind heart.

"Can you let me go please? If we waste any more time here, those monsters might come back and kill all of us."

Nothing clicked his tongue, admitting that what Lucifer said was correct. Although he was reluctant, he still had to let Lucifer go and return to the base together as soon as possible.

But before that, Nothing still said a threatening word to Lucifer:

"When we get back to the base, I will definitely beat you up like beating a sandbag."

Lucifer didn't say anything, just smiled like a brain-damaged person. Seeing this, Nothing didn't know if Lucifer was really okay or not.

Together, Lucifer, Nothing, and Volcanic Slime were about to return to the base after spending about a few dozen minutes walking. Lucifer had never missed their shabby hideout as much as he did now.

Even though it was a shabby place with no furniture and was even dirty and a little uncomfortable, Lucifer still missed it more than anything else.

If he had to choose between being stuck on top of that statue like last night or sleeping in a cramped, uncomfortable place but still had something to eat, Lucifer would obviously choose the latter.

Right now, he just wanted to lie down on the hard branch he had worked so hard to build and sleep until tomorrow morning.

Nevertheless, Lucifer did not get the chance to do so. His base was occupied by some unexpected guests, some uninvited guests.

Although Lucifer knew that they would eventually run into each other, he didn't expect that they would meet again this soon. Was this called bad luck or good luck?

Up above, the place that should have been Lucifer and Nothing's residence was being used by the three people Lucifer hated the most. Yes, it was Clark, Damian, and Lynja, the people Lucifer had sworn to kill at all costs.

Maybe God was giving him the chance to take the lives of those rich and powerful people but with shitty personalities?

Lucifer was truly grateful to God. But how could Lucifer kill those guys?
